  1. Hey! That’s my artwork! Thanks.

  2. That people who are different from you don’t have the right to exist? There’s a name for people who think that way and yes they’re shitty people if they can’t live and let live With all due respect you don’t know what you’re talking about and need to educate yourself on what age appropriate gender affirming care is for children with gender dysmorphia.

  3. This isn't the thread for this, but your statement is completely off-base and inaccurate. Children are not just being "subjected" to this stuff. That's a myth fabricated by one segment of the population. It only is a thing if said child is experiencing feelings that they need help dealing with. And in many cases, schools are where children actually trust the adults they are around. Parents who are overly concerned about this are REALLY shitty parents who don't have the trust of their children.

  4. You're right...what we need are more fake tracklists that have absolutely nothing to do with the album...

  5. Seriously guys, can we please stay on topic? Let's really just stay away from politics here, unless of course the album ends up being another political rock opera.

  6. Just stumble upon a comment from Mike's wife about trans issues on instagram.... is she dumb? I wonder if this affect their friendship or the album project. I hope Mike don't take her wife side on this subject. Because Green Day wouldn't agree with this shit. Seriously Britt, shut the fuck up.

  7. Actually, science acknowledges that their feelings about their gender are legitimate and it has nothing to do with their surroundings. You are spewing dangerous tropes that have been surrounding the LGBTQ+ population for quite awhile and are consistently and regularly proven to be inaccurate. I kindly suggest that you educate yourself and maybe actually talk to some people that deal with this everyday because, you know, they live it. If you don't, you're literally just an asshole with baseless and easily refutable opinions.

  9. Ok let's get this thread back on track... Mike's birthday is coming up, and people around here seem to think that birthdays mean something... Well Mike's birthday is also Star Wars day. A New Hope was released in 1977, so if the album is 1972 themed, then perhaps the album's theme is about something that happened 5 years before A New Hope, and according to the official canon timeline the shows Andor and Rebels take place 5 years before A New Hope, so the new Green Day album will be released on Star Wars day and it will be about forming a rebel alliance, Revrad part 2 confirmed... 1972 will be Revrad in space

  10. Mike is very good friends with laura jane grace and he is a big LGBT+ supporter so I wouldn't take his wife's view as his own, she is entitled to believe whatever she wants to believe (even though i strongly disagree with what she is saying/suggesting because i'm trans myself) let's get back to talking about music instead of culture war stuff 🥰

  11. I don’t think this type of political talk is appropriate for this thread. Let’s talk circles about 1972, not politics.

  12. Whether you are right or wrong or agree or disagree …….this isn’t relevant in a thread about Green Day’s new album.

  14. I just read somewhere that Queens of the Stone Age should release an album in june, which hasn't been announced yet. Maybe we can still have hope for an album in the summer?

  15. It's not an attempt at a fake just fan artwork. It's pretty good. I certainly couldn't do any better I do find like 75% of fan artwork, costumes, and tattoos on the subreddit to be completely cringe. I guess it just comes with having such a young fanbase

  16. This is obviously fake, but it's one of the best concepts I've seen so far.

  19. And again...this isn't actually happening. Children aren't just out there getting surgery or "treatment" in order to alter their physical appearance. Again...this is a giant myth being propagated by a small segment of the population. Gender affirming surgery is typically only done for people after a certain age, and even then it is after A LOT of conversation with trained medical professionals. Furthermore, it has an EXTREMELY low rate of people who have 2nd thoughts or regret their choice...like...ridiculously low when compared to almost ANY other surgical procedure. So again...a small amount of loud idiots are making up shit that isn't even happening.

  20. I don't think that's an issue. It is just her opinion and if it affects their friendsip thats pretty lame and would be surprising that they have gone together for so long and argue over a sexuality BS. What did she say anyways? XD

  21. If friends of 40 years can’t overcome a difference in opinion, that would be sad.

  22. Sure, the last time we got a teaser was last August, but the last time we heard anything about the new album was back in November when they posted on TikTok with this caption, “What a year it‘s been, playing festivals and recording our record in London and LA!”

