  2. I was thinking that too. I like the star shirt with the velvet. And that shirt looks a bit longer, so he can get rid of the undershirt (please please).

  7. Longer recap: I arrived to the line around 10 am, and I wonder in that moment where almost 5 years went. In 2017 they played in the exact same place, in a kind of close date. I couldn't stop thinking how time flies and how I had another chance (the 4th one) to see my favorite band again 900 miles away from my home. I arrived to Buenos Aires the wednesday - show was sunday - traveling from south of Chile with my longtime girlfriend, flying with no hiccups, to encounter our long lost friends in Argentina. It was a fine wait in the line, a warm day. I lost contact of my people entering the stadium but it was fine. I was trying to enjoy the show for myself, besides to trying to record audio for posterity. The opener was Bastardos del Under, a punk band from the local scene that was shared by Billie Joe in his Instagram few months ago, where its members were around 17-20 year olds. They were really great. Is a hard to grasp feeling that one night you are playing for 100 people in a bar, then another you are opening for one of the biggest bands of the planet in front of 20000+ people. The crowd was respectful, and Bastardos really nailed for what they are right now. I would shit my pants if something similar would happened to me. After a while, Billy Idol comes into the stage, and it was a very pleasant surprise to me the fact I never, ever, ever expected to see that man live in my whole life. I knew Dancing with myself, and that was the opener. The man is old but still got what it takes to make a great show. I'm not a fan, but experiences like I'm not taking them for granted. After the death of Taylor Hawkins, I won't make that mistake again. The sound of Idol and his band were a lot better than Green Day themselves, but I think the problem resided in the lacking of a more powerful PA more than their sound engineer liking to push too much the system. Finally, Green Day entered the scene and the crowd went fucking nuts, as they always do. Living a big show in Argentina is an experience in its own. The intro mix of Blitzkrieg Bop, We will rock you and I love rock and roll is truly a great addition. It dresses the show with a sense of ceremony, something I missed since the Breakdown days. The setlist was the usual, and it makes me a bit sad in the matter that my goal of seeing/hearing other songs I haven't before did not advance much this time, but I knew it was the most possible scenario, so I don't cry about it. Where I did cry was hearing "Don't wanna be an American Idiot" again. The tiny drops from my eyes didn't restrain. I did it in KYE in 2017, I did it again at this show. My body knows that this opportunities are gold, it just can't be stopped. The visuals, the pyro were finer than any of the other shows of GD I have been able to witness. The show was executed perfectly, but I did miss the spontaneous approach of the former shows. The highlights to me was finally hearing Welcome To Paradise, Waiting in their original tunning, Wake Me Up full band and the Tre Cool solo. Probably not much people know that Tre didn't felt good enough to make those in shows. It shows how much his playing has improved, and it amazing to see that even after all these years of success, they are still hungry for more. After a while I did get lost in my head just realize that the show was ending. I just thanked my lucky stars to be able to see them and my Argentinian friends. I just hope the new album cycle brings them around this corner of the planet again. I'll be there if life let me do so. Good night.

  11. I would say ever since the covid pandemic. Last year when they were touring Mike stayed in different hotels with Britt who couldn’t join the tour due to being an idiot and it seems they never went back to socializing together with the rest of the band

  13. Don’t agree at all with the RevRad tour comment. I’ve been watching these guys live since 96 and RevRad tour had the best, most varied set lists. Granted most tours they do, the setlists have a spine of songs they always play and in the same point each night, but on the RevRad tour there were nights where they’d bust into Armatage Shanks, Private Ale, to name a couple. That was them at their absolute peak. Billie sounded incredible, the shows were breathtaking and the new songs they played at that time, all still rule. RevRad era was top top class.

  16. I say we've talked about 1972 enough. When it is released, GDA should just shut down any related threads and not allow any discussion of it at all. It'll be a nice little experiment to see how we feel about an album we can't go on GDA and talk about. Lift the ban 2 years after the album release and then we can have competent conversations about how we felt about it. MODs, ya seeing this?

  17. There won't be an album announcement without the release of a single, or at least the announcement of a single. If it is simply an announcement of a single, I would doubt it would take months for it to release.

  30. Apparently, Mariah Carey is a Green Day fan. This article talking about her long lost grunge album (sign me up please) mentioned her loving Dookie around the time she recorded it: https://consequence.net/2022/09/mariah-carey-reissue-grunge-album/

  38. I wouldn't say Holy Toledo was really good. It was good. Better than most of FOAM if not all of it, but it's still the same kind of song you'd expect after FOAM. I definitely don't want them to continue with that sound for 1972
