  1. Doesn’t it make you wonder what other songs we love are actually recycled from demos we’ll never hear? 🤔

  5. Some Nimrod era Billie (my favorite pre-AI Billie) for the release.

  6. He’s clearly always been a good looking guy, I think he just embraced it more and went for a little more normal/acceptable/conservative (pick your own word) look for AI.

  8. I wish they would do this more too! I think American Idiot 100% will get similar treatment, but I'd love that for Warning's 25th as well! Would be cool to see demos, and although I don't remember which interview or how long ago he said it, it would be cool if they went along with re-recording the album.

  9. Just got an email saying the foam fingers everyone loves are back and immediately thought it was Father of All M fingers and not the Nice Guys fingers. But then I realized everyone hates it but me. #betterthandookie

  10. Of the many positives to come out of this Nimrod 25th Anniversary Edition, the main impression I've got it that everyone on here is made up and happier. Prior to its release, there was an air of negativity, impatience, and frustration, due to the lack of info concerning album14. And unsure what this anniversary edition would have to offer. Whilst we enjoy this new record, pleasantly surprised, and with our spirits raised, we can look forward with hope and expectancy that we'll have news of the 1972 album very soon.

  11. That's correct about the ownership, Green Day took ownership of those records in 2005 after Lookout stopped paying their royalties. The label was in rough shape in the early 2000s and Lookout would basically use those royalties to fund other projects. I also doubt there's anything leftover from the kerplunk sessions, I've read that the album was recorded in two different sessions because they didn't have enough material for an album during the first session

  12. Green Day owned 39/Smooth and Kerplunk long before their 25th anniversary’s the main issue with those albums are the master tapes are said to be in rough state and also escp for 39 I doubt there’s any extra studio tracks left over for 39 due to the lack of money Kerplunk had a little bit more of a budget so that album may have a few extra songs left over maybe

  13. My bundle is still stucked in the US. Nothing new since January 26th. Fuck I hate the Green Day store seriously this is stupid.

  14. Perhaps Fink knows a woman named Lydia. I don't know what this has to do with Green Day and you guys know I love to stay on topic.

  15. I will copy and paste all the pages you missed right here in one massive blob....well, I would but I am also lazy bones. 😉 I guess the only thing of note was we heard they were possibly still recording.

  17. It's honestly pretty sloppy. Most songs have at least one noticeable issue, which is why they only used a few as b-sides back when it was recorded. Even staples like Basket Case had issues. It's not stuff that would ruin the live show, but I'm sure they didn't think it was good enough to release as a standalone live album. Also, pre-Bullet in a Bible GD was pretty adamantly against touching up live recordings. If something was messed up in the performance they wouldn't fix it later. You can hear a few little flubs on Foot in Mouth. That said, it's interesting they didn't record multiple shows to pull from for a live album. Most bands tend to do that just to have more recordings to choose from.

  18. Green Day needs to get rid of these live versions, we heard enough of the same ol songs lived a million times! It would be cool to have the original studio tracklist with suffocate and desensitized in the first cd

  19. Is it safe to assume that every studio album will get a 25th anniversary edition? That there will be one for Warning, American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown, trilogy etc. Also will Dookie get one for its 30th anniversary in 2024? Just seems like if they were gonna do this for every album, they could've planned it out better. Start with 39, or at least start with Dookie (their major label debut) and make it so the albums actually come out 25 years after the album. Releasing the 25th anniversary of Insomniac and Nimrod in 2020 and 2022 instead of 2021 and 2023

  20. on Reddit and on here, I think. people like the music well enough, but don’t like mikes vocals. I don’t think it would fit on nimrod, but I’d listen the fuck out of a Mike only album from this era😛

  21. So much this. For nearly 3 hours last night, I was in high school again. The live portion was such a trip- that tour was my proper introduction to live Green Day.

  22. Agree completely. FOA is a really nice, quick listen to melodic, stripped down rock songs. The musicianship is incredible (Fire, Ready, Aim particularly). Tre’s drum fills towards the end is some 5 star shit.. and nobody can touch his hi-hat skills. To be honest, he’s probably only second to Ringo Star on the Hi-Hit. Travis Barker isn’t in the same arena as Tre when it comes to taste.. Anyway.. I just wanted to agree on this one because most people will think this is a crazy comment, but it isn’t. If you don’t think the members of Green Day have gotten better as musicians since Dookie, you just have either a really low IQ, or you don’t know how to properly judge music.