  26. I wanted to reach out to the smartest Green Day fans I've seen on the internet to let you know I chose to write about Green Day for Sonicbond's 'On Track' series and now the book, 'Green Day: Every Album, Every Song' is currently available on European websites like Amazon UK, World of Books, Browns Books, WHSmith, Wheelers, Burning Shed, etc. and will be available everywhere next month. You can pre-order at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Thriftbooks, and so on. Links to these sites can be found on my website https://willspevack.journoportfolio.com/ and check out other On Track books at https://www.sonicbondpublishing.co.uk/ The book runs through the entire catalog and briefly touches on side projects, solo albums, live albums, compilations, etc. just like many of the other 'On Track' books. It's stuffed with a lot of fresh analysis and background info about the songs since I made sure to bring new thoughts to the Green Day table I've not seen anywhere else. I think their work deserved a deep analysis - other artists have had song-by-song books. Why not Green Day? The 'On Track' series books are all the same length or I would have added another 50-75 pages that I had written since the band has such a long and storied career. I've been a silent reader community member for some time now and just want to thank you all for making me realize that there are fans in the world who can appreciate this type of Green Day book. If you have questions, comments I will address them when I come around - I love talking Green Day. I also have the time to listen to you whine if you have complaints. LOL Also, I'm posting daily about songs on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Green-Day-Every-Album-Every-Song-Book-100462463015591

  29. In many states, someone can get surgery as early as 16. Guess it depends on if someone believes that’s considered a child or not. In many states, 16 years olds do have the ability to consent technically. You are right that most cases don’t involve surgery (modifying even clothes can resolve dysphoria in most cases) and few regret it, which is great.

  30. The core question of “Should children be able to get procedures or treatment to alter their physical appearance?” really breaks down to the question of “Can children consent?” which is the core disagreement and, as of now, an opinion. 1. I said people’s belief, not that trans people never existed. They did exist. 2. The KKK were some of the first groups to endorse women’s suffrage. Your point is basically that if Hitler liked pickles, you are bad if you also like pickles.

  31. History has always been unkind to minorities, trans people have always existed whether people want to acknowledge it or not, there was a sex institution built in Germany in the early 1900s to research this kind of thing and then it was destroyed by the Nazis in an attempt to erase us, and currently some members of the US government are also trying to erase us by legislating us out of existence. Nazis are still protesting trans people and drag queens, so people posting anti trans shit online are seriously taking the same stance as the Nazis do, which definitely makes someone a shitty person https://www.hrc.org/resources/seven-things-about-transgender-people-that-you-didnt-know Ok, you may be a different person now, that's to be expected, it's part of growing up, but in your personal growth have you questioned your gender at all or have you always been sure of it? Being unsure is ok, people should feel free to explore who they are, but they shouldn't have to wait a certain age to explore that, especially after the irreversible changes that come from "growing up naturally". No one is forcing an agenda on kids, what's happening is kids are brave enough to talk to their parents about their gender and then typically after seeing a therapist the parents will make decisions with their children and medical professionals as to what's best for them at that age. No one is going around "mutilating children" as certain politicians like to say, those kinds of surgeries aren't permitted until you're over 18, and even then they usually require a lot of prerequisites to make sure it's what the person truly wants/needs. Teens can be given puberty blockers to pause puberty until they're old enough to make the decision and be sure of it. States are currently trying to take away rights for even trans adults to receive hormone replacement therapy, and states like Texas and Florida are trying to steal your child from you if you let them come out as transgender, and Florida wants to take your child if you as an adult with your own legal free will are transgender. The shit these states are doing definitely seem like fascism to me, but I didn't call Brittney a fascist, and I think the stuff she's posting is ignorant, not common sense. Of course people are free to disagree with each other, but when the government is trying to take rights away from a certain group of people then a line has been crossed and things have gone too far. I know this is very off topic but I felt a need to reply, this is the last I'll be posting about it in this thread

