  1. A new 90s Green Day song holy shit

  2. Looks like some sort of announcement is coming Friday. Yesterday they posted this on Instagram Then someone on Reddit then posted this suggesting we might get the Demo of You Irritate Me tomorrow (also Friday) as a single. I’m certainly intrigued. The Insomniac 25th was great but I wanna hear more stuff from the vaults that we haven’t heard yet.

  3. No! Don't! You know he's gonna believe that!

  4. Considering 1972 is a metalcore album, let's just say he's been practicing.

  6. That would be really cool. You'd think they'd include the Nimrod-era tracks that made it on Shenanigans so it's a more complete/accurate representation of what a deluxe version would have been at that time.

  7. Ugh I hear my wallet crying now.....

  8. I just hope they utilize the space they have on the records and give us as many songs as they can (demos, live versions, etc). Not like they did with the Insomniac one that has etching on the last side of the record.

  9. The fact that we're probably getting a new unreleased demo on Friday and probably more either on the same day or later, I feel even more confident in the "no single or album announcement until 2023" even though I was pretty sure that we weren't gonna get anything until 2023 anyway. They wouldn't want to have the new album undermined by a anniversary edition remaster of one of the most popular Green Day albums and/or the release of unreleased 90's song(s) that Green Day fans are going to go crazy for

  10. Yeah I think this wednesday we're having You Irritate Me but with an announcement of a rerelease that will come later.

  11. I hope we get DUI officially now. But yeah, throw on Suffocate and Desensitized for sure, those songs are phenomenal so I don't care if they'd technically be on two albums

  12. Wondering if this is their holiday release for 2022. Last year we got the BBC Sessions and they seem put something out around the holidays lately.

  13. If we get the double album version of nimrod. (or even just the tracks and maybe a proposed tracklist), I can die happy. These are some of my most wanted 'lost tracks' of any band

  14. new music even if its old? i take everything!

  15. There are people in the comments saying that the OP has a good history of this kind of stuff too. Obviously, don't get too overexcited but that seems promising I wonder though, Is there any other info elsewhere on the internet that confirms this? I would be very happy to get some unheard demos of older stuff considering we've not got anything like this before for an older album

  17. I sure hope so or at least some extra Nimrod songs we don’t normally get

  18. It was originally conceived as a double album, with the songs listed in the one screenshot earlier in the thread (taken from MTV's The Ride iirc). The material seemed a bit overwhelming so they cut it back to 18 songs (with bonus tracks for international markets). Billie has said that Suffocate and Desensitized should've made it to nimrod. So maybe we get an extended tracklist with them and You Irritate Me and others. Edit for more context: they definitely had over 30 songs at least partially recorded for the album

  19. It’d be really strange to include one unreleased demo on it and nothing else. If we get this, you gotta figure there’s more to come on the full release. I bet we find out Friday exactly what’s on it. I’ve included it in Shenanigans for so long I’ve forgotten it’s still technically unreleased

  20. I hope it’s a deluxe rerelease with even more songs

  21. This is awesome, Nimrod is one of their greatest albuns, with on of the best soundings. Does anyone remember how are the songs we have a name and never heard?

  23. The irony is they thought they had trimmed it down considerably and had a tough time doing that. They only released a trilogy when they got stuck at the best 30 or so songs out of 60-70 that they started with. I don’t know if Billie has been that inspired or prolific since. Thank the AI musical experience for that.

  24. Nope, once you've posted it's officially a song title. Nvm wrong thread (Laughing) is a really great song. 1. X-Kid 2. NVM 3. American Idiot 4. Holiday 5. Take Back 6. Tack Back 7. Disasterpiece 8. The Saints are Coming 9. Working Class Hero 10. 1972

  25. They'd have to play Last Ride In before or after. Or Espionage.

  26. Would Billie's voice hold up well on stage if he sang Take Back?

  27. According to setlist.fm, twice https://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/green-day-13d68939.html?songid=4bd7eb7e Wouldn't it be awesome to hear Nimrod performed live in full. I mean I highly doubt that'll happen but it would be awesome. If we at least get to hear some deep cuts, I'd be alright with that There's also a video on yt of LRI performed live

  28. Could they have just been simply remastering Nimrod at Henson when @pacejunkie punk’s daughter was there with her school?

  29. Would there be any reason for the band to be working on stuff in studio for anything related to Nimrod anniversary edition? Cause if they were, that might explain why they seem to have been in the studio for a longer time for 1972. Like, are these demo(s) likely to be untouched from 1997 or would they have had to change anything to actually make it/them listenable

  30. I'm so excited! Nimrod's one of my favorites. And one of my friends who's a casual fan has Nimrod as one of their favorite albums.

  31. Maybe this was a bit more last minute? Maybe they're wanting another good stocking stuffer like they did with BBC Sessions and it'll be out in early-to-mid December

  32. I mean a demo for an unreleased song is really cool but I'd honestly be disappointed if that was all we were getting for Nimrod's 25th. If there is something more than just a single demo release, will it also come on the 14th or will it come later? I mean it would make more sense to release it all together for the actually date of Nimrod's anniversary, right?

  33. Wonder if it's only the release of You Irritate Me or a complete CD of demos.

  34. An unreleased song? I’ll take it! I sometimes wonder if green day ever even thinks to re-record some of their unreleased tracks, I sure wouldn’t mind if they’ve did I’m excited for this regardless

  35. They were considering a double album for it at one point. Would be cool if they put out a restored double album version like Paul did with Red Rose Speedway, but I’d bet odds on that are low. Hell, I’d take even just a proposed tracklist.

  36. I can forgive the trilogy for this, I think they needed to take a step back and just make some GD songs rather than try and take over the world with some concept. But they kinda fucked that up by trying to make it a trilogy. The volume of work made it complicated to digest despite them moving to a more simple formula. Rev Rad wasn't cohesive but showed moments that they still have it should they wish to tap into it. As for Foam it actually sounds like they called Butch Walker and they phoned it in and he recorded the phone lol At this point they should take their time on albums like Social Distortion does. I'm in no rush to see Green Day live for a while. They play the same 20 songs over and over now and no new songs can make the setlist. The whole point of making albums like AI and 21CB was to compliment their setlist and grow their live show.

  37. This is now two they've had a problem with. Bastards are lowering my average! 😄

  38. The honesty doesn’t tend to come out until the next cycle so I’m curious if we’ll get some truths about FOAM once they’re discussing the new album and contrasting it with what they did previously. That’s usually when they backtrack.

  39. Not according to Butch Walker. It was their biggest success since AI! 😂

  40. Billie says a lot of things. Sometimes he changes his mind only seconds later. *Flashback to BIAB* Billie: "This song's called St Jimmy!" Billie: "Starry nights, city lights coming down over me..."

  41. It's a me. Billie! And I'm freaking out.

  43. It's okay to be excited and optimistic, I am. But when you're 0 in 143 in your predictions you can take a break.

  44. That's what he's talking about too.

  45. Nothing will be announced during the F1 shows in October. Next month will probably be quiet about 1972 again. But I'm optimistic for november tho
