  4. Yeah would be cool of they expand their running time again like 120-150 minutes. Fall Out Boy are playing longer shows than ever I think. Would be a compromise for fans like us and casuals so they can stick to their greatest hits and put more deeper cuts.

  5. Weezer, Fall Out Boy and now Guns N Roses have revamped their set lists in big ways. Even alternating songs each night. Playing stuff from even their hated albums, deep cuts, rarities. And Guns N Roses are the definition of a legacy act. Green Day need to really alter the course of their live show. As good or perfect as it may be, gosh darn it. Fire on a different cylinder, man.

  6. We have the 2 shows coming this month, the Harley Davidson show and the Quebec City show, then nothing until the end of September. So I really think we’ll have a single within that time. Rob Cavallo says the album is coming early 2024 while Billie originally said 2023, but he never said early or late, so maybe the plan was always originally going to be late 2023. A delay by a few months would then make it at least a February 2024 release

  7. Billy Idol is fronting what is essentially the Sex Pistols in Generation Sex. Since Johnny Rotten hates Green Day, I think it would be the ultimate Punk rock move to put Billie Joe in the actual Sex Pistols band and make a smash hit record with them. This could be the secret side project album....Billie Joe now fronting the two biggest punk bands because one wasn't enough. Sex Pistols return, it's great. Saviors is their album. Born in 1972, Raised In Hell is the next Green Day record, coming in 2024. Maybe this would have ripples through the world. Butterfly effect. The Network would reveal they were the Sex Pistols all along. And some guys from Devo. The Foxboro Hot Tubs would reveal they aren't related to Green Day in any way, but are also...The Network.

  8. The original band probably cancelled and it was just a placeholder until another band was confirmed. Hopefully it was Max Creeps or The Bacon Brothers and not some guy with his laptop. sad that the best sets are only for the 1% that are lucky enough to get into impossibly small venues.

  9. By the way, who ended up being the "Secret Surprise Band" at the Golden Bull last night?

  10. Maybe the album was going to be near the end of 2023, but there was a delay in vinyl production. Like Shinedown, they wanted everyone to enjoy the album at the same time so they rescheduled for that reason alone. April 22nd release to July 1st. 2 months, 10 days or so.

  11. Could Green Day release a side project album and their own album at the same time and tour with themselves? Sure, the trilogy didn't work, but two at once under two different names might be the trick. You gotta hold on to yourself. Saviors open for Green Day? Maybe they are doing like MCR....an album by the fictional band within the 1972 album. That is actually realistic....to me. Mama, ooh ooh ooh. I don't wanna die. Sometimes wish I had never been born at all.

  13. Didn't you said the exact same thing when they released the new Kerplunk! merch with another company?

  14. This is the furthest stretch I’ve heard from you. Impressive.

  15. They said “even newer, even original-er designs”. I don’t know about you, but it sounds like a single is coming to coincide with NEW designs!! Why hype us up like this if it’s just going to be a “new” design from one of their older albums?

  16. Doesn’t have to be. Lots of acts put out great stuff in the later parts of their careers. Other acts… not so much. They could still choose the be the former rather than the latter, but I think a lot hinges on this next album. Off the cuff works when you’re 22 and everything you touch is hot; it’s a lot harder to pull off well when you’re 52.

  17. I can understand that notion, but usually, I'm just happy to see my favorite band at all. I still think Green Day could look to The Cure who do an excellent job of keeping those big hits that everyone knows (Just Like Heaven, Friday I'm in Love, Lovesong, Lullaby) yet having a certain set of songs they rotate in and out each night to keep things exciting and reward fans who see them multiple times on a tour. Plus, the songs they do repeat are often varied with where they are in the setlist, so shows rarely feel the same. Also, if an artist is intentionally not performing the hits, be upfront about it. Madonna's Mademe X was all about her current album with a few "reworked" versions of her big hits and she stated this in her press release. Sure it's still disappointing, but those who didn't like that album knew best to wait for the next one.
