This is going very off the rails. Can we stop the extremely off topic discussion (or whatever this is)? Live look at @Sheenius:5 points

On my copy of the CD single they wrongly spell it as Cristy Road. And instead of live at Jannus landing, it's spelt Jannuf. Hay what if it's just my copy, it could be worth millions 🤪2 points

I heard that new versions of Awesome As Fuck will not be including C&V cause they lost the track2 points

Thanks for that. Here's another one, short, but very complimentary. https://www.geekstinkbreath.net/greenday/article/kings-for-more-than-a-day/2 points

Yes. The show appeared on several boots (you can find 'em in the DL section) missing the last song. The dat containing the whole show was sold like 4 years ago in ebay and probably Reprise know that.2 points

When you exclaim/gasp/groan/grump at work about something and your co-workers turn around and ask "is this a work problem or a Green Day problem?"2 points

I think it's easy to tell which songs on Shenanigans are from Insomniac sessions because Jerry Finn is credited.1 point

How about a new studio version of the C&V song itself? I know we already heard it live on Awesome as Fuck, but it would be nice1 point

OH YEAH 1972 will not chart on billboard but we will get a number 1 single and all proceeds from the single will go to the Joey Armstrong foundation of lawyer fees. The Foxboro Hot Tubs will also make a comeback with Go, Get Up and Balance. I predict one song from C&V will be on there again. The Longshot come back is... well a longshot.1 point

According to the last email of info, the last race ends at 6:30 and the concert starts 1.5 hours after the track closes, so around 8pm1 point

Heard today that this even will be broadcast this weekend on Sirius XM so may want to do a little searching and see if the Green Day show will be part of that broadcast Edit: looks like it’s just race coverage Saturday and Sunday. Oh well1 point

While I agree they are unique I still think there has been bands with more diversity in their musical progression. Rush The Clash Rancid (at times with Life Won't Wait and Indestructible) Queen? The Who? Black Flag? There's others that may come to mind later. I think for their specific scene it's true though. Most of their peers didn't even get out of Gilman. There's even claims GD ripped their sound off of Mr.T Experience but Mr.T Experience couldn't survive at Green Day's level and evolve the way they have. It's subjective too. The Clash definitely ventured into way more genres. Rush ventured more into technical musical pieces and progressions. I'm back. A wolf in wolves clothing. and Pinhead Gunpowder, The Frustrators, Jason White's bands etc The Network albums and FBHT album are better than some of the newer GD albums. Think about how many albums they put out from 91 to 09 - they're all cohesive and amazing in their own way. Not to mention there's hundreds of songs never even used on any records. Minnesota Girl, Things I Heard Today and a whole C&V album.1 point

Thanks! I knew I needed more eyes on this to get it right. Do Da Da is a weird one. Looks like it was recorded between Insomniac and Nimrod, and was included on the Brainstew/Jaded single. Very strange.1 point

Do Da Da was insomniac, remember it was originally Stuck With Me and Stuck With Me was Alright1 point
-
Yeah I thought this was another release where I would get both formats but when I saw how expensive the vinyl was I decided only CD was just fine 😂 the yellow version I got of Nimrod on vinyl will suffice.1 point

I think I've mentioned this before, back in '91 a was getting bored with music it just wasn't hitting the spot. Then I heard Dry Ice on the radio. That was it, that's what I've been waiting for. Then I got my hands on Kerplunk, I was in love with a band and hooked for life.1 point

It's so weird to think about the fact that if they didn't make American Idiot and blow up for the 2nd time, I probably wouldn't have discovered them. AI and 21CB were the albums that got me on board with Green Day. I might not even be into the kind of music that I'm into if I didn't hear those albums at the time and I might never have discovered them ever If the legacy band label was pinned on them in the early 2000's and they never got that 2nd big break in 2004, that wouldn't have been a great legacy. Not to say that their 90's albums are bad or anything, I don't think that at all, but Dookie was their only real hit album at the time and that's what they would be remembered for by most people and as much as I love that album, that would be such a waste. After AI and 21CB, albums like Insomniac & Warning that were initially considered disappointing started getting more love and appreciation and I don't think that would've happened if AI was never made. With a career with as many high points as they have, Green Day are never going to be forgotten. And it makes sense to use their legacy status to get more people into the band to listen to their old music and their new albums when they release, which is why I think these anniversary editions of their old albums being released before their new album is a good idea. Generate some hype around Green Day a few months before releasing new music1 point

I think the only reason why they only played their hits on the Hella Mega Tour was because they had to cut down their setlist to make room for Weezer and Fall Out Boy. It’s the first time they’ve ever done a tour like that. Once they go on tour for 1972, I guarantee they’ll play the singles from the new album, they may even play some FOAM songs, maybe even RevRad and Trilogy songs.1 point
