  6. i'm not about to give a lecture or be your 'friendly neighborhood LGBTQIA+ representative' and break it down about how you are ENTIRELY incorrect in your rationale, 'cause i'm here to discuss GD, not to educate. all i will say to address it is, a slur is a slur. full stop. so, as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, i will ask you to go ahead and (please) knock it TF off. admin has already addressed you regarding it and you defended your use. not a good look. ...back on track... how about that GD, huh? with the nimrod XXV announcement for january, im hopeful the new LP or at least a single will arrive in the springtime. i'd also be stoked on a RSD release since it's been a minute since we got one from them (even though my opinion of RSD in general isn't very high..). it'd also be cool if Billie or the band were announced as the ambassadors of RSD... could lead to something cool.

  8. It is once again a super exciting time to be a Green Day fan (not that it's ever a bad time really). But the one-two punch of a new album and anniversary festivities for Nimrod are a momentous occasion. I'm going to be honest, the Dookie anniversary was pretty underwhelming. There was some merch and a short-lived series of full album shows. Nothing special for the album, but it's not like it was ever out of print. Then Insomniac raised the stakes with more merch, and a kickass album reissue with bonus content. And now Nimrod is getting even more love? Keep it up, I'm all here for it. The gold standard for any re-release is studio outtake tracks. Even having a few tacked on as bonus tracks is enough to get me to double dip on an album. But having an entire disc dedicated to unheard demos is unreal. New tracks from Green Day in their golden age makes this an instant purchase. And of course live tracks always reel fans back in, and they picked a great choice with the Electric Factory tracks previously being sprinkled into the B-sides of the Nimrod radio singles. I can go on gushing, but I really do feel strongly about how well this reissue is being handled. Plus, whoever's running their social media is already doing a tremendous job taking us back to 1997.

  9. Imagine after saying they were going to call FOAM American Idiot Part II as a joke and then seeing how FOAM turned out... They decided fuck it let's actually make American Idiot II. 2 American 2 Idiot American Idiot: The Squeakquel

  10. Green Day could be waiting for the perfect moment to steal the momentum from Blink, 😄. Blink drops an album, everybody loves it and the tour is rocking.... Then Green Day drop a masterpiece and decimate the pop punk scene with American Idiot / Dookie levels of success. I wonder if Green Day's management were investigating the Blink rumors or were informed before the rest of us? I bet labels do spy on their competition to determine what the next move is, and Green Day and Blink have all sorts of overlap.

  11. Hm, so Billie has pulled out of Broken Guitars, Mike has pulled out of Rudy’s Can’t Fail. I suppose it must just be coincidence but it seems a little odd.

  14. I can wait for 1972, Billie already said probably next year, let’s not rush them, we can enjoy the Nimrod goodies in the meantime.

  17. Found out that Tom is back in blink with a world tour, album, and single announcement in a week. Ambiguous hints at 1972 for a year. I prefer the blink strategy.

  27. As much as I'd like to see them do right by Dookie, I've been enjoying re-living the album cycle exactly 25 years on. I feel like by just focusing on the current 25th anniversary, they're able to dedicate more care to each album. A deluxe reissue so close to [what I hope will be] Warning might stretch them thin and saturate the market.

  31. Its definitely going to happen at some point. There were actually so many great songs written at the time too. Would love to hear a better version of Things I Heard Today. its a great time for them to open the vault, the significance of their new music is low. If songs from c&v and this nimrod demo thing end up having impact its a great way to refresh their setlist live. It definitely works too, we’ve seen them bring some unreleased songs into the setlist and have huge impact. When its time is an example. I remember that was a big thing when they added it

  34. I guess we'll wait a loooong time for 1972. Wouldn't surprise me if the new album comes out on summer/fall 2023 as the earliest

  35. I wonder if any of our local radio stations will play this. Okay, so You Irritate Me is out now, and the new Nimrod anniversary set comes out on January 27th. Call me crazy, but 27 is 72 backwards, so, along with Nimrod, I think we may get the announcement for 1972 on that day as well!!!!!!!!

  39. They have lol but I think there's never been that many pap photos of them. Probably because none of them have ever really been a big part of the celebrity scene or dating other celebrities etc. Probably used to be slightly more but it was never a lot.

  45. Man, listening to the new RHCP albums this year really makes me wish the entire band cared as much as the chili peppers do when it comes to new music. You can tell each member of the band is really trying to bring something to the table and I haven't felt that way for a green day album since American idiot or maybe 21st. Not to say they don't care entirely but there are parts that feel very I don't know phoned in. Every album. Be it either Mike's bass line, to Billies songwriting, to the production it feels like they aren't ever as Mike would put it "firing on ALL cylinders." There's always one or two cylinders that arnt going off at any giving point lol. I'd say, and this is sheer speculation in my end, but Tre is the only one who actually gives a shit completely for every album Here's to hoping 1972 has the missing passion
