Alright, this is also a last chance before I issue warnings for all the stupid bickering and fighting in here. Stop acting like grade schoolers and get over yourselves.11 points

I get that this song was bound to leak at some point, so they're probably gonna let it slide, but I think it's so shitty to wish for the whole album to leak when it's probably not even finished? I know it's frustrating that the guys started teasing the album way too soon, but their plans and ambitions clearly changed thorough the recording after they brought in Rob and CLA, and I'm glad they're taking their time now after what happened with FOAM. Meanwhile, so many people seem hellbent on ruining this whole project before it even starts because you can't wait half a year. Let them cook! Everyone is asking for amazing songs, fully fleshed out concepts and ambitious marketing, and not even giving them the time they actually need to get it done like they want it, like damn... no wonder they probably hate the fanbase.9 points

Okay guys, it really doesn’t matter if it’s “leaked everywhere” at this point, you’ve already been asked a few times not to share/offer/ask for the song here. We have gotten in trouble with this in the past. I’ve given out warnings this round, because you’ve had more than enough chances.7 points

No you just feel the need to be relentlessly annoying, aggressive to other members, self-righteous and flaunt that you broke the forum's rules. Wow you must feel SO important, congrats! 👍 yeah! lying here is my job.7 points

I’m totally blaming @That Dude for this post, his influence is clearly rubbing off on me, but I’ve sussed them out! It’s a concept album about organised crime, a collaboration with P!nk who is Billie’s Moll and they are going to tour together, hence the delay. It’ll be huge.6 points

nearly spit my damn drink out!! 🤣 Oh noooooo. My staaaaaaaatus!! FFS Well I'm keeping my damn mouth shut, that's for sure. 🤐 But also... vendetta is a friend of mine and I know this comment will get under at least two people's skin and I'm so here for it at this point. 🖕 I'm pretty sure they do the demos themselves. They aren't paying someone to engineer, record and mix demos. They have studios space and plenty of engineering knowledge and experience at this point. Still not convinced this is a demo personally.6 points

So the next challenge is to find 2 snippet of two different song. Don't tease a project 2 years before releasing... absolutely nothing. Marketing sucks. I hope the whole album is gonna get leaked.5 points

Maybe OEB is a homage to James Gandolfini https://www.vulture.com/2020/08/james-gandolfini-green-day-fan.html This news was from August 8, 20205 points

Yeah I don't get the outrage people are having over others choosing not to share the song. If the band doesn't want it leaked, it makes perfect sense for people to decide not to leak it. It's out there now for basically everyone to hear so it doesn't even matter but I just don't get it5 points

Those where the days when an album single include up to 3 or even 4 additional tracks. Really loved the live tracks from various live shows around the world. Wish they would start doing that again, please.4 points

I bragged about having it to feel special and close to the band. 🙄 I just really like the energy and melody in the chorus of Sugar Youth. Agree it's too short. I think they put minimum effort into the record for sure. Stab You in the Heart is very well rounded. High energy, great vocals, fun guitar solo section and a very cool outro that differed from the rest of the song. Graffitia is just a gorgeous song. And those harmonies near the end!4 points

Not sure if I'm late on this but I noticed the 12 and 7 second snippets that were uploaded to YouTube of One Eyed Bastard were removed and the channel was deleted. Wonder if it was a change of heart or higher ups got ahold of it.4 points

Okay, so in the last two days, I have seen more cars with license plates that begin with BJ then I have ever seen in my LIFE! Obviously this means that 1972 is being released soon! 😂4 points

I have no idea what songs will be on the new album or if OEB was ever even in contention to make the new album. If it is going to be though, as far as we know this leaked recording pre-dates Cavallo joining the fold so it would make sense that what we’ve heard isn’t the most recent version of the song.4 points

There are actually #, not 2. They can tease whatever they like. Clearly their plans changed, and probably for the better. It's most likely something bigger and better now so there's no reason to be so negative towards them. I hope it doesn't leak at all. Oh do go on, elaborate. Please. 😄 I was working on a TV series and while we were still shooting the first season a teaser trailer leaked. Was chatting with the lead actor about it and he said "nothing in this industry leaks by accident". I miss the days when there were CD singles with b-sides and rarities. It was so exciting to find a single somewhere, look at the track listing and see a song title you didn't recognize. 🥰 Not that I would have been searching far and wide for any of the terrible singles from FOAM but they definitely would have tossed those songs onto the singles.3 points

In my head Dugan doing it is essentially them doing it themselves, he's very close with the band and it's not like they can't afford to pay him for that. He already does all of Billie's throwaway side projects etc. I've said it before and I'll say it again, demo or not demo it's not a CLA mix so it's not something that's going to be final on the record. We also know the FOAMF demos were also engineered and mixed by Chris Dugan so I'm just going based off of that, this has a similar sound to the title track from that too which we know mostly used the demo recordings done by Dugan instead of being re-recorded at a studio with Butch Walker3 points

Oh right! I totally forgot that James Gandolfini was a HUGE Green Day fan so it could be! “He would play the vinyl of dookie in his trailer at work. Totally serious,” “Gandolfini would also sing basket case and make up his own lyrics about HBO and the writers and producers of the sopranos,” “He also named his dog dookie and used it in his email address.”3 points

no need to get aggressive like that. I couldn't find it neither on google nor on youtube. So I am happy he found it. And searching for the song felt like looking for a "lost piece of bible"3 points

Funny seeing all the braggers from a few days ago totally turn heel. So hypocritical.3 points

So you're happy you found it on a site that everyone found on Google? You're acting like you found a lost piece of the bible or some shit get the fuck outta here lmao green day dumpster diving as the songs trash and you're acting like trash .it's funny you're profile says you're 30 🤣3 points

