They’re resorting to fail videos now 😂 But Billie is such a sweetheart everyone is laughing when Chris wipes out and Billie is immediately there to see if he’s okay 🥰4 points
-
That’s true, but notice how the focus is entirely on the three fingers? They were intentionally giving a hint there, it was not subtle in the slightest. My original post was more referring to burying a hashtag on a post or something like that. I remember there was a theory from one of the teasers that Mike slightly curved the 2 in 1972 to look kinda like a three to represent three albums. Stuff like that is something they’d never do4 points

Well, that’s a far better write up than I expected! I just saw they’d been papped by the Daily Mail, which is a right wing tabloid (read rag) in the UK which has clearly had to drag itself into the 21st century, in years gone by they would have been scathing about Billie not being as young and slender as he used to be! Nice to see them relaxing and yes, reading the forum, the Armstrong’s and Dirnts together 😂3 points

I feel like I will continue to say this until the day I die: Green Day has never been ones for using sneaky promotion. They wouldn’t hide song titles in hashtags. They wouldnt be leaving very obscure details in posts for people to look into. They’ve never done it, and I don’t think they ever will. We have gotten some fun teasers with glimpses of the product and that’s it. I think we need to take all of their teasing at face value3 points

Show in LA the night before the Florida show is what makes me suspicious. In fact I'm sure there were photos of the band with Serena Williams in Florida that night so must be fake.2 points

If they are making a documentary about the making of the album, I'd enjoy that. Each album has different development and its always interesting to see how they go about it each time. I don't want anything more than that. I don't want to see some reflection piece about the band. I feel like we have gotten more than enough material and interviews about their past and how they became the band they are. Even if the guys are 51, 1972 could still be the name of the album. Who cares if they are 51 when it comes out, they were still born that year. This should be something as new and as fresh as they can make it. If they try copying some old style of theirs, I would actually be disappointed2 points

The album's coming out in 2023, that's not their 50th birthdays anymore. We don't even know if the album title is still gonna be 1972 (or if it ever was)2 points

Yeah, this is the guy who branded that poor sod on the Pop Disaster tour! 😂 You are right though; I think he was appalled by the damage that did.2 points

Makes perfect sense. They started by recording 6 songs in London, then went back to make a longer album, going to LA and back to London. To fit in with the 1972 theme, I'm hoping it's at least before Billie's 51st birthday, which is the 17th. For all we know, the album could come out on Tuesday, February 7th, which is the 3rd anniversary of FOAM. So if that's the case, maybe we'd get a single in late October or mid November. Perfect opportunities to perform the single at the Game Awards in December and then New Year's Eve!!!! Then maybe they can tour Europe starting in March. And hey, for all we know, with all this time they're taking, this could be a double album or a Trilogy done right!!!!2 points

Plans have clearly changed at this point. We've heard from the man himself that 2023 is when the new album should come out. Also, he just implied they'd be touring North America next summer. I think we're probably in for a Spring/early Summer album release. With a single probably a few months prior.2 points

When I was shopping in town with mum and she told me that a nearby busker had just started to play When Sept Ends. She wants to see GD the next time they come to the UK (after being underwhelmed by a couple of 1980s acts’ live shows earlier this year, she now wants to see younger, livelier acts with a reasonable set length).2 points

I have a really good feeling about this album!! Just look at what someone commented on this video “Now THAT’S Green Day!”1 point
-
Or he was just looking at Google images and found that cover cuz I printed that out like two years ago as a CD cover so it's not like he just made it They already have 2 docs turn it around and the early years1 point

As much as I'm over KFAD, I have to admit it does sometimes bring fangirl worthy moments1 point

I honestly didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary and we didn’t get it, so I’m not too bummed out. If they were to play new material they’d do another secret show like in the trilogy days, not to 7000-8000 people1 point
-
Right now I'd take 90 minutes of KFAD I miss seeing the guys live so much1 point

Maybe practicing it first during soundcheck. Maybe during if recording is restricted1 point

I think we can close this thread now that we know '1972' is just the name of Billie's new leather-vest fashion line being rolled out next year.1 point

I usually cut the shrink around the sticker and slip it in the sleeve or leave it in the box1 point

I know this isn’t a trilogy thread, I wish it could be done all over again. With the band available to promote, things would have gone much differently (for the better, I presume). And if it was a singular album? Gahhh, it could have been considered one of their best.1 point

His voice is fine I saw em in 05, 09, and hella mega at Hersey they were the best live band easily out of the others and his vocals were stronger and better then the other front men..people need to chill1 point

I'm pretty sure for my first listen to FOAMF I still started on track 1 even though I had heard tracks 1-3 already. I think hearing the album in its full context is the best way to first experience a new album regardless of if you've heard some of the tracks already Also hot take but I think Oh Love was the best choice for a lead single for Uno! Except for maybe Let Yourself Go (although that might've mislead people into thinking most of the project would have that kind of energy)1 point

Yeah. There's also a youtube audio recording from a 924 Gilman https://youtu.be/nCt0rSD5Ds81 point

Don’t agree at all with the RevRad tour comment. I’ve been watching these guys live since 96 and RevRad tour had the best, most varied set lists. Granted most tours they do, the setlists have a spine of songs they always play and in the same point each night, but on the RevRad tour there were nights where they’d bust into Armatage Shanks, Private Ale, to name a couple. That was them at their absolute peak. Billie sounded incredible, the shows were breathtaking and the new songs they played at that time, all still rule. RevRad era was top top class.1 point
