I really hope we get more interviews with this next album cycle. It feels like we haven't really gotten any significant interviews since the RevRad days. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but the FOAM cycle was severely lacking in that regard (COVID right after the album release didn't help either).8 points

That would be a great excuse for them to use. “If people thought FOAM sounded off it’s because it wasn’t us, it was The Network!”6 points

Or the legendary facebook livestream after the premiere of „Bang Bang“ 🥰4 points

There were so many WTF-moments during the FOAM promotion. It's like they tried to fully replace their previous fan base with totally different listeners from one day to another 😅4 points

Screw what I SAY are my favorites, these are my most listened to Green Day songs as of right now: Too Dumb To Die American Idiot Pollyanna Nice Guys Finish Last Sugar Youth Scattered Jesus of Suburbia You Irritate Me Hithcin a Ride Father of All Holiday / Boulevard of Broken Dreams and then Theory of Reality and Trans Am, even though that isn't even Green Day.3 points

Wait....did the Network impersonate Green Day for FOAM? Was it all a hoax and...oh no. If that is the case, then we haven't had a new record since 2016!3 points

That theory doesn't really hold up. They had to have immediately known (in early 2020) that the reaction to FOAM wasn't good, so why would they think resurfacing leftover songs from that album, recorded nearly 3 years (FOAM was done for a while) before the end of 2021 (when the 1972 stuff started), would be something they should do? In addition, the teased 1972 stuff has been all-new material. That theory doesn't make any sense.2 points

Blimey, didn’t realise you were still on the hunt! Hopefully it’ll be shown again at some point but usually somebody somewhere captures these things for YouTube if nothing else!1 point

It wouldn't make sense to just put all the FOAM songs in MM2020 Part 2. For one thing, there are songs in there that just sound nothing like The Network and are much more Green Day sounding. Like does it really make sense for Sugar Youth or Graffitia to be on a Network album? And secondly, there's already too much crap in MM2020Pt2. Ik a lot of people love it but I just can't get into that album at all and putting more on that album, a lot of which would be filler wouldn't do the album any favours. Even if you do really like that Network album, you've got to admit there is already a fair bit of filler in there, right? FOAMF just needed more time in the oven. More time for the solid tracks to bake properly and more time for the band to realize IWATT and Oh Yeah are shit and shouldn't be on the album unless they are changed drastically1 point

I don't love the album, but I'm glad we haven't been waiting this long for an LP after RevRad. Plus, I mean, there's always the chance FOAM would have happened anyway. No matter how long we waited. And then where would we be? 😄1 point

Hindsight, that maybe something that has happened, should not have happened. And of course there's nothing we can do about it. In discussing what has gone before, including what may influence the next GD album, there has been many comments on FOAM. To many it has been disappointing, even to the point of being an un-Green Day album, possibly damaging their reputation? And also the concern in some quarters what influence FOAM will have on the next album? Perhaps, in hindsight, should FOAM never have been released at all in Feb' 2020? It's been said before, that there was some leftover songs from FOAM that ended up on 'Money Money 2020 Part2, We Told Ya So!' So, maybe should those ten tracks from FOAM have be added to Money Money Part 2 in Dec' 2020 to total 35 tracks, making it a double album? Or is that an insult to Money Money PArt 2? That would have obviously meant we would be waiting for studio album number 13, as follow up to Rev Rad from Oct' 2016. Over 6 years ago? Would that be palatable, being a long wait, but preferable? Or releasing FOAM meant we at least had something to talk about? Just a thought.1 point

He doesn’t play with The Coverups regularly anymore. And yes, Mike wasn’t there.1 point

maybe it will have as many songs as nimrod or 21cb i wouldnt mind something "longer" than foam 😅 and i hope they play the new songs live ... after 2009 (~14 years!) revrad is the only new lp by gd they somehow try to play live 🥺1 point

Love this show. As well as singing Alison, liked Billie Joe singing Costello's No Action and another version of Basket Case.1 point

https://forum.greenday.fm/t/album-14-news-rumours-speculation/28/3 So according to Jason here, they apparently had Butch Walker originally slated to produce this, but something happened along the way and they replaced him with Rob Cavallo1 point

There might be the possibility of a double album..with Covallo and Walker producing each part.0 points
