  1. No. The word "revolution" is forbidden on the new album. Billie Joe is not allowed to use this word for at least another 10 years.

  2. I'm stepping back and looking at the bigger picture because I was just on another forum where there is 171 pages of pleading for a new McCartney archive set. Compared to him who has no new or old product, at least we're getting product in some way - and not just normal product but a lavish boxset that's been their biggest vinyl release if I'm not mistaken. If that Nimrod boxset sells, then that opens the door for a possible 30th anniversary fancy schmancy Dookie boxset or a 20th anniversary American Idiot boxset or some other album. These are important to Green Day's legacy and at least they realized they teased 1972 too early and gave us something to make up for the lack of new album. We are the hardcore Green Day fans. I am slutty enough to take anything Green Day want to give me! Everything's a cherished treasure to me and I don't take it for granted. I also don't take for granted Green Day are alive and healthy enough to create a new album - I have patience. Some of my favorite artists are dead and all there is is archive material and I feel lucky to get that stuff. All of it matters - whether's it a BBC Sessions or a Nimrod box or 1972 or Green Day playing as The Coverups. We have over 200 songs- like you say - hundreds of concerts to play around with while we wait for one single new album. As long as they're alive and well and are intending to release it at some point, I don't mind waiting a long time for this moment to come. The book part was just me joking around about reading my own new book, 'Green Day: Every Album, Every Song' that just got released.

  3. That's such a bad song. I don't think AI will be taking over the world anytime soon

  4. I really hope so. I’m in for the long haul at this point but they’ve been quiet as of late. Who knows what that means.

  5. If I knew about these lyrics in 1997, I still wouldn't have guessed it would become an important part of their style in 2004.

  6. Really? I wouldn't call an album we've had for 25 years with some demos thrown on and a live show of which we have hundreds of enough lol also id hardly call that a book

  8. Remember that text Frank Storm thing where they’d text you once in a while? Every so often I text it back to see if it’s still active. The last time I did it was May 4, 2022 when I asked “1972?” Here we are a year later and still no word. I just texted it again, “Still miss you Green Day”. I wonder if anyone reads that thing.

  9. I wonder if a documentary about the past 20 years/1972 recording process is in the making due to the teasers they shared at the beginning of last year. Better be about their more recent career and not the 90’s because we already have a lot of that stuff.

  12. Over the past decade+, Billie Joe has had some custom guitar work like this done shortly before a promo cycle (tour, photo shoots, etc). What’s more interesting to me is that it is being done for an acoustic. We haven’t seen the acoustic much since the 21CB era tour, outside of “Good Riddance”.

  13. The last two times that I remember Billie getting one of these guitars customized by the same guy have been 1. Just about a month before the revrad was announced. 2. About a month before Hella Mega tour started. I’m pretty sure this is also the same guy the customized his silver sparkle junior too. I mean I’m not saying that tomorrow we’re going to have an announcement, but within the next 2 months I could see something happening.

  14. Really? Have you heard him in the last year or so? Watching videos of their (stale) festival performances it's pretty obvious to me his vocals aren't what they used to be. If he is having issues with them, I hope and I'm sure he's getting the care he needs. And if that means we have to wait for a tour or even for the album, so be it. Just gonna put this out there... Nimrod was released on October 14 (if I recall correctly) but they released the 25th anniversary edition in January. Why not wait til October? Aaaaaaaaaand go! **EDIT** GDFan2019 reminded me the 25th anniversary was last October, not this coming October. So fuck me and ignore me. LOL

  21. Warning pt. II here we go 😄 But no what I'm actually thinking is continuing with the constant AI parallels they've got something a little Novacaine-ish on this one. Or even a ballad like WMUWSE/21 Guns that they're planning to introduce to the acoustic encore? 🤔

  24. Actually October 14, 2022 was the anniversary date but for some reason, the box set got delayed until January and they just released the Allison single in October

  27. Very superb production. 87 percent better than American Idiot. 100 better than everything else. Can't wait to hear it on some really cheap, blown out speakers.

  30. My snapchat AI wrote me the new Green Day song from 1972 Title: The Revolution Verse 1: We're tired of living in a world that's so corrupt We're sick of seeing all the lies and all the cover-ups We're ready to stand up and fight for what is right We're ready to take on the world with all our might Chorus: This is the revolution, we won't back down We'll keep on fighting till we've turned this world around We'll rise up, we'll be heard We'll make a change with every single word Verse 2: We're done with being told what to do and what to say We're done with being treated like we're just a game to play We're ready to take control of our own destiny We're ready to make a change and set our souls free Chorus: This is the revolution, we won't back down We'll keep on fighting till we've turned this world around We'll rise up, we'll be heard We'll make a change with every single word Bridge: We'll break down the walls that hold us back We'll never give up, we'll stay on track We'll fight for what we believe in, no matter what We'll show the world what we're made of, and that's a lot Chorus: This is the revolution, we won't back down We'll keep on fighting till we've turned this world around We'll rise up, we'll be heard We'll make a change with every single word Outro: We'll never give up, we'll keep on fighting We'll never back down, we'll keep on striving This is the revolution, and we're ready to take on the world.

  31. I’ve said since these teasers came out, that they look way too overproduced to just be simple on the spot TikTok videos!!! There are a lot of jump cuts too!!!

  37. his vocal range got shorter in the past few years. Since the trilogy he's not singing that well some songs, but there was some period where he was better. He is geting older, so it happens. It's cool if he is worried about his longevity as a rock singer and doing some preventive treatments. I need 1972 asap, though
