Staying away from social media is the smartest thing Billie's done in years.13 points

Yeah, I know... at this point of their career they’re like a senior dog to me. It’s not gonna run and jump around as much as it used to, maybe it’s gonna pee on the floor sometimes, but you still love your dog, you know9 points

It's an interview from January 2023. Their plans changed. The other interview was from August 2nd and said early 2024.4 points

I really and seriously hope they don't include songs like Pollyana on album 14. Anything but that plss4 points

And this is why Billie's silence on social media is so defeaning! We got spoiled hearing from him directly that now hearing solely from "staff" makes it so sterile!4 points

They haven't put this much time into an album since 21CB, which is sparking some interest in me, because it seemed Billie made it clear he wasn't interested in putting as much work into new music and I've changed my expectations accordingly, but perhaps this album is going to be subvert them4 points

Green Day will announce “New single coming Sept 19th” and @GDFan2019 will still be like “I think a single is coming on August.”3 points

So I was listening to the radio this morning and I heard a commercial for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival and they said Green Day is going to be there!!! I wonder if that means anything, like, will we have a new single by then?3 points

CLA confirms expected 2023 release https://www.musicconnection.com/qa-with-chris-lord-alge/?fbclid=IwAR1NmGRmLJl0vfM3F8cfUCh7fqfksDDwDbP0md8OfqXH4X1DSEB827SlJZs The new Green Day record [expected in late 2023], (the band and I have really upped our game). As far as mixing, I’ve got the new Green Day record [expected out end of 2023] that we’re almost done with. It’ll probably come out toward the end of the year.2 points

Ooohhh, I’m off to London for a few days and suddenly the thought of bumping into Billie Joe popped into my head at that!2 points

IHeart is the perfect place to play a brand new song 😉 A song featuring Usher and Justin Beiber. "Oh Baby, Yeah!" They perform together for 5 hours as a big flashing wall of 1 Minute signs flash on all jumbo screens. Finally, Mike Dirnt tackles Jillie Bow, who is about to play "1972" for the 7th time. We get an announcement that Fat Mike is the new bassist for Green Day and Travis Barker the drummer.2 points

The 90s Punk stuff starts at the 26:40 mark, but the whole thing is interesting. Green Day have some cool stuff in there. This would be a cool meet up for GDC one day.2 points

i don't know, but something in this project tells me that this is something special, or at least the entire staff think that way. the team behind (Rob, CLA), they're taking their time with this. like polishing a diamond. the trilogy suffer so much with not taking the right time to mature ideas. i think something changed in july or august 22, wich cause them to stop teasing with the thought that this projetct will not be released so soon than they thought in the begining.2 points

As long as we don’t get another “pure, uncut rock” album complete with billboards with lines of coke 🙄 I’m all for a whole album of songs like Lady Cobra or Makeout Party but really guys, you think FOAM is “Rock & Roll”? Meet Me on the Roof sounds like FBHT covering Billy Joel for a Disney movie soundtrack.2 points

This album better be good because I swear to god if it's another "let party and snort cocaine" album I'm done with them. Let say the album drop in January or February. I guess it's possible to have a single + announcement in October/November... Fuck I'm disappointed.2 points

Browsing through my most recent live videos I recorded last year, it makes me miss the old Billie telling storys and jokes inbetween songs. And where is the toilet paper gun at?2 points

Dude that's not going to happen. September is probably the earliest we might get an announcement and/or single. And even if we do get a single in September, that probably means that there's going to be a pretty long gap between single and album. Because the album isn't coming until 20241 point
-
Any sort of confirmation probably isn’t coming until September at least. We’re probably headed for the same stupid promotional cycle at FOAM.1 point

Strange. Maybe someone jumped the gun and aired the commercial too soon1 point

But they did post that TikTok in November with the caption, "WTF WHAT a year ⚡️❤️🔥🥰 seeing you all at festivals, in between working recording our record in London & LA, doing a HELLA MEGA European tour playing the US East Coast, Chicago and Florida, San Francisco, shows in Brazil and Argentina. Playing Singapore to Austin Texas to Los Angeles charity show with Billy Idol, Jon Fogerty and The Who"1 point

I remember Billie saying something similar to "This is (some of) the best work we've ever done" referring to 21CB, the trilogy and RevRad. Whatever you think of those albums, it's clear that he says this kind of stuff basically all the time. Maybe he did believe that each of those albums were amongst the best of their material at that time but it doesn't necessarily mean anything. I don't recall him ever saying anything like that regarding FOAMF but I feel like if he was asked, he would probably have said something similar, whether he believes that FOAMF is a great album or not. He's not gonna say "Eh. You know. It's OKAY. Not the best". That's not going to excite people much for a new album cycle. I wouldn't think too much about other people involved with the album necessarily saying the same thing either.1 point

For me the wait between AI and 21CB just seemed to go on forever and ever! We've had The Network and No Fun Mondays as well as FOAM and I'm just here waiting. I love GD but it will happen when it happens1 point

Fair enough lol. It was a substantial enough update that it made its way outside of GDC. Genuine question. Are you guys okay in here? I mean I probably know the answer to that but like this thread is literally just a giant group chat. Only like 15% of the conversation here is actually real discussion/news about the album. Idk how you all do this shit every day when there's literally zero updates. Opening this thread is like watching Groundhog Day. Did Bill Murray teach you nothing??? You all keep saying you're tired of the redundancy, but you keep doing it! Do you guys have jobs? That was a joke, but I am also curious. I feel like this can't be healthy. You're all probably better off giving this thread a rest when there really is no discussion to be had. If you keep thinking that something will happen every day, then it's really gonna mess with your heads. I know this isn't everyone, but the point still stands. It has to be exhausting to play this guessing game over and over again. Honestly I bet if you give yourselves a break we'll actually hear some real news. Don't get me wrong, I know people come here to talk to other fans and pass the time (and that one dude who just shitposts but honestly respect because he's providing the only entertainment in this ongoing dumpster fire), but I feel like you're only making it worse for yourselves. This isn't meant to be taken too seriously, but I feel like it was an important observation to be had. By all means keep fucking around, I'm not here to dictate anything. I know that this thread is multi purpose, but like seriously please take care of yourselves. The wait will be less painless if you don't think about it as much. Obsessing over it won't make the album come any quicker. There's a reason why people say a watched pot never boils...1 point

The question is why they’re so bad at marketing. It’s not like they’re new at this. To quote Dr. Evil “throw us a friggin bone here”.1 point

I still believe my friend. This is what the Green Day management said. I'm pretty sure their plan changed. They booked them in early January so maybe in February things changed... i really don't know.1 point
