Gotta sneaky feeling BJA and co but especially BJA wants one more great mainstream album before they are done. I genuinely think that's what they were trying with FOAMF. Maybe that's why they are making this album sound like American Idiot.... π€4 points

If they are going to release old material, it would be so much more exciting if they would just release video footage of old concerts! Imagine a few never before seen full pro shot concerts on their YouTube channel. ππ One from each era π3 points

I'm just happy my prediction was right. My next prediction is @GDFan2019's next prediction will be wrong.3 points

Yeah they've really made it hard to get excited about Nimrod anniversary edition or 1972. I'm sure I'll enjoy the new Nimrod album and I'll most likely get some enjoyment from the new album too but they've been teasing 1972 for ages and we still don't really know anything about the album except that it'll be released in 2023 (and we've known that for ages) and for Nimrod, all we got on the actual anniversary was a demo track and an announcement of the anniversary edition. I mean, it would've made much more sense to release the demo a month or two before the anniversary and then release the actual album anniversary edition on the anniversary. But it's hard to get at all excited about a NGFL live version when we already got one last year. You Irritate Me isn't anything outstanding either but at least it's a new unheard track that sounds like a Green Day sound that we haven't heard since the 90's2 points

Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is a Green Day single from 1972 album PLEASE. Thank you2 points

Foam looked like American Idiot, so now this one will sound like it. But this one will have an alternate FOAM cover with 1972 written in ketchup, haha. It could be possible that they are trying to make this one commercial before shifting into a more indie way of doing things. I'd be fine with them taking a few years to do exclusively Foxboro Hot Tubs work. Or step aside and let The Network do their thing for a bit. I'd love to hear a third Network record that breaks free from the Money Money 2020 timeline and into some even weirder territory. I've always thought that perhaps the three could merge on one record, and an indie approach would be a great way to do that.2 points

Plausible! I'm very interested for promo to start so we can get some interviews explaining how everything came together. We haven't had a proper music-related interview since 2019.1 point

What if early 1972 just sounded like an extension of FOAMF, so they got Rob involved to help make it sound more traditional green day. Then finished it on while the hella mega was in hiatus for a few months, but didn't have enough time to promote it before the tour started back so are waiting til early 2023 to start promoting it with a clean slate. I've been up for 26 hours1 point

1972 is just a new flavor of oakland coffee and they're producing some commerical jingles for it. There will never be a new gd album1 point

I find this legacy band stuff really annoying. Two live versions of NGFL in one year. Make something new already.1 point

If it was the NGFL demo it would be much better and would increase the hype... but we agot another classic GD marketing action1 point

Same, I thought it was a music collaboration but itβs more merch. Beginning to drown in the stuff!1 point

It is. I love that they're finally making merch that looks kind of more mature.1 point

That's what happen when you take too long to announce something. 72 is now taken by TWO bands. Teasers over announcement SUCK. They love each other so much that James Hetfield don't even knows the lyrics from American Idiot1 point

I was on the internet doing my thing. Decided to search for Green Day sessions to see if any were available. Turns out somebody has, I wanna find out who it is and maybe ask for any of the raw tracks. Collecting pieces of music has always been my thing, this would be another cool piece in my collection. What I found, Still Breathing snippet, Billie's raw take. Bang Bang snippet. (I don't have the sessions yet, still looking for who has it.)1 point
