They haven't put this much time into an album since 21CB, which is sparking some interest in me, because it seemed Billie made it clear he wasn't interested in putting as much work into new music and I've changed my expectations accordingly, but perhaps this album is going to be subvert them

Green Day will announce “New single coming Sept 19th” and @GDFan2019 will still be like “I think a single is coming on August.”

So I was listening to the radio this morning and I heard a commercial for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival and they said Green Day is going to be there!!! I wonder if that means anything, like, will we have a new single by then?

i don't know, but something in this project tells me that this is something special, or at least the entire staff think that way. the team behind (Rob, CLA), they're taking their time with this. like polishing a diamond. the trilogy suffer so much with not taking the right time to mature ideas. i think something changed in july or august 22, wich cause them to stop teasing with the thought that this projetct will not be released so soon than they thought in the begining.

This album better be good because I swear to god if it's another "let party and snort cocaine" album I'm done with them. Let say the album drop in January or February. I guess it's possible to have a single + announcement in October/November... Fuck I'm disappointed.

Dude that's not going to happen. September is probably the earliest we might get an announcement and/or single. And even if we do get a single in September, that probably means that there's going to be a pretty long gap between single and album. Because the album isn't coming until 2024

It's kind of cool in a way. Like Billie, Mike and Tre just want to do the music side of things and forget the rest. For me the wait between AI and 21CB just seemed to go on forever and ever! We've had The Network and No Fun Mondays as well as FOAM and I'm just here waiting. I love GD but it will happen when it happens

Well I spoke with my friend at lunch. He swear to me that's what Green Day management told them in early January. He can't explain it either but he doesn't really give a fuck honestly 😂 He's just happy that he got them for his festival lol. He says it's not the first time they got told something by an artist that didn't happen. Moral of the story don't trust me anymore.

True, but at least Blink has been giving album updates via Instagram and their Discord. Travis recently said they were wrapping up the album before the tour and that's at least better than nothing. Green Day could do some sort of update even if its news we don't want to hear.

i learned to be patient with teasing stuff thanks to rockstar games and their gta game in february 2022 they literally wrote one sentence about gta6 being in development ... radio-silence since then and its already been 10 years since the last gta game i am ok with a new GD lp in 2024 as long as its good (pls no foam again) and as long as they tour again and you are actually able to get tickets (not like blink182 ☹️ )

I still believe my friend. This is what the Green Day management said. I'm pretty sure their plan changed. They booked them in early January so maybe in February things changed... i really don't know.

This is disappointing I'm gonna hear the same setlist at the FEQ I guess.
