  1. Hmmm, if I were to guess I'd probably say sometime after it's actually announced. Let's be patient and take things one step at a time. They've probably got at least 3 or 4 albums worth of material in their vault that most of us haven't even heard yet and we may not even hear them for a long time if we even ever hear them at all. Some of these older vault songs may even get scrapped and dissected to make new songs, like how Black Eyeliner (presumably) eventually became Church on Sunday, or how Cigarettes and Valentines (if it was even an actual old pre-AI song) shared similar lyrical content to American Eulogy. Maybe 1972 only consists of fresh, newly written material which could contribute to the long wait? Maybe the project started out as something small and changed direction to be a bit more ambitious the longer the band worked on the album? Maybe it's just a smaller project and the boys just want to feel right about when to announce it? Maybe the band decided to recently scrap everything and start from scratch? Or maybe it was always meant to be something a bit bigger than another small project and was always meant to take a long time and the teasers were dropped simply to let fans know that something is being worked on without making any official announcements. The reality is only they know, and they'll likely do whatever they feel like doing in regards to 1972 and material that follows. We can probably expect an announcement sometime this year, maybe even a release if it still sticks to it's apparent planned 2023 release, but I wouldn't even start thinking about what comes after until at least a year or two after 1972 actually drops and we know exactly where the band is at.

  4. Fingers crossed "that dude" is in the lyrics. Even if he only says "that" in a song, I will know in my heart that it's for me. "That" will be enough.

  5. If Billie wears his 1972 vest at the Innings Festival, we’ll know the title is still in play in some form. If not the album title, maybe at least a song, or a documentary of the making of the album.

  7. Well, not The Last Time or Devil’s Kind and now we know not the melody to Kill Your Friends either.

  8. Is there any sort of evidence or explanation for what you're saying? I mean, wouldn't the songs they wrote between RevRad and FOAMF all have been considered for FOAMF? What makes you think that the new album (or following album) will have songs from that period if they weren't released for FOAMF? What is it that makes you think there are 2 albums worth of material coming out and what does that even mean since an album of material can range from under 30 minutes to over an hour?

  9. Fun fact: Tre once had a knee operation where a bone fragment was removed, and a haiku contest for fans was held with the fragment as a prize.

  11. The Last Time and Devil’s Kind were written before RevRad. And it’s common for him to recycle melodies and ideas from unused songs but that doesn’t take away from the fact that KYF was written after RevRad. We were speaking specifically about the songs that were written since RevRad. They were used mostly for Longshot. I never said everything from Longshot was written after RevRad.

  12. Oh, all my thoughts I share here are speculation. Just wishful thinking. I wish I had any evidence. I'm sorry if I confuse anyone. I may be totally wrong on what I think. These are just my feelings.

  17. Green Day should abandon all they have done before and make Danger Music / Anti-music. Go to 49 second in to hear the beautiful song. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danger_music

  19. This site is still working? Wild. Yeah, it's been a year, 2 months and 10 days since we began spending our free time speculating the 1972 project. I'm thinking October 6th, 2023.

  20. Fleetwood Mac and Green Day doing a song together, THAT would pretty sweet and fit in with the 1972 album. And I know it's not the hipster choice, but I'd do some bad things to hear Green Day cover "Go You Own Way".

  23. Couldn't forget because I didn't know....my fan card is in troubled times, 😆 But I hate when I am forced to pick between two things like this. Can't I just make more posts about Green Day ON Facebook? I like Facebook and Spotify. If that makes me a corporate shill or whatever, that's okay.

  24. Had a dream that I was watching a small GD show from the balcony. There was an intermission, so I thought I would try and get down on the floor for the rest of the show. Everyone was moving around, and I got up to the front row. Only problem was different stages kept popping up everywhere, so no one knew what stage to actually stand in front of. Dream went in a different direction before I found out. Oh, and Michael J. Fox was filming the show for his IG stories.

  25. Of course the journalists would say that. Just trying to stir up drama between the 2 bands fanbases And of course Mike would say that. He doesn't want people to think The Network are actually other people under the masks. Don't believe what Green Day say. They've always had problems with The Network!

  26. In a 2013 interview, bassist Mike Dirnt finally revealed that the group (The Network) was in fact Green Day, mentioning that Money Money 2020 was worked upon alongside other Green Day projects in the mid-00's. Additionally, several journalists noted the band's vocals were unmistakably that of Billie Joe Armstrong, and the fact he has The Network sticker on his guitar amplifier. The Network = Green Day. awesome.

  29. This is the first time I'm hearing L.I.M.P. talk on here. Collabo confirmed, 😄 I really liked Billie with The Lonely Island and Lady Cobra. It's time Green Day make a pure rap album, and use a 1970s sound. Tons of David Bowie samples. Just a ridiculous amount. It sounds crazy mixing Limp Bizkit and Bowie, but if any band can do it, Green Day can. Triple combo for a Behind Blue Eyes called Behind Green Eyes where the mystic knights of the cobra return to stay with Green Day. Probably at least a double album. Out June 13th... A weird looking chihuahua on the cover licking Tre Cool's face. Bubba Sparx is on 5 tracks. Korn on 2. Marilyn Manson on 2. Madonna on the Country song. The Gorillaz on 1. And BTS on the single. Well, I'm about to start my day now.
