I think the album will be released at some point after I post this message7 points

It makes me wonder ,why a band would tease new music but would not give further announcement for more than over a year ?? Why can't they just stfu and release music like metallica did with their latest single ? Why hype us over nothing??5 points

Here’s the custom ‘FOAMF’ Revenge JR we built for the mighty @billiejoearmstrong of @greenday along with a personal video of Billie opening the case and seeing the guitar for first time… Stoked! https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm8TdAhuxpQ/4 points

Did some edit on the video. Thanks @Karl Karlson for sharing the streams4 points

And ironically many of their biggest hits like Good Riddance, BOBD, WMUWSE and 21 Guns are their softest songs4 points

March 2022 was definitely one of the highlights of the year, it had its ups and downs, but the up was getting to talk to @greenday in London while they were recording their new album. Also getting to have the coolest conversations with Rob Cavallo across a few days, he is such a fan of the band and had so much time for me and @fabionei (for those of you not in the know, he signed Green Day to Warner back in the 90s and produced many of their albums). And as a fan of Pinhead Gunpowder it was awesome to properly chat to Bill Schneider. It was so cool seeing Tré air drumming to Fabio’s project 💚 The new album is gonna be fucking amazing, I’m so glad Rob is back and I can’t wait for it to come out #not1972 I shared this with my closest friends at the time, but now enough time has passed and I wanted to share it before the year ended as it was so special https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm2dRgmNT0D/3 points

And I think I remember hearing the first RAK sessions were done without Mike, who recorded his parts remotely. Maybe after that, they wanted to do a proper session with the band all together and maybe that’s what inspired them to just keep going to record a whole album!!! This should explain the move to Ocean Way!!! EDIT: I think they went back to RAK first if I’m not mistaken2 points

I’ve wondered the same. But I think Billie was just excited and got ahead of it wanting to share a little of what they thought was gonna be an EP. Then more people got involved, more songs, Cavallo and they held them back from sharing too much (which might be a good sign). I think the wait for an announcement is sooner than later.2 points

We got the Nimrod rerelease coming up on the 27th this month. For some reason, I think we’ll get the new album announcement on Billie’s birthday next month2 points

What do you mean by "heavy". Green Day has never really had an album that's very heavy musically, at least not since the 90's. When I think of heavy Green Day songs, I think of Take Back, Platypus, Horseshoes & Handgrenades, Bang Bang and a few others. And these songs are few and make up a small percentage of their albums. RevRad is as heavy sounding as basically all of their albums released in the 21st century. Albums like FOAMF and the trilogy are rock albums, just as much as the albums from the 90's or 00's. Even their more punk sounding albums of the 90's aren't that heavy.2 points

I miss the American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown days when we'd get the band talking to Rolling Stone and all these different media outlets talking about the sound of the songs and production stuff before the album was released. That stuff was 1972 times more cool than these tik-tok-teasers we get now. Billie Joe talking about his lyrical inspirations. Mike Dirnt talking about cylinders and fire, ready aiming or whatever he says. How did they start discussion about the albums before American Idiot? I don't remember anything before that. Now I wonder how Whatshername has been.1 point

Still Breathing was a pretty strong single too!!! I hope 1972 (or “Not 1972” 😆) has some nostalgic songs like Outlaws1 point
-
I hope it's actually heavy and doesn't cocktease us like what revrad did with bang bang1 point
