People's reaction after getting a warning because they broke the rules by sharing leaks/asking for leaks after being warned not to11 points
-
Some guy said it so it must be true!!!! 😂 (Probably guessing that because he assumes it was an intentional leak. It was not)8 points

You were given a warning for offering to share the leaked song; which is against the forum rules, as has been posted here multiple times, and is detailed within the big red banner at the top of the forum. If this is still confusing for you, feel free to PM someone on the team for further discussion.7 points

I was thinking earlier about how within the last 7 years or so most new green day songs have needed time for me to come around on them. I think that since we're all super fans here and since we've been listening to this band for so long that we immediately expect to be blown away when green day releases a new single or album and a lot of us have grown to be a little too critical. Even when I hear a new song that I feel meh about the song will still get stuck in my head after a few listens, so even if it's mid tier green day it still has staying power. With Revrad I needed multiple listens before that album grew on me, and I came to love that record. I think some of us are too quick to judge without taking everything in first. That said, foam still hasn't grown on me 😂7 points

There are probably a marketing team to do this checking for unintentional similarities. The two most recent cases happened with Still Breathing, that got co-credited for The Struts, and Brutal Love, co-credited by Sam Cooke. With OEB, I really hope they change the riff, because it's a complete ripoff from Pink. Its the only part that botheres me on the song5 points

So I finally heard the heard the whole song on TikTok!! (Don’t ask me who posted it LOL) Anyway, the guy wrote in the comments that he thinks it will be officially released in a few weeks!!!5 points

Haha!! Well played!!! Is it the mods or are we the ones that are really dangerous? 😉5 points

Having listened to the song a few times, I can't get it out of me head. Love it. Not convinced with the comment that it's a demo for FOAM though.4 points

Nah, only the ones who don’t have enough respect or common decency to follow rules that keep this place from being shut down.4 points

Have to say the bada bing bit really stuck in my head after listening to it a few times. I live under a rock so I don't know the Pink song people are referring to4 points

This is a such a weird situation. From what I think I understand... The song is a post FOAM demo, like maybe 2 years old. It was leaked on discord over a year ago. Many fans sat on the leak, but had it or heard it during that time. Somehow it releaked???? in the last couple of weeks. GD fandom blew their minds out about who had and didn't have it. No official statement from the band or Warner, but a solid attempt to scrub youtube/twitter. But Tumblr and tik-tok ... (Personally, I'm hoping the song was not intended for the next album... but maybe a Bside? Although I'd probably like the song more if it was a part of a larger narrative/story from the album. Also curious, because certain riffs are clear lifts from the pink song, so when that happens, do you just get ahead of that by paying royalties to that artist?? Just wondering.) No album announcement but now expected in early 2024. Like I said, weird situation. (This is when I miss BJA on instagram... lol, that little filterless bastard. 😂)3 points

Sounds like a FOAM track and is very mid. Cannot wait for the new era to begin because it cannot go down from here (right? RIGHT?!!?)2 points

More chance of me dating Jenna Ortega in a few weeks rather than getting a new green day song2 points

If my memory is correct, we've had leaks before. But this time man/ band have gone ape shit. The snippets have been pulled from utube. Not to mention the warnings. Still reckon this was a planned single ahead of, but not necessarily part of, the new album. Just to give us something, even prerecorded. So what happens now? There's millions of GD fans out there. A few of which are not on here lol. And have not heard it. They'll have to release it officially now? Wait, wait, wait. If you do release it as a CD single GD, throw in a few live tracks like the good old days. Thanks2 points

From what I gather, SESAC is the platform where artists register their music for licensing and copyright, so it's as official as it gets. Musicians register their music before release to protect the songs once they're out, so it's not strange that artists have more than one unreleased song in their database for years. But in this case, it did seem a little weird to me that only Billie is credited... even if he did the demo on his own, it would make more sense to add the other members right away seeing as this is clearly intended as a Green Day song. But if they can edit the information later, that would also make sense, I'm just speculating seeing as we don't have much more haha2 points

Listened again (in the morning this time and not after a heavy evening) and yes you are right, the whole lyric and delivery matches. I can totally hear a huge crowd going “badabing badabing whoooah” though, it’d be fun. I love aggressive Billie vocals. I should have been on the cocktail chat last night with LBNB! 😁2 points

Okay, so in the last two days, I have seen more cars with license plates that begin with BJ then I have ever seen in my LIFE! Obviously this means that 1972 is being released soon! 😂2 points

Here's the flow of events that is frustrating to me: 1. Green Day records a song and decides not to release it 2. Song leaks 3. Fans find out it leaks and go crazy over wanting it, expecting it to be the second coming of Jesus Christ. 4. Fans get their hands on it 5. Fans bitch and complain that it isn't great and the band has completely lost it Gee, I wonder why the band decided to not release it...2 points

Well if you listen to muse for example MANY if not ALL their new material has riffs or Melodie’s from other artist and … no one gives a shit so whatever1 point

Just heard the whole song, it’s better than all foam record lol…. But it was not so hard 😂 well I hear too the similarities with pink and iggy pop, but if I listen to the last effort of some well known bands it’s not the song with the most similarity with others I’ve heard lately1 point

Seek and you will find. Especially in license plates. There was someone I had unrequited feeling for with a short name, and I swear their three letter name was on every one. 😄 I still see the word "foam" everywhere I look. It's kind of like seeing the same car you drive.1 point

I’m not sure why the site went down the other day. The bill was paid - but I’m not responsible for any of that stuff so that’s all I can tell you1 point

let's rank every song by them! I'm definitely going to do when I have time. https://tiermaker.com/create/all-green-day-songs-2021-2861741 point

Nah this definitely sounds like a GD demo imo. Not necessarily something that Mike or Tré had anything to do with just yet but it sounds like it's intended for GD. if it ends up being on the album, the completed version will probably have changes made to it and the whole band will probably be credited for songwriting1 point

I get that this song was bound to leak at some point, so they're probably gonna let it slide, but I think it's so shitty to wish for the whole album to leak when it's probably not even finished? I know it's frustrating that the guys started teasing the album way too soon, but their plans and ambitions clearly changed thorough the recording after they brought in Rob and CLA, and I'm glad they're taking their time now after what happened with FOAM. Meanwhile, so many people seem hellbent on ruining this whole project before it even starts because you can't wait half a year. Let them cook! Everyone is asking for amazing songs, fully fleshed out concepts and ambitious marketing, and not even giving them the time they actually need to get it done like they want it, like damn... no wonder they probably hate the fanbase.1 point

Funny seeing all the braggers from a few days ago totally turn heel. So hypocritical.1 point

I like how much heavier this song feels. This song does feel like something you'd hear on the radio in like 2006 so take that however you will. Not bad, I won't mind if it makes it on the new album. Hope all the new songs are heavier like that one1 point
-
I just listend to one eyed bastard and I think it’s quite nice just lyrics are like 6/10 . but overall I think I’m okay if the album sounds like that it’s the right direction and logical when you come from FOAM . if anyone has other lkd songs feel free to DM A LINK1 point

There's a reason why it wasn't released, the band is upset it leaked, and why it has been kept a secret. And you just clearly pointed out that reason.1 point

Depends if you're talking production or mixing. FOAM's mixes generally sound pretty great and surpass the 21CB demos easily, and IMO even something like RevRad, production-wise however not so much - too many wet effects, handclaps, filters etc etc etc.1 point

The best part of the pandemic was when all this great music was coming out1 point

From the 19 seconds I heard, it seems very FOAM-esque. More party music. Different sound but I was kind of hoping they’d get back to Marshall amps and echoing drum thumping.1 point
