I doubt that Billie doesn’t care anymore. For one, the thing with Morrissey happened before the start of the Pandemic, in which he wasn’t aware of his views. Afterwards, he was pretty damn vocal about the need for Police reform after George Floyd was murdered, also making a cover of John Lennon’s “Gimmie Some Truth” in the midst of it all. He was also very loud about wanting people to vote in the 2020 election, and about his distaste for what happened to Roe V Wade. Now, the band should still be held accountable for making a song to Bill Maher, but accountability is not the same as hatred. It’s demanding better from the artists we love. This feels akin to Tom Morello being friends with Ted Nugent rather than him not caring.4 points

The album has been recorded. This doesn't matter. What it does potentially impact is the band's show at the Innings Festival at the end of February.4 points

Top 3: When It,s time (much better than band versión) Tre Polka (like last Ride In, Green Day showiing they are great musicians) Black Eyeliner (very nice song that deserve be included un the album)3 points

I didn't know you have to be an activist to not support hateful comments against an already marginalized group of people. It's called being a decent human being.3 points

the comments are so positive and point out even MORE songs that Black Eye Liner has relations with:2 points

Don't knock it. Seeing them live on YouTube, even when repeating songs, it's always different and special. Not being there isn't the same, but I get the impression its more personal and interactive with the band, looks amazing. I know you'll all have the best time again.2 points
-
I’m hoping it doesn’t affect their 1972 plans, whenever the tour is supposed to start. And the Innings Festival in February2 points

So Mike was in SF over the weekend for the Fred Armisen show I wonder if this Coverups show was scheduled close so he could be in it. We’ll see if he’s there2 points

That was back in 2002, when he dislocated his knee. Not sure which leg though. He had an operation and was six months recuperating. But I thought that was well sorted now. Scanned most GD related sites and can't find any confirmation. Then it's something you just don't want to advertise. I mean there are things in your life you just want to keep private. Whatever the problem, you take care of yourself Tre. See you very soon, giving those drums some stick, and maybe trashing them again. x 😄2 points

well live performances generally are interesting to those who go to them, yeah. if anyone here has gotten a ticket, I hope you have fun!1 point
-
They should do covers of all the 1972 songs, followed by FOAM, and then do Black Eye Liner for the encore.1 point
-
They’ve actually added some new songs over the past year. Now they’re doing more 80’s stuff like The Cure and The Go-Go’s. I love that1 point
-
Nah The Coverups again... the same cover songs played again and again... This is interesting only to who will attend1 point

i enjoy Tre polka more than entirety of foam. Do I need to seek professional help? 🤕1 point

I drew the parallel because both are cases of progressive viewed rockers “playing nice” (for lack of a better term) with right wing nuts.1 point

Ted Nugent is way worse than Bill Maher 🤮1 point

I ranked the demos. Espionage comes in last because there isn't enough difference from the the demo to final song. and Tre Polka? It's the biggest disappointment. I wanted Tre Cool rapping about red velvet walls or squatters in his flat, gosh poop it! 1. Black Eye Liner 2. Alison 3. When It’s Time 4. Chain Saw 5. Place Inside My Head 6. You Irritate ME 7. Desensitized 8. The Grouch 9. Jinx 10. Walking Alone 11. Reject 12. Nice Guys Finish Last 13. Tre Polka 14. Espoinage1 point

It's almost like it's the other way around with the Trilogy. Some of the songs on Demolicious sound better than the final Trilogy versions1 point

The song "Amanda" has some lines that were originally in "Gabriella" https://www.letssingit.com/green-day-lyrics-gabriella-lhqfpfv1 point

On their upcoming tour for the new album, I hope they do a Black Eyeliner/Church on Sunday medley!!!1 point

Idk why people expect them to announce stuff on their birthdays, they've never done that. Remember back in 2016 when they were secretly working on RevRad and we expected them to announce something when the mayor of Oakland announced a dedicated "Green Day Day" and then nothing happened? We just need to be patient and we'll get it when they're ready1 point

Green Day are the band that on their first major tour refused to play shows if they couldn't have an openly gay band Pansy Division open for them. And that was back in 1994. And now they are doing a song for that transphobic piece of shit 🙄 And people here which are fans of the band do not acknowledge what's wrong with that. If you'd like this place to be a Green Day dick riding fest just openly say it or create a rule about it. At the end of the day I do not want to accept that Green Day changed their views on those manners but I believe as they get older they don't really care anymore. That's not an excuse but with the music they've given us lately, the boomer cringe promotion of "no swedish song writers" etc you can see they don't consider themselves or the message they once used to represent that important.1 point

Freedom of speech is not freedom from social consequences for that speech. Nobody is calling for the arrest of bill maher. Nobody wants to send him to the gulags. People want him to change his views and be a better person. Short of that, people can and will criticize his fre speech with their free speech. The government can't censor someone for their religious beliefs, they can't stop the press from criticizing them, they cannot arrest you for speaking out. Society, however, can and should criticize those that cause harm to others. Harmful beliefs won't get you arrested, they will get you criticized. It's not cancel culture, this is how a society works. I would just like it for people to understand that nobody here appears to want to throw bill maher in a cell to rot. Using your freedom of speech to spread misinformation is an action worthy of criticism. This is my belief and I will use my freedom of speech to say as much.1 point

In case anyone had doubts about Bill Maher being a piece of shit regarding trans people, I just saw a clip filled with lies about trans/gender stuff being talked about to young children in schools. Lies like how instead of teaching kids about colours, they talk about pronouns and queer stuff, and that they're telling them they can identify as a tree. Schools aren't these far left institutions that these people are making them out to be. Kids are not being told "boys can menstruate" and "girls have penises". This misinformation is everywhere, there are even lies about schools putting litterboxes in bathrooms for people who identify as catgender. Like it's insane how many people just hear this stuff and believe it without even thinking about it1 point

Might rank the demos as well. The important thing is to spread the hatred of Haushinka because she is so awful. At least she is far away. 😄0 points
