It's taking so long because replacing all three members of a trio is extremely tough. It can't be just anybody. We all have to receive them as positively as possible. And to complicate things even further, they now have to be born in 1972! I think we now have the answers though. Craig Jones or Alkaline Trio guy on drums Derek Wimbly on vox and guitars and Fat Mike on bass. Once all these guys are in place, then they can probably write and record from 2024 to 2026. Album probably out in 2027 or 2028.

I love your optimism and positive outlook, but Rob clearly said "early next year" in the interview back in April. The best you can hope for at the end of this year is a single.

We did just have this studio cello clip that Billie shared in his Instagram video last week https://www.solidstatelogic.com/media/rob-cavallo-captures-big-studio-sound-with-big-six So I just took a look at this article again, and at the time of writing, it clearly says Cavallo and CLA were currently mixing the album, so obviously it has to be done by now. It also says the album is due out early next year, so could it have been written at a time when it wasn't exactly officially finalized? Like maybe they misunderstood Cavallo if he actually said something like, "Near the end of this year, or early next year at the latest."

Yes, except Green Day don't do anything new. I know they'll never play b-sides and rarities that I love, but even the songs that SHOULD be realistic wants for a Green Day show aren't ever getting played. Realistically, I'd just like some singles from Trilogy, Rev Rad and FOAM. I know there's a bad vibe wrapped around Trilogy and FOAM, but gosh dang. one song out of the 36. A guitar solo perhaps? a hit single from Rev Rad and 1 fun bop from FOAM. Haha

Speaking of that profile picture (in which he looks Amazing, by the way!!), I'm cracking up at the fact that it has a bunch of straight guys in the Green Day subreddit scrambling to simp over him lmao He's 51 and still has the power to upload a new selfie and have thousands of dudes doubting their sexuality. We know he loves compliments, so just in case he reeeeeally needs to hear it before making a new post: yes Billie, you look hot and you still got it, I promise, now please give us some content, I'll settle with a couple more selfies for now!
