AFAIR they did London, Leeds and Manchester in Winter 2017 and eventually London & Sheffield in summer 2017.2 points

^ I thought the same thing about So Good Right Now by FOB. I listened to Rev Rad the other day. 2016/2017 were good years for me, and Rev Rad reminds me of this when I listen to it. 2023 has been a good year so far for me- maybe in years to come I'll be listening to 1972 and being reminded of 2023.2 points

Ooh, that would be a cool lyric. *Green Day, if you're reading this, do NOT go back and shoehorn that into 1972. Save it for your 15th album, maybe titled Arena. Or even a new side project. ๐2 points

The certificate is expired/locked for some regions it seems. But it says that it's valid until march 2024. This probably doesn't mean anything. As for the website code for greenday.com - this was the case right before RR was released, but before FOAM they made a new webside code that was unreleased, then they activated it at the minute FOAM was presented. I've already tried to read out the code as it is today (including the 3rd party sites linked), but there's nothing.2 points

So excited for the new album! Iโm hoping they do an arena tour of the UK. Their choice of Leeds, Manchester, and Sheffield in 2017 was so strange as those cities are close to each other. I canโt see them doing Newcastle (the closest arena to me) for the 1st time since 2005, so Iโm hoping they do Leeds.2 points

My thermostat is on 72. A little warm for my taste, but I feel like this is important to be a fan. Fan! I could leave it on 72 but get fans! Yes!1 point

You can't fool me, Moderator For A Day. Haha 1972, just to stay on topic....uh it's coming sooner than some wrong people think and later than other people think, who are also wrong. I hope that image is the actual cover art for the album. Song titles and lengths on the front, that is an old school move that Green Day haven't flexed yet, and it's oh so cool. I think Ready for the War will lead us into battle as the single. The two run times had me confused, but now I see the *. I think a LOT of people are going to be frustrated. The bonus track is exactly what the entire world wanted Green Day to do. It could have been the biggest lead single by a longshot. But they chose the more artistic route featured in the main tracklist, and I respect them for it. It's definitley going to take some time to fully understand what I'm hearing here, but there are some immediate wins if you make it past the early stuff. Open Heart and Let's Go balance the artistic whatever with Dookie and it's magical. A few GDC users might think it's better than Dookie. I think Decaying Youth is my favorite, but I love the whole dystopian thing. and July 28th, 2023 is a good date. If that ends up being correct, I owe them a free copy of the album! The album could be called FOOL! I really think the quote from American Idiot will open up the album, and much like the album cover of FOAM, we'll be deconstructing the story of Idiot, while building a new one. Idiot was a fictionalized depiction of Billie's coming of age. But 1972 will knock down the walls and tell us the real story. and that was that. or so it seemed. is this the end or the beginning? all I know is, she was right. I am an idiot. It's even on my birth certificate in so many words. This is my rage. This is my love. This is my town. This is my city. This is my life. When Mike (that's right) says "she was right", Billie screams in the background "WRONG WAY! I never liked you either you genocidal witch!" and we get the true story of American Idiot, where Amanda is the villian and she kind of pumped him full of drugs and idelogy just to destroy him. But the twists keep coming in this album that was delayed because they made a musical and movie at the same time as recording. 2 hours of music. Gilman Street fans can feel comfortable returning to the fold. Dookie fans will be impressed. Idiot fans rejoice. This is G.D.7.2. Adam Bom.1 point

I remember we found HM tourdates in the website code before it was announced.1 point

Yes, someone also noted changes to the website code a few weeks before there was an announcement.1 point

Didn't we have the same issue with the certificate of their website a few days or weeks before FOAM was announced? I'm having a deja vu here ๐1 point

We have absolutely no evidence to be making any type of educated guesses on when a single, an announcement, an album release, etc will happen. There are too many variables at play here. FOAM was done for a while before it got announced and promoted. Same with the latest Network album (I believe this was done even before FOAM was announced). I don't think it's fair to say "mixing is wrapping up so that must mean something happens three weeks from now." Could it? Sure. Will it? We have no idea.1 point

I may be wrong but I think we will get an announcement in April and the first single in May.1 point

I'm not quite sure I agree with that. Green Day is at the fortunate point in their career where they don't need the promise of playing new music to draw a crowd and any smart group of folks organizing and running a music festival should know this.1 point

I'm really surprised. Not allowed to speculate, that smacks at free speech. A few pages back on here it was suggested that posts to this topic be edited and deleted if not relevant or reckless. As long as we comply with rules of forum and are respectful to all members and are truthful as @Little Boy Named Booze has totally been, what's the problem, even the occasional, "it's out this Friday". This is the most popular topic going, which says a lot. I can't keep away. Goes to show what I've always believed, out of all the GD forums, if you want to be in the know about GD both serious and to have a laugh, imho GDC is the best.1 point

Honestly even if the songs don't end up being great, it's just exciting to know that something new is just around the corner1 point

There are many, but I think the pinnacle of my embarrassing Green Day moments is when I got onstage, went the wrong way, fell over and looked like a zombie crawling out of a grave when I got up. But it was also my best Green Day moment so it's a happily embarrassing one I thought a dookie was a hoodie for some reason... and I did have internet access then. I also thought Minnesota was some kind of twirling technique (we weren't taught anything about the modern US in British schools then) and "Minnesota Girl" meant Adrienne was really into twirling. I can at least blame that on lack of internet access. We won't talk about what a lot of fans thought "holds my malachite so tight" meant.1 point

Hadn't heard Still Breathing in a while and I don't care what anyone else says, it's one of Green Day's best, most genuine and emotional songs, and it was great live. I remember thinking that Still Breathing and Forever Now at Hyde Park were some of the best performances of Billie's I'd seen. RevRad was a great record. Tempted to finally get a Still Breathing tattoo if I've got any money left over at the end of my next holiday ๐1 point
