Looks like Billie Joe has reactivated his IG account. https://instagram.com/billiejoearmstrong?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==9 points

Or he just unfollowed everyone because he doesn’t like social media to begin with. it would make sense if his public IG is just a promotional tool for him.8 points

Timeline seems to closely mirror Warning -> American Idiot, including a potentially abandoned/completely reworked project and a Network album in between. We just now have social media and a larger GDC presence to be made aware of everything going on.5 points

Can't make jokes anymore on GDC, I see. Some people should just relax. Bunch of 🤡🤡🤡🤡 I trust you @jengd, something is happening tomorrow 👀4 points

Agreed. Anyone posting fake cryptic things like “tomorrow” “one week”, etc should be banned immediately. Why is this trolling tolerated here?3 points

If I remember well, this thread was created in the last time Billie back to Insta. Some weeks after, they started to post 1972 teasers, so...3 points

Devil's Kind came up on my shuffle yesterday. Man, what a great song. Remember when we bullied Billie into releasing it? Good times 😁3 points

And it's June 1st!!! I don't think it's just a coincidence that he picked today to reactivate his account. Maybe they're getting ready to release a single for the summer this month?!?!?!?!?2 points

On Instagram it's not possible to set it private, he actually unfollowed everyone2 points

Love Devil's Kind...that was the good ole days when Billie used to interact with us.2 points

There's a thread for it here Yeah I really wanted to see them live and when I did it started out kinda OK but by the end it was a bit wtf!! Not exactly in a hurry to see them again!2 points

You know what…… Maybe Green Day want to take a bit more time to deliver an album that they feel is great. Maybe they want to release it next year and headline Glastonbury off the back of it. Maybe they have stuff in their personal lives that is more important and needs their attention right now. When the time is right then we’ll hear a new album from them. …. The tail doesn’t wag the dog . Green Day, i trust you. … Take your time…….2 points

Why does every song have to be the best song ever? We should calm our expectations a bit. No one needs to be disappointed just because it's not the best GD song of all time 😅2 points

- Ok, so I thought I found something, but of the risk of making a complete fool out of myself for not paying attention, There's a song called "Happiness is for dummies" that's listed in the SESAC database with a higher number than OYB under GD's catalogue But after closer look it seems that GD wrote (?) a song for Ryan Jillian Santiago (Royal & the Serpent) for a single called "Happines 4 dummies" Even though I can't find any link between them when searching the interwebs. Thought it was something but it's clearly not.1 point

can't blame people for hearing it as "basically the same" tbh. it's in the same key, swung, with the same rhythm except the repeated note at the end, ends on the same note, and is a repeated distorted guitar riff that opens the song. musicians know that's just called rock blues and there's 20 guitarists improving a similar riff as we speak but if it's a lot of things lining up.1 point

Reminds me of when You Irritate Me came out and everyone really loved it and put it on their dream setlists lmao1 point

Do you know if they started from scratch at any point in this project? I hope nothing got cut because those original teasers sounded really good!!!1 point

Don't mind waiting as long as it takes as it's gonna be awesome, if the teasers are anything to go by. Other than the latest official update of it's release early '24, the previous statement says the band are still working on it. Onward and upwards as the GD journey continues. Getting better and better every time from AI, 21stC, and RevRad and next up album 14. Bring it on. Oh yea, FOAM was a side project, a night out, a party. It was needed. Now back to work. Now we are ready for it. Let's roll up our sleeves. Let's see now, a 6 song ep. Wait a minute, we can do better than this let's go for a full album. Well 10 teases done are we ready. No, still writing, more songs flowing, let's put another song on the album and another, this is going to be epic. '24 is gonna be a special year. Well worth the wait.1 point

I think it’s a good song, don’t get the most negative comments going around here. As far as I understood this has been recorded within the Network sessions or around that time, which would make sense, I think there is quite a gap from FOAM style-wise. Probably not a masterpiece, but a good catchy track. If the song is not part of 1972 and they were to play this smart, they should release the song officially, make the lyrics about the hacker who stole the thing, and make a music video/mini-marketing campaign around that concept, would fit perfectly 🙃1 point

Having listened to the song a few times, I can't get it out of me head. Love it. Not convinced with the comment that it's a demo for FOAM though.1 point

I was thinking earlier about how within the last 7 years or so most new green day songs have needed time for me to come around on them. I think that since we're all super fans here and since we've been listening to this band for so long that we immediately expect to be blown away when green day releases a new single or album and a lot of us have grown to be a little too critical. Even when I hear a new song that I feel meh about the song will still get stuck in my head after a few listens, so even if it's mid tier green day it still has staying power. With Revrad I needed multiple listens before that album grew on me, and I came to love that record. I think some of us are too quick to judge without taking everything in first. That said, foam still hasn't grown on me 😂1 point

Have to say the bada bing bit really stuck in my head after listening to it a few times. I live under a rock so I don't know the Pink song people are referring to1 point