  23. There's a little thing that you are missing. The nimrod and insomniac bundle are handled by Warner, and they aren't owned by the band. Maybe they had some input in chosing this or that, but the main driver is the label. Is not like the first two records where the band has all the control they want, but at the same time they were under and didn't have much resources at the time, so making a bundle like the nimrod one would be a nightmare to them to make.

  24. Probably a lot of them. The other instance of this was during the Trilogy with the "I'm not playing with your heart" line. I would love to know the process of how Jillie completed Church on Sunday. What could possibly await us on the Warning 25th edition?

  29. It's never safe to assume anything with this band 😂 As far as future boxed sets go, I doubt they'll do anything with 39 and Kerplunk, I guess the original master tapes from those albums aren't in good shape and there's not really gunna be any good quality unreleased stuff from those albums anyways. A Dookie box set would be awesome though, it would be nice to have the rerecording of 409 they did during the Dookie sessions, and I think they originally recorded haushinka for Dookie too and it's never been released. An AI set would be amazing, they demoed the whole album before they recorded it so it would be cool to hear that. I don't think there's really any unreleased songs from the Warning recording session, but there could be demos out there

  30. Yeah I think it was a tough situation and also very emotionally charged so it’s understandable why he’d be mad and write about it, especially considering that he obviously has a temper, but I just don’t think it was a good call to release it publicly.

  32. Has anyone here said they didn’t like it, from what I recall it’s gotten a lot of praise. I think Mike’s songs should get more recognition by the band this one is a bop

  33. Place inside my head may not be everyone else’s favorite (or apparently not even well liked), but the band decided to include it, and even put it second in the track list for a good reason, and that makes me feel like I’m in good fucking company!

  34. I really like the Desensitized demo. The lyrics of the final version are much better but the demo lyrics feel more angsty.

  35. You might only get this if you've played Pokemon Alpha Sapphire or Omega Ruby but I revisited an old game a while ago and was obviously very into "RevRad" when I played it (still love the album but had forgotten I'd done this!) I also found an old game of Leaf Green and didn't remember having called my rival Billie!!

  37. My guess is we won’t hear anything until after the Innings Festival Feb 25. There’s a Coverups show Feb 2 and we were wrong about them making any kind of fuss over their birthdays so nothing will happen next month. But their calendar is empty until July so there has to be some reason for the gap I think we’ll have an announcement and promo beginning in March, maybe an album April or May and a summer/fall tour

  41. Let's give them time to promote Nimrod 25 and finish up that Forever Now music video first. Oh, and properly promoting the Trilogy, Rev Rad, FOAM along with Nimrod. then we can talk Album 14.

  42. I just found this hilarious image that some loser made because he hates women http://www.amiright.com/photoshops/g/green-day-21st-century-breakdown-amazon-exclusive-explicit-1425639938.shtml It's hilarious because if they knew anything about this band, they'd know that the band hate this kind of person

  43. I knew this was coming I'm not expecting any album, single or announcement for a few more months. I don't think it'll be 2024 but I'm expecting the album release to be in the 2nd half of 2023

  46. That's weird, I clicked on something, and the next page came up with Cigarettes & Valentines the album, listing 24 tracks; Cigarettes & Valentines, Too Much Too Soon, Favorite Son, Governator, Clusterbomb, Private Hell, Shoplifter, What About Today, Lights Out, Tales Of Another Broken Home, She's A Rebel, Rock and Roll Girlfriend, All Systems Down, Hearts Collide, Right Hand A Rama, I Fought The Law, Things I've Heard Today, Minnesota Girl, When It's Time, Foiled Can, Boys In The Bathroom Stall, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Why Does It Always Rain On Me. Some I of course have heard before are legit', others don't sound like Billie Joe and some the quality is very poor.

  47. Working in retail will make you hate any Christmas song of any genre. There are only so many times you can tolerate the same five songs on repeat while customers threaten to report you to the CEO because the last lemon cheesecake is damaged. I can't even listen to the original You Get What You Give anymore because of the Sainsbury's version (in case you want to suffer, this is what I'm on about). At least they've retired that so I'll (probably?) forget about it eventually... but there is no forgetting Wham. Or Slade. Or Mariah Carey. Then again, they're all bearable compared to that Sainsbury's cover and that's in my head now. HELP.

  48. Got a new phone or Xmas (got it early bc I LOST MY PHONE AT THE AIRPORT HAHAHA) and with it I'm finally able to view my full Spotify wrapped. WMUWSE won my most played song and said I played it 40 times on February 28th which I just don't remember??? I must've been going through it that day holy fuck