Listened again (in the morning this time and not after a heavy evening) and yes you are right, the whole lyric and delivery matches. I can totally hear a huge crowd going “badabing badabing whoooah” though, it’d be fun. I love aggressive Billie vocals. I should have been on the cocktail chat last night with LBNB! 😁3 points

How did the band (management) reacted when the 21stCB demo leaked in early 2009? Similar pattern?3 points
-
So for an internet dino like me this is just too contorted to follow but just found what I think is fill One Eye Blind with the badabings and yes it’s like the P!nk song but I like it and hooray if it’s indicative if the new album.3 points

I think it’s great too, surprised to see some of the negative comments here.3 points

Yikes yeah I wasn't expecting it to sound that much like Pink, even after seeing some comments on here. I don't feel like that riff fits with GD personally, or at least not this song. I much prefer the chorus. Not a fan of just the piano and vocals in the first verse. It's actively annoying me. The second verse sounds much better. As a side note, the piano gives me horror movie soundtrack vibes I do really really like the chorus. It does sound like Holiday but it still works and the lyrics/melody of the chorus are actually really catchy and sound pretty good. Not a fan of the instrumental/outro parts, they go on too long repetitively and the short bursts of screechy guitar ain't it. If the song gets released/is on an album, I probably won't be listening past the second chorus at all. That last half of the song is skippable as hell and at some points actually difficult to listen to. Lyrically, I'm undecided on it. There's definitely some elements of cringe in there, but surprisingly I actually really like the "Vendetta was a friend of mine, Revenge is sweeter than wine" part even though Vendetta and Revenge are cringe GD buzzwords for me lmao. Overall though, lyrics could definitely be a lot worse. The AYYYYOOOO made me cringe the first time but after a few listens it actually sounds pretty good and is the only part other than the chorus that kinda enjoy. I think overall I do like it but that's mainly just for the chorus. If they are reworking it for a different song, I'd definitely be happy if they got rid of the repetitive instrumentals and that Pink riff and focused on the chorus. Then it'd have potential to be a pretty good song, although nothing groundbreaking.3 points

This makes perfect sense! There is a new subgenre of Punk called Crime Wave and Green Day don't want to miss the bandwagon! Paint This Town Green and Pink: A Mafia Blues Opera! One Eyed Monster One Eyed Bastard One Eyed Savior Born and Raised With One Eye 1972 Eyeballs This is 100% what I was thinking as well. Glad we agree on everything I just typed. 😉2 points

Just listened to it there! Starts off with a really cool verse imo but quickly degenerates into a pretty mediocre holiday rip off. Has a few catchy moments and a cool instrumental section. Production wise it's infinitely better than FOAM, making me think of Revrad. Only complaint is the low end just kinda vanishes at certain points through the main riff. Seriously though wtf is going on with Green Day right now? 2 years of tantra and then 6 months of radio silence, then a full high quality version of a track leaks which was WAY too easy for me to find. Like I was expecting to give my phone syphilis trying to find it but nope! Makes me wonder if we might hear something soon.2 points

Lmao time for another random lil GD-related story from my life: As some of you may know, I own a life-sized cardboard cutout of Billie, however I didn't take it with me when I moved out of my parents house so he's been standing in my parents' living room for the past two years. Well, my mam is getting let go from her job, so her boss went to her house to collect her work laptop and work building pass. My mam has never actually met her boss before as she didn't become her boss until after covid when people were working from home etc. So the boss walks into the house, and just instantly goes "Oh...Hello Billie Joe Armstrong" I always fangirl so hard when people know Billie by name rather than just "the guy from Green Day" lmaooo2 points

Here's the flow of events that is frustrating to me: 1. Green Day records a song and decides not to release it 2. Song leaks 3. Fans find out it leaks and go crazy over wanting it, expecting it to be the second coming of Jesus Christ. 4. Fans get their hands on it 5. Fans bitch and complain that it isn't great and the band has completely lost it Gee, I wonder why the band decided to not release it...2 points

I don't think it's gonna be 1972 related so maybe it can have is own thread. We all know this song has been leaked pretty much everywhere on the internet this morning. So what do you think after the first listen? For me I think it's a fun song. Okay. I can find some FOAM-y sound and some RevRad sound in this one. Anyway, what about you?1 point

I wanted to reach out to the smartest Green Day fans I've seen on the internet to let you know I chose to write about Green Day for Sonicbond's 'On Track' series and now the book, 'Green Day: Every Album, Every Song' is currently available on European websites like Amazon UK, World of Books, Browns Books, WHSmith, Wheelers, Burning Shed, etc. and will be available everywhere next month. You can pre-order at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Thriftbooks, and so on. Links to these sites can be found on my website https://willspevack.journoportfolio.com/ and check out other On Track books at https://www.sonicbondpublishing.co.uk/ The book runs through the entire catalog and briefly touches on side projects, solo albums, live albums, compilations, etc. just like many of the other 'On Track' books. It's stuffed with a lot of fresh analysis and background info about the songs since I made sure to bring new thoughts to the Green Day table I've not seen anywhere else. I think their work deserved a deep analysis - other artists have had song-by-song books. Why not Green Day? The 'On Track' series books are all the same length or I would have added another 50-75 pages that I had written since the band has such a long and storied career. I've been a silent reader community member for some time now and just want to thank you all for making me realize that there are fans in the world who can appreciate this type of Green Day book. If you have questions, comments I will address them when I come around - I love talking Green Day. I also have the time to listen to you whine if you have complaints. LOL Also, I'm posting daily about songs on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Green-Day-Every-Album-Every-Song-Book-1004624630155911 point
