  1. In Green Day terms “probably” easily could mean 2025.

  2. If Green Day had any sense they’d be taking advantage of 4/20 and wishing their fans a happy green day. They need to co-opt that and slap their brand on it

  3. This coming from YOU? You see a rabbit emoji and all the sudden the album coming out on Easter

  4. The FEQ said this morning they knew about the new Foo Fighters album coming out in June when they booked them for the festival in July. So what my friend told me about Green Day management is still pretty relevant.

  5. Guys, it doesn't matter. The new album can't be released before the music video for Forever Now is done and published. And that was teased 6 years ago. It doesn't make any sense to put out a new album first (FOAM doesn't count because it's shit) 😏

  6. 1972 project is like the spaceX starship: rapid unscheduled disassembly before stage separation. 💥🎆🚀

  8. God I hate how Green Day approaches album releases. How are they still so bad at this?

  9. Clearly the original 1972 that was recorded in London was a different project than what we’re getting now. The whole 1972 thing stopped around last August even though they continued working in the studio. I hope journalists are clued in enough when they interview them to ask what the story was and why this project seemed to evolve and take so long.

  11. Guys, we just gotta remember that Billie was quoted in Kerrang last year that the album will "probably come out in 2023", and now we're only in April 2023!!!

  12. Oh that sucks. Poor Oakland. These greedy team owners

  13. I thought the same thing when I first heard this song!! On a different note, it is long past due for the powers that be to get Favorite Son on all streaming platforms, and not just the Broadway cast version of the song.

  14. This is a little off topic but I just heard the Oakland A's announced they're building a new ballpark in Las Vegas, so don't be surprised if you see Billie return to Instagram, because he would definitely be one to speak out against this move!!!

  17. When's the green day album coming out then

  18. Ahhhhhh now I’m back to I can’t wait instead of frustrated they’re taking so long. The idea of putting the year 1972 on a project made me think it might have been a retrospective record and maybe a little boring since the band has been recording and releasing records for so long they seem like basically detailed a detailed diary of times past in song form. Now I’m excited they may be out of the 1972 lane and the songwriting would be more about old and new and a wide array of interesting themes and stories. The Trilogy is still my fav record because of the risks and diversity of the songs compared to the entire Green Day album discography.

  19. If they wait every other rock band to stop releasing shit to have the perfect window relese, this album will never come. Sucha shame for them... as I alwayssay, their mkt strategy is terrible, but this time they streched their boundries

  20. Honestly, if I was them, with all the album announcements recently, I would delay my release too. Metallica, Ff, Blink, Rancid all within the rock genre, sure there are more too.

  21. Yeah they want the city to pay for their business. It’s a horrible system.

  22. Billie is ashamed of the name of the band, so doubt it.

  26. I don’t think them delaying anything, if they did, has anything to do with other artists releasing anything. just off the top of my head I know they released Bang Bang the same week as a new Bon Jovi and Metallica singles and Uno was released the same day as Mumford and Sons album.

  31. I’m not a fan of Foo Fighters but they have a much more adept social media team than Green Day has. One week out from initial teasing they released a single and album announcement. Meanwhile, Green Day started teasing this project 16 months ago so now expectations are much higher than they probably should be. And we still have no clue when it’s coming. Sigh.

  34. Green Day are waiting all the other bands to retire to have all the attention when they release the new single and announce the new album. They need the perfect window for the release without any other distractions

  37. Hadn't heard Still Breathing in a while and I don't care what anyone else says, it's one of Green Day's best, most genuine and emotional songs, and it was great live. I remember thinking that Still Breathing and Forever Now at Hyde Park were some of the best performances of Billie's I'd seen. RevRad was a great record. Tempted to finally get a Still Breathing tattoo if I've got any money left over at the end of my next holiday 👀
