  2. FF announced an album for June 2nd yesterday.

  3. I’m still thinking at best it’ll be a October release for the album and a winter US tour, maybe similar to RevRad. I don’t think we’ll see them over in Europe until summer/fall 2024

  4. First off, delete if not allowed in this section. My dad passed away three days ago after a battle with cancer and I’ve been put in charge of trying to make playlist of songs for the luncheon and we scatter his ashes. The playlist is eclectic so far is eclectic with his faves (50s songs such as Beep Beep by The Playmates to anything by the Offspring. To then fam added Faith Hill and Flogging Molly) and I’m thinking Wake Me Up When September Ends or Good Riddance but have been wondering if there are more cause those seem almost too on the nose to me.

  5. Gonna see them on July in Milwaukee and man I’m really really begging that a new song at least gets released by that time. Finger crossed 🤞

  6. he also said he hates long songs... a man who plays Jesus of Suburbia on every concert. Musicians just say stuff

  8. If Green Day had any sense they’d be taking advantage of 4/20 and wishing their fans a happy green day. They need to co-opt that and slap their brand on it

  9. Sorry for your loss. Losing a dad is hard and as someone said whatever you play will always remind you of that day, in both a good and bad way. My dad’s been gone a long time and there’s one song I still find hard to listen to. But you might find it comforting. Do what will work for you and your memories.

  10. Kevin posted about the fifth anniversary of the Longshot's Love is for Losers Then his cat climbed on it

  11. I read that too. Not sure how reliable that source is but usually the band tour Mexico and South America 1 year after the album come out. So I'm guessing they will be there by the end of next year or so.

  12. A big page from Mexico that always post about some shows in advance, posted suggesting Green Day will play there in 2024.

  13. I thought they will be playing in Quebec in July to promote a new album? So there should be at least one single out by May, June?

  14. August if it’s a fall release, If we’re expecting the typical 2-3 month gap from first single to album release. I’m just keeping my hopes as low as possible for now on it being any time soon, I’d rather be surprised than bored to death waiting on the release when it’s not confirmed

  17. 1972 project is like the spaceX starship: rapid unscheduled disassembly before stage separation. 💥🎆🚀

  19. The FEQ said this morning they knew about the new Foo Fighters album coming out in June when they booked them for the festival in July. So what my friend told me about Green Day management is still pretty relevant.

  20. It's from Turn It Around, nothing new.

  21. I can't remember if Jason Freese, like his brotherJosh, works/tours with lots of other bands. Does anyone know? Edit: just answered my own question. Seems he's also worked with a lot of other bands in the past

  24. Dang, that spark of hope lost. Someone on the other Green Day forum (the one that doesn’t forget to pay its bills) said some Mexican concert series accounts tweeted that Green Day is setting up a Mexico tour in 2024. They also said that means album is coming soon, although I’m not sure why that would indicate that.

  25. It's not GD related, I guess.

  26. So announcement 1.5 months before the album. Compared to other announcements, this is almost like a surprise album drop. And for non-GDC folk, Green Day's new album will be a total surprise as well. So yes, could still be on track.

  27. I'm so, so sorry. I lost my dad last year too, it's so damn hard. I feel you. I listened to "No One Knows" a lot, I think it could be a wonderful choice too. Maybe the lyrics not so much, but the overall atmosphere. The beautiful intro, the harmonies... 💔

  31. They had no choice, they tried and failed multiple times to get approval for a site in Oakland!!!!

  32. Oh that sucks. Poor Oakland. These greedy team owners

  33. Billie is ashamed of the name of the band, so doubt it.

  35. its 2003 all over again the nearly-finished 1972 lp probably got stolen again, we all know what the means (AI part 2 in 2024) oh and happy 420 btw

  36. Guys, it doesn't matter. The new album can't be released before the music video for Forever Now is done and published. And that was teased 6 years ago. It doesn't make any sense to put out a new album first (FOAM doesn't count because it's shit) 😏

  37. Clearly the original 1972 that was recorded in London was a different project than what we’re getting now. The whole 1972 thing stopped around last August even though they continued working in the studio. I hope journalists are clued in enough when they interview them to ask what the story was and why this project seemed to evolve and take so long.

  41. Who thinks they could get their hand on the masters? Like, not steal them. Just alter the shape of the door lock, stealthily swoop in and change the geographic location of the master to another place of residence on accident. No crime there. Just atoms moving atoms.

  42. I just hope the album is not in development hell
    1 point
  43. They clearly changed their plans and the teasing was probably for the previous plan. All we can hope for is booze to be right.

  45. So far, I haven't seen Mike Dirnt read this post. Tre Cool scrolled by it and didn't react but Billie...I'm worried. I think he's considering not releasing the album because of this...🤦‍♂️ 😄 Wait, Billie Joe is getting a bagel bite. It's too hot, no way he can sing now.
    1 point
  46. Well Mike is posting on his Instagram his every move.

  47. If I knew my fans were stalking my every move, I’d never want to release a record for them.

  49. Green Day - Alison (Acoustic) Billie Joe solo electric version. Branded as "Acoustic" on the 7" I can upload raw files to Mega tomorrow. The vinyl as you can probably tell, is so noisy and lofi that it's just hard to listen to without some EQ and filtering applied. It is what it is. The full band version...that side of the vinyl skips like hell. I'll take some more time to edit it but it won't be clean. It's probably pertinent to wait another month or so for the formal release (hopefully they are the same version).
