Exactly, and in the interest of all that is right and proper, let us quickly reframe what is actually happening here: 1) Alf has consciously dropped the hint Saviors, nothing more, nothing else. 2) There is this faceless online person (who clearly does not respect the privacy of other people) who is alleging without proof, as this hypothetical proof would NOT be ok to share anyway, that Alf has claimed it is the album's title. 3) Alf has neither confirmed, nor denied this. So that he has "denied" anything is a lie. And quite honestly, he doesn't need to respond to this nonsense anyway. The end.

To be fair there is a telephone game going on here. Jason is referring to what @Little Boy Named Booze wrote here, which is based on a random post on Reddit that has been deleted. Which if I have to guess was posted by someone using their imagination based on the discussion going on this board. Which based on @Alf reaction is not what they heard in the first place. I think what Alf and other people heard is accurate, but is not what was posted on Reddit.

Despite Saviors, all the rest of the song list is wrong. American Dream and Stop This Shit were jokes to see how far the info posted here would go. The others you must have read too much on our posts

Jason from the other Green Day forum said this info isn’t accurate and there is no album title picked yet. Logically, that means we’re still very far away because likely artwork and marketing haven’t started yet. Seems we got our hopes up.

I really hate to held information, because there is no point to be a fan and don't share info and discuss it with other fans. But it's not up to me and I really hope the band start the mkt for the new album soon and shed some light on everything

As a brit, I'm gonna be annoyed if the album title is "Saviors" because I won't be able to look at it without thinking that it's spelled wrong

Yes, it is undeniable that something has changed. You can't write that Billie wasn't a social guy. With both Twitter and Instagram, he has always tried to be close to the fans with many moments of daily life (videos with dogs, with his children, with his wife, in the studio, playing at home, moments of reflection...). Things changed exactly when his son was affected by cancel culture and I well remember "fans" who went to Billie's profile, demanding that he talk about those facts. And this has also happened here, on this forum, by the same people who now complain about his absence. And I hope he will talk about that with the new album. I expect something strong even in terms of lyrics and I sincerely hope that he decides to talk about cancel culture and the rotten use of social media made of hate, insults, defamation and threats. Because you can disagree with what a person says (like with Britt) but you can't go to that person (or on THEIR profiles) and wish them death or commit suicide which happened with both Billie's son, than with Mike's wife. So I hope the new album talks about it and I honestly look forward to all the interviews (especially kerrang, nme, rolling stone) with some uncomfortable questions.

What do you mean at least a year away? Like we've heard early 2024 as being the most likely release for the album but that's not "at least a year away". Is there some rule somewhere that if there isn't yet a confirmed album title that there's not going to be anything for at least 12 months?? I honestly don't see the band delaying the album to mid 2024 Ik it's probably a long shot but the follow up to FOAMF, their worst album to date imo, being a rock opera / concept album that is as good as AI/21CB would be a fantastic return to form. I'm not expecting that, I just want a genuinely good GD album

That's what I'm saying. The insiders are usually smart enough to keep quiet when info they receive is isnt fully trustworthy. Something legit might actually be around the corner. But I've been hurt to many times to give in fully

So Saviors is most likely the title or part of the title of the lead single. Normally I would say they should have an album title defined before launching a lead single. But with the record release almost a year away I’m not sure if any of these rules apply (assuming that both people here and Jason from GDfm have still accurate info and record name is still not set in stone). I’m still guessing/assuming that if song titles start to be spread around, and to multiple people in different part of the world, it means something is moving in the promotion machine.

What the hell it was on Reddit like half an hour ago and I can't find the post now. The OP was 100% sure about Saviors being a song title + the album name. And heard rumors about American Dream being another song.

Wasn't it just a few days ago when we were all screaming bloody murder for some news? Like a thunderstorm in the middle of a drought. Wild speculation time but Saviors do seem to be a recurring theme that Billie Joe comes back to from time to time. American Idiot was a broadside against GWB's America and the people who saw him as a kind of savior (if you don't believe me watch Jesus Camp). Christian and Gloria wanted to be each other's savior in 21st Century Breakdown. I think a lot of people in the good ol US of A are looking for a savior right now be it Elon, Bernie, or Trump because of how fucked everything is. And I think people with a bit of a savior complex like Steve Jobs or even Obama have rubbed Billie Joe the wrong way. But aren't Green Day themselves saviors in a way? Going on stage and spreading their own gospel. Seems like strong subject matter to write about if nothing else.
