  2. Billie looked great on Little Steven. Kind of looks like this now too even though there's ten (or is it 11?) years between this photo and the one I posted above recently! https://www.tumblr.com/blondebabebillie/721116598249947136?source=share

  3. I'm not sure where to put this but Billie is discussed in the interview. Today Radio Interview: Jakob Armstrong of Ultra Q is "in love with music" https://today.rtl.lu/culture/music/a/2078051.html "Jakob's father, Billie Joe Armstrong (the lead singer of Green Day) has always been supportive of his son's music career, but never forced music on him. Until the age of twelve, Jakob wasn't interested in playing music. He discovered it on his own, and at fifteen years old he showed his dad the first song he ever wrote, to Billie Joe's complete surprise. It was necessary for Jakob to fall in love with music independently of his father's influence."

  5. Surely Demolicious, by itā€™s very name and the fact some songs clearly have unfinished lyrics, was recorded before the Trilogy and was the demos for the Trilogy, regardless of itā€™s release date?

  6. If anybody is still concerned about whether we'll be treated to as much clapping as FOAMF, just an observation: A Little Boy Named Train off of Demolicious -- claps in prechorus! A Little Boy Named Train as heard on Tre, after being graced by our friend Rob Cavallo -- no claps in sight šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Sidenote - everybody calls them handclaps when this is brought up... is that an American thing? What kind of claps would they record that aren't made by hands šŸ¤”

  7. I love your optimism and positive outlook, but Rob clearly said "early next year" in the interview back in April. The best you can hope for at the end of this year is a single.

  9. Went to the warped tour band tribute show this past weekend and it was amazing. They even had ā€œDookie: Green Day tribute bandā€ as the openers. It was a great way to fill in the void of not having seen live performing Green Day songs for the past 2 years for me (hella mega) . Highly recommend finding local cover bands, there are a lot out there!

  11. Yeah this is just the norm for any band. If the cycle happened after each album i.e. good album, bad album, good album bad album etc. then maybe it would be a GD exclusive thing but in this theory, GD often have multiple albums within the same boom or bust cycle. For all we know, 1972 could still be within the FOAMF "bust"

  12. Interesting thoughts. I may be wrong but on your first point, Tre was recorded around Feb to June '12, and released Dec. Demolicious was a post Trilogy demo project released April '14 I think ? Having a live feel with banter at end of some songs. ( Was that Mike telling Billie Joe that his playing was really sloppy?) Therefore, Demolicious songs contained many interesting variations to the original studio version of each song. Imho Demolicious was an amazing alternative to the studio songs chosen. You could almost sense you where with them in the studio. Correct me if I'm wrong, that would mean Rob's version without clapping came first??

  14. Someone on Reddit I believe pointed out that this may have been fairly recent because of his Retro Junkie hat. Itā€™s a bar in California and he played a show there with the Coverups in February

  15. It's taking so long because replacing all three members of a trio is extremely tough. It can't be just anybody. We all have to receive them as positively as possible. And to complicate things even further, they now have to be born in 1972! I think we now have the answers though. Craig Jones or Alkaline Trio guy on drums Derek Wimbly on vox and guitars and Fat Mike on bass. Once all these guys are in place, then they can probably write and record from 2024 to 2026. Album probably out in 2027 or 2028.

  20. This is from 200 pages ago: Guys , if you had sex with your partner last year around this time ,you could've had a child by now. Yeah that's how long we've waited but still no proper announcements. ....... Now in 2023, that child could be a Green Day fan and already experiencing their first wait for the next Green Day album. The new wave of Green Day fans are going to be some angry 4 or 5 year olds by the time a new a Green Day record drops. Maybe even 6 year olds. Gen Alpha - The Rage and love! (Sex is how babies are made.)

  23. Finally listened to this song and I really think it would be a banger live. Also, pretty catchy that I think it would get some solid airplay on the radio.
