  1. Wonder when that “not Green Day” thing people on here were teasing will pop up.

  2. Idk why people want the same schedule as FOAM. Do you really want the album to release 5-6 months after the first single?

  6. imho, I think your being a tad pessimistic. Back in January at Innings Festival, Billie Joe said we'll be back next year. Rob Cavallo confirmed this by saying the new album will be released early next year. That's early not late as you suggest. We already know on here that the album is finished. So, for me that's Jan/Feb for new album and start of US/World tour. I'm drooling already. As for anniversary celebration, Dookie 30th & AI 20th. Well in the past it's only been for 25th, for Dookie, Insomniac & Nimrod in various forms to celebrate. Although, having said that, back on April 19th they celebrated the 33rd anniversary of 39/Smooth by issuing the never seen before video of a live performance 'Paper Lantern' in an Oakland backyard just before the album release, March 25, 1990. Released on IG. Awesome. What would be really really special to celebrate next year, especially for the fans, is a 'Bullet In A Bible 2'. Say next fall/autumn. A CD/DVD, of a full live show of the new album. Uncut this time, from start to finish. Especially for the fans that can't get to see them live for whatever reason. Maybe for that show, to include some Dookie/AI classics. That would be really cool. Dreamland, I know. But if you dream and wish long and hard enough, they sometimes come true.

  7. Because we'd be hearing something in less than 3 months versus if they go an American Idiot route and wait until a month before hand, which would put what this thread has rambled on about for 500 pages firmly and possibly well into, 2024.

  8. And if they’re following the same schedule as FOAM, maybe a single in August/September?!?!?!?

  10. I'm totally fine with waiting until 2024 for an album they are working hard on but something to build hype would really help. Even just studio pictures every so often.

  12. Yes! Except Green Day should do 6 singles this time. Maybe 8 or 9.

  13. Although Fall Out Boy just released their album, So Much (For) Stardust in March. With the first 2 singles in January, and the 3rd on the same day as the album. Maybe Green Day would follow a similar schedule to this? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/So_Much_(for)_Stardust

  15. Jan - March are horrible months to release an album... I don't understand this either. That was the worst "marketing" scheme/timeline ever.

  16. Or what if the single comes out in late October or early November, then the wait for a February album wouldn’t be as bad! Or another possibility is that, if it’s a longer album this time, let’s say 14-18 songs, maybe we’d get 2 pre-release singles!! 1 in September, the second in November!!! Someone posted the cello clip by itself

  17. But what would you prefer? Same schedule as FOAM or a September 2024 announcement with a November(2 months away) album release?

  18. Tre from @bubukittyfk More Mike from @batmansmom

  19. You're right... but, we are still waiting for an announcement. I see no reason to not release at least a first single at this point. If the guys decide to postpone the release of 1972... I'm ok with that. I am more interested now in a 30th anniversary for Dookie.

  20. Do you honestly think they'll keep us waiting that long for an album that started in 2021? We already seen them with CLA which would imply the album is all mixed and ready!!!

  21. Oh, and still hoping they‘ll headline Rock am Ring again. This year was probably my worst year because of the bad line up bur still had a lot of fun. Most non-fans were disappointed in 2013 with their performance but a lot really liked their set last year. Would be a good promo move for them to do it again

  22. For me its okay to wait for the new album until next year. I just want an announcement for a big world tour 2024, that would help me till the album 😭

  23. I’m hoping the reason for the early 2024 release is they have big promotional plans for this album and perhaps sometime in the next few months that promotion will slowly begin, who knows though. This is the weirdest lead up to a Green Day album ever, I feel desperate AND hopeless at this point 😂

  24. Had a dream that @solongfromthestars had posted something in the 1972 speculation thread saying she'd been to a venue that GD had been to a few times and she'd been talking to a staff member who said they were due to be there in June but cancelled, and she later found evidence on paper that corroborated this and posted that too. Also, she and @Rumpelstiltskin2000 had both changed their usernames and profile photos to something different so it was really hard to tell the difference between who was posting lol. Then a bit later in the dream there was a part where I was with some old school friends and TV characters and we were getting chased round a school by these aliens and had to complete tasks to get away from them, and after we completed one of the bigger tasks we came face to face with these floating alien/spirit things who we could ask any question to and they'd answer it. I asked when was the next time GD would be playing near my city and they said September 2034 😭 And I was actually happy about it lol, I thought they meant next year

  25. @ANTI’s post is interesting, I saw a few things flash up recently that they are the fourth most listened to rock band on Spotify. Also, the have 6.3 m subscribers on YouTube, I am sure that has risen steadily for the last couple of years. I posted a few years ago about that number but would take ages to find it I guess. HM tour may not have been what super fans wanted but they are probably happy it was so successful. We have to share 😁
