This needs to be in here š„° From Facebook via sweetpeabella84 On a blind date here seeing Zepperella. They are so good and my date is so polite. People keep asking to take pictures with him. Iām not sure why but hey, itās Hollywood. #jk #billiejoearmstrong #greenday #zepparella #plasticrhino #hollywood #losangeles #bourbonroom Mar 18, 2023 | Bourbon Room Hollywood5 points

If this song is on the new album, then Iām seriously not interested in the rest of it and would think the whole crew has become completely out of touch with reality.5 points

Thought these were also worth posting here. How does Billie look so young??!!4 points

I really like the trilogy and even think it has a lot of really solid lyrical ideas and themes in there but you absolutely can't say that the trilogy wasn't a severe drop in lyrical quality from AI/21CB. And RevRad's lyrics are nowhere near as deep or interesting as AI/21CB imo I agree with Miko that 21CB sort of broke Billie a bit. It was such a difficult album for him to make and with the middling success the album got, he probably didn't think it was really worth it to put the same amount of effort into the lyric writing. As much as people try to lump RevRad in with AI/21CB, it is just not the same in terms of the lyrical content, experimentation or creativity Idk if we really know anything about where HCTS came from. Maybe it was a leftover from FOAMF, maybe they recorded it afterwards. Idk, does anyone have a source on that?4 points

Iām just kind of shooting in the dark here but maybe theyāre in LA for rehearsals or something? I canāt really think of a reason that Kevin and Jason would be hanging around during the recording/mixing/mastering process, if the band was still working on the album. Also Billies Guitar tech Hans shared that post 2 weeks ago that looked like they were in a rehearsal space. That picture could have been taken before Tempe but I donāt see why heād post it a week after the show. Just a thought though. Also, if anyone remembers going back to 2016 they were doing rehearsals a few weeks before they even announced Bang Bang.4 points

Hopefully theyāre learning and rehearsing the new songs for the next tour but itās odd otherwise since there are no shows scheduled for months as of now3 points

I canāt post pictures here but there are a bunch of posts going around IG and Facebook from a show last night in Hollywood (a Led Zeppelin tribute band) and from different posts and photos it looks like Billie, Kevin, Jason W and Rob Cavallo were there. So if theyāre all hanging out I just wonder if theyāre in LA for work reasons3 points

Thatās what Iām thinking they are up to. We had no idea in July of 2016, when Billie shared a pic from rehearsals, that they had tour dates planned for September. I guess what Iām trying to get at is when things start moving they start moving pretty quickly. They could have other dates easily planned for this summer and I feel like they could wait to announce them until the end of April or early May if they wanted to. I think thatās around the time when Blink 182 announced the California tour in 2016 and it started in July.2 points

When you go down a street out in the middle of nowhere called Armstrong Rd. and think about Billie.2 points

Literally the only reason I kind of like that song is because Billie plays the piano on it, and that is a very rare thing to hear on any of their songs. Usually if a song has any piano/keyboard in it, that's Jason Freese. Granted, it's veeeery simple piano, but just the fact that it's Billie playing makes me fangirl a little bit because it's my favorite instrument.2 points

Well happy monday to you too, I guess! There's no need to be so serious about this thing and because this thread happens to exist and nobody knows the real reason it was taken out, it's fun to speculate about it and throw some obvious jokes about it. If you don't like it, then so be it. You don't have to participate in it. My OG posts point was to address that it's been a week since it was removed and it still hasn't been brought back. The joke was to say that clearly this means that it's gonna be on next album. Hopefully this was clear enough for you. Oh yeah, true. I totally forgot their NHL deal and yes, HCTS was part of that. Still, I highly doubt it will be forever gone. After all, it's a single from Green Day. Shitty single, but single nonetheless.1 point

Whatās the logic behind considering the possibility this will be part of the next record, letās not even mention considering it āconfirmedā? Thereās a difference between rumors, speculation, and pure non-sense random delirium out of boredom posted in a boring thread.1 point

Pretty sure Green Day has never said a word about HCTS and Holy Toledo so there are no sources. It's just speculation and rumors.1 point

Well, comparing Trilogy/RR/FOAMF songs lyrics to anything that is on AI or 21st Century Breakdown speaks for itself. As for songs themselves, they're still Green Day. They can fuck around in studio and quickly make something that is a banger without thinking too much about it. HCTS wasn't leftover from FOAMF. It was just quick shitty song to put out during COVID-era for whatever reason. They did the same with Pollyanna and Holy Toledo and to no ones surprises, they only played Pollyanna live.1 point
-
21st Century Breakdown was the last album they really worked on for years and years and polished everything and so on. It took a huge toll on him and he talked about more in-depth about it in various interviews and most notably on Audible's ''Welcome to my panic'' episode. Seeing what kind of albums they have made ever since 21st CB.. yeah.1 point
-
I doubt it, otherwise they would have remove it outside of EU, too. A few bands released singles years before the album release and didnāt remove it (Coming for you by The Offspring for example).1 point

Hella Maga tickets were sold much more in advance because they had larger venues I think. It takes more time to sell 40,000 tickets than 15,000. And I think it's likely that a Green Day tour for the new album will be played and smaller venues than Hella Mega.1 point
-
Worst case scenario: here comes the shock really is on the next album Wouldn't mind pollyanna to much tho1 point
-
No photos of them at least but thatās not really the point. They could have been in LA together for work and then a bunch of them went out that night. Jason doesnāt live in LA for example so just interesting they are all there.1 point
-
But can we really expect a documentary? They did it for AI for sure but released it later. These younger versions can be actors for shooting an extended music video where they represent the early days and their career which leads to the present days or something. Maybe they started shooting back where they took the photo with them but the album wasnāt finished so they hold it back for the right time to release. But I think the silence is a good sign because they have nothing to post in the studio. Just keep an eye on Billies Insta profile. Heāll come back for the album1 point

I'm with @pacejunkie punk this is spot on and it's a benchmark to work with. Even if March does not work out, a positive view of an April announcement would realise the popular view of an October release. Sorry I'm confused. Wouldn't they have to have finished recording before arranging the album's tour, considering what's involved form the above list? You wouldn't want to rearrange dates if there's an unscheduled delay to the album release maybe?1 point
