Post your predictions for the gd world in 2023. Here are mine: - the album comes out later in the year and is seen as mostly decent - the festival biggest hits run continues with even bigger festivals - Mike’s wife somehow manages to go even more fash - the new album contains at least a couple vague call to action songs but they’re well received because we get nostalgic for revrad - Billie keeps talking about leaving the USA but visibly does nothing to do so6 points

For 2023 I'm predicting that BJA will open his instagram, close it. Open it. Close it. Open it. Close it.3 points

I like the idea of the Gilman 1992, but for the back, maybe have one from this past year, like London 2022. 30 year time difference, and a couple hundred people in the background compared to 75000 people in the background now.3 points

Here in UK it's the usual Christmas jingles playing in the supermarkets and shops, with Cliff Richard, Slade, Wizzard etc. I've nothing against them. It's just the same old same old every year on a continuous loop, does my fuckin head in. Still on with the headphones whilst shopping listening to Xmas Time of the Year, quality music.3 points

How is it last minute if it’s for next year? Someone else reported a while back that they were already booking venues for next year so maybe they had a scheduling conflict with their own tour. If anything it makes it more likely they’ll be doing their own tour then to support a new release and not just a run of festival shows3 points

Definitely listen to it! I heard it long before I ever knew it was a cover. When I first heard the Wham version, I was like what the... Who the hell would do this to the Jimmy Eat World song!2 points

Thats a great idea, maybe a booklet of photos with the album, spanning 30 years+? This is my fav green day photo from the 90's, black and white. Maybe this on the front cover.2 points

The front cover of the 1972 album should be a live shot of the band playing at Gilman Street say 1992, and the back cover a live stage shot of AI tour 2005?2 points

I would like a band shot on the front cover. I think Warning is the only studio album with the band on the front cover?2 points

Anybody think we'll get a subtle hint next week about what's to come in 2023, just like Billie did for RevRad?1 point

The new album will be called Green Day BINGO and the listener will have to sift through hard to understand lyrics to find words that will allow them to get bingo. Oh and each album will have a different bingo card as the cover. It's all very stupid and expensive. The winner will not get their prize until 2037 and will be very disappointed as it's a broken Pukey statue rolled up in a really old BJA special, a 2 dolla blunt. They hinted at a money prize but never followed through. But the music.....that dude loved it. Said it was their best since FOAM.1 point

Green Day will release a sequel to a much beloved tune, and it will be called October Sucks Too. Mike and Tre will take a step back, with the new album being created by Jillie Bow all alone. It's a bleak, yet fun diatribe about being old in America and of course, how you can't get over your ex from 40 years ago or whatever.1 point

I’m not one for conspiracy theories but I think @Beerjeezus has been got at by @That Dude. This thread is their diabolical plot 😂1 point

Pretty sure this would win 😂. I got a good laugh at this so thanks before it gets shut down1 point

Unless you count the trilogy, yeah. And the warning cover is often cited as their worst cover because of how boring and bland it is (Before FOAM anyways)1 point

I hope they change the title to NIMROD and there's not explanation and it doesn't sound anything like Nimrod. It's just another album called nimrod. and there's no guitar, only zuul. I mean piano.1 point

In guessing something melodramatic like the revrad cover. I can see it bring a little collage of important or random events of the year 19721 point

There can be a scheduling conflict if they’re playing another big event in a similar time frame/area. If you need concrete terms, Glasto? It would make sense to skip one big UK festival if you’re playing another1 point

It could be anything from a logistical issue to just not wanting to go forward with performing at the festival. Nothings really set in stone until it’s announced in the music business and stuff like this happens all the time. I wouldn’t read too much into it.1 point

I doubt the album is gonna appear on wikipedia until after the band officially announces it (unless someone here adds it)1 point

June 16th, 2023, but not at midnight. It's going to be release at 19 hundred hours, 72 minutes military time. Yeah, I know 72 minutes is an hour and 12 minutes. I don't care if you don't. i don't care if you don't. I don't care if you don't. I don't care if you don't care. I don't care.1 point

Look into my eyes... I recently reposted this on my Tumblr and it's been popular so I thought it might be appreciated here too (it's from NME around the time FOAM was released)1 point

Not getting that vibe at all. They likely finished the album already and been touring their old asses off this past year. They're just taking a well earned rest from being green day likely1 point