  32. That’s not what my point was. I’m saying that throwing away 60% of the US is really reactionary. That number isn’t anything to do with someone’s right to exist. It’s related to whether people believe that it is a biologically sound concept. I’m not saying I agree with the 60% since I do believe in “live and let live” and generally don’t care what people do as long as they aren’t hurting people (the key here). People are capable of supporting but not endorsing, by the way. Like not agreeing with someone’s choice but supporting their right to make that choice. I’m just saying that calling 60% of the country shitty people based on one opinion is judgmental and antisocial. I have friends with lots of different opinions and I love them too much to write them off over an opinion or who they married, and I’d imagine the band feels the same way.

  33. Moral of the story: 1972 isn't out yet because of Britt and her shitty transphobic post.
    1 point
  34. So 60% of America are shitty people for believing something that has been believed for 100k years? I’m not saying they’re right, but you’re writing off most people just for not believing what you do.
    1 point
  35. Oof, I just looked at her profile and if you click the "uproar xx xy" thing on her profile there's a ton of transphobic posts, so fucking lame. And it's not a "difference of opinion" thing, she's being a bully and posting shit about trans people being mentally ill. She definitely seems like a shitty person

  38. I think the only significant differences are the pickups. The 2018 model has Humbuckers, the others do have P90 which are hum-reducing. In comparison to the current regular model, these have classic P90. The shape is quite similar now. The BJA models used to be a bit closer to the shape of the 1950s model, but now the regular Juniors do have this shape again I think.

  40. Thanks so much! It was a load of fun and I had to make sure it wasn't just rehashing the same old stuff - I don't like getting too technical with the music side but I think I found some new elements that hadn't been discussed. I did dive deep with the lyrical analysis so the albums got a fresh perspective - like Nimrod being an album filled with marriage problems and Billie Joe's first problems with alcohol-at least half a dozen alcohol references when including the B-sides. Or how a change to a major label drastically altered the lyrics that went from vulnerable bedroom sadness to angry bedroom boredom to the physical gory metaphors used in Insomniac etc. The number of pages is set by the publisher and Green Day's 200 plus songs take up most of the book so the side projects, solo stuff, DVDs, and live material only got a little room. I chose most of the photos - my favorite might be the cop car in mid-air from the Walking Contradiction video - but I was somewhat ill during the finalizing so the publishing company Sonicbond helped me complete that section and they presented it well. One photo I couldn't get in was Billie Joe holding a big piece of mud with hay sticking out of it at Woodstock 94. You can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/100462463015591/photos/a.100538206341350/121079137620590/ For the book cover, I had Kerplunk, Dookie, American Idiot, and Revolution Radio as the 4 albums to represent each era but they switched out 'Kerplunk' for '21st Century Breakdown' - maybe cause it goes better with the color scheme. Thanks again for the positive feedback!

  44. Right. I'm hoping for a single release latest on May 26th Friday. If not, I wont be expecting until late August. As for release of the album, I still think it will be sometime during September-October rather than a winter or spring 2024 release. Just waiting and watching...

  48. The last two times that I remember Billie getting one of these guitars customized by the same guy have been 1. Just about a month before the revrad was announced. 2. About a month before Hella Mega tour started. I’m pretty sure this is also the same guy the customized his silver sparkle junior too. I mean I’m not saying that tomorrow we’re going to have an announcement, but within the next 2 months I could see something happening.

  49. Someone posted this comment on greendayinc Instagram in reference to the new album … It's done. But now new label needed to flesh out the deal and also changed management. Then getting the rights of reprise for royalties on tours off Warner bros, court filings, artwork designs, manufacturing ready to go etc. most records only take 6 months but they don't have all this to deal with. Image rights signed back too. Then new label has to pay a small bit to lookout and back to reprise at gigs etc. I'm confident of a summer single autumn album
