  4. Okay guys, now we have 1 show left, the F1 show in Texas on the 21st and that's it for this year!!! I think between now and then, we'll get maybe 1 or 2 more teasers, then an announcement on November 1st, a single on November 10th, and the album in February 2023!!

  5. It's not so bad if you ignore that it comes back to the same conversation every couple of pages

  6. I was lead to believe there was a whole other album ready to go by the time FOAM released. This could have been The Network as @pacejunkie punk pointed out.

  7. Thank god I was starting to worry they ate them.

  8. I don’t accept at all the “troll” album theory, yes it’s short, yes it’s different but I think this is just people who don’t like it trying to deal with their disappointment. Billie did say frequently during promo that it was their last album with Warner/Reprise but if they felt that strongly about leaving the contract then I can’t believe they would have resigned with Reprise.

  9. I've not listened to that album but it seems to have been received well by critics and fans according to metacritic https://www.metacritic.com/music/the-end-so-far/slipknot (at least compared to FOAMF) And how do you determine that they put low effort into the album Regardless, I'd lose respect for any band who puts less effort into an album or just deliberately makes your album bad just to piss off their label. When fans are waiting years between albums, it just suggests that you don't care about your fans. I don't think Green Day did that with FOAMF. I think they just wanted to make an album like that and that they liked it. There isn't any reason to claim that's what they did either. Everyone's just said that because they don't like FOAMF and want to believe that Green Day wouldn't make an album they don't like unless they were trying to make a bad album

  12. I was wondering If we will hear someday all these Network/Foxboro songs in previously Green Day versions I have already said that here, but I think the Hella Mega was made 'cause they want to bring more people to Green Day shows in future. So play all the hits in many festivals around the world was the best choice.

  13. For half of the tour, they didn’t even include songs from Rev Rad as well. I know Still Breathing was played for the first leg, but part of me believes that was added given the pandemic and all. I’ve never looked, but I’m almost positive that all the songs in their set list right now are all the top played songs on Spotify

  14. Omgggg Brutal Love as a closer!!! I was lucky enough to see it close out their Chicago show in 2013. I was beyond thrilled. Also, hey Billie! Looking good as always

  15. I don’t think it was a troll or even a low effort album (well it was low effort in that it was 26 minutes long). But I do think they decided to experiment with a style they’re weren’t really comfortable with and didn’t care about the consequences because what would the label do? They could afford to take the loss on it so they had the freedom to be weird. They knew they weren’t making any attempt at a “comeback” or big hit record (which was why they almost called it American Idiot 2 and scribbled over AI for the cover - yes, that was undoubtedly a troll according to Billie himself)

  17. Happy birthday to Warning which is 22 today. Here's Kerrang's article about the album for anyone who hasn't seen it before https://www.kerrang.com/green-day-the-inside-story-of-warning/

  20. Yes, but I dont think any announcement and single will happen this year. If an announcement is in January and a single that same day, I think a Feb release would be too soon. I'm think an April/May release at the earliest
    3 points
  21. I’m thinking more like February at the earliest for any sort of announcement/single. Probably an album in May or June

  22. I know that for their friendship, it was a bad era for the band but dammit Warning-era Billie is so adorable. I love how he looks in the Waiting MV, especially in that jean jacket ❤️ nothing wrong with being chubby.

  24. Yeah I pointed out recently that they probably knew they weren't going to get to play a lot of these songs live because of Hella Mega tour so they just decided to make whatever they wanted, regardless of whether it would work live or not

  25. It would seem very unlike them to just mail it in, but a 10-track LP clocking in at the minimum, after a 4-year gap, sort of does beg the question. One thought I had was that maybe the songs put a lot of strain on BJ's voice. Imagine him yelping out FRA every night for 6 months or whatever before his vocal chords are just like "nope". They've also pointed out in the past that they don't write songs which can't be played live. That may well have been true up until this record- we all know there was plenty of experimentation on FOAM, and maybe that was the goal more than translating the songs to a live setting.

  26. Because it was a greatest hits tour. In this Kerrang interview, Billie literally says that the reason for the album's omission from the tour wasn't because of their dislike of the record but because they wanted to "play the songs that are most sentimental at this moment" which is probably why they played Pollyanna for the tour because it was released in the middle of the pandemic and had the message of everything is going to be alright. Billie even says "I love the record" "especially side two". You can think he's not being entirely truthful there but there is literally no evidence to suggest that the band dislikes the album This album seems to be more disliked by fans than the trilogy anyway

  27. Link here, but it's just a summary (you can use Google to translate the page to English). There's no link to the podcast. Hope someone can find it online: https://www.virginradio.it/news/rock-news/1285057/green-day-dalla-canzone-preferita-all-album-piu-frainteso-billie-joe-armstrong-racconta-i-momenti-migliori-della-band.html?fbclid=IwAR0mVsQDAP4tkJGP0ZZ36UDNDn-kWTq-rwcff5pm4KEedvt1woC3Pr2R9MM Sounds like it's news about the interview but the podcast itself isn't out yet. It's not Italian, Craig Jenkins is an American music journalist. I'm glad to see Billie doing more podcasts. I look forward to this, even though there are no major revelations in the article.

  28. This at least was supposed to be a FOAM track

  29. Confirmed 1972 track, ba bam! 😄 The album is going to sound like Let Yourself Go if it was 36 minutes long instead of a couple minutes. Okay. Okay.

  33. slipknot had to make one final lp for the contract at roadrunner records, so they put low/less effort in the music just to put the album out of the way and finish with roadrunner records they also said that roadrunner records turned bad and its not as good as it was in the beginning fans on the internet mostly say its slipknots worst album ever so yeah, i can see the same treatment as green day did with foam to warner :D

  34. I don't think so. Maybe it's one of the techs or something I can't believe at first I didn't look very hard, thought it was Billie and put it on Tumblr then I looked closer and realised

  35. All the tickets say 8am the grounds Pass and the GD tickets and it’s weird too because even though the Green Day tickets say General Admission, they have section, row and seat numbers too. The venue looks like an amphitheater with a pit, seats and lawn but there was no seat selection when I bought them it was all GA so I have no idea if there’s seats or not or who gets access to where. Just gonna show up and roll with it.

  36. THIS! Does anyone actually know why this song gets played every show? Are they making money from it? Is the band obsessed with Gene Simmons? Does Green Day have a Kiss obsessed girlfriend? This doesn’t make sense why this song makes every setlist even with time restrictions. What is the real reason? It doesn’t make sense.

  43. Sometimes I think people forget that Warning era Billie was a thing. He’s been tubbier. Now everything gets blamed on age. Genetics/body type and lifestyle are factors too. Doesn’t matter, we’ve seen him all sizes through the decades and he’s always adorable no matter what.

  44. Yep, he did, in an interview with Lee Kirk.
