just got back home from Rock I Rio! I'll try to write a quick recap... The show was nuts. The best part is that the big media, who ignored the band for so many years in Brazil, are completely delighted by their performance. And the guys just did their usal show.. My bet is that they willl be here in the next RIR again It was insane, elected the best show and Green Day was also the band who dragged the biggest crowd to main stage. Both people who got on stage were near me in the pit, the green haired girl, Barbara, got some cool photos with them in Rio in the days before the show, so she got everything that was possible a fan can get. Awesome I spent like 15 hours standing in the same spot, back aches since the early evening haha. Have no problemas drinking just enough water to no have to get out to piss (some girls around me were wearing diapers..................), didn't have lunch, just morning coffee and some crackers. Worthed it all, but it is exausting... I can't understand people saying that festivals are better than regular solo shows... no fucking way funny thing is that the next night our group went to a pub with the personal security guard that worked for the band in south america in 2017, and was working for Avril Lavigne this time, such a cool person, he even payed all of our expenses at the bar hahahha Those were three crazy days in Rio, amazing to met so many fans and to see people recognizing me for the work on Green Day Brasil, it was really unexpected Can't wait for the next tour!

Sounds like a good break is needed after these planned shows wrap up. Take the rest of the year to rest and refresh, and come back in 2023 with the album strong.

I got home too, bit depressed, because I felt in love for Rio (was my first time there) and seeing the media electing the boys as the best show is so amazing. Hopefully this means they coming here more often now.

He seemed to be in pretty good form on Rio, not seen much yet from Argentina. Every time I look at those crowds, their reaction and the whole circus that surrounds these massive shows and being in a band of this calibre, I don’t know how anyone copes with it, hopefully he just needs some peace.

The joy I feel that finally casual Brazilians now know that Green Day put the best show 🥰 I don't know how many artists performed at Rock in Rio - it's a huge festival, 7 days - and GD is elected the best! We already knew it! (I feared Coldplay could take their spot but they only reached #6)

So Rock in Rio is over and our boys are still mentioned as the best concert of this edition: Hopefully this means they'll play more often in South America in the years to come 🤞

He's such a private guy and is a bit more humble and shy when not on stage, so @Beerjeezus might be be right. He may just be overwhelmed right now, especially if he's having vocal issues. If he's just taking care of himself then that's good. I wouldn't want him to be having any problems. Sometimes I get scared for him because of his history...

Okay, I was nice about the last show but gosh dang, Green Day. Think about the rich, rich fans who are front row center at every show in the world. Not that they are bored with your setlist, noooo. But whoever they are....they can now perform your show with their hands tied behind their back. They could hit the road as Green Day 2.0 and everyone will go see those rich weirdos instead of you because they might switch it up every 1000 shows or something. I'm going to go see if Viagra Boys or Highly Suspect have really cool message boards like this one. And if they do..... Well... I'll become obsessed with them. I guess I should see if they play the same show every night for 20 years in a row first. But gosh darn it, Green Day. I known it a huge production and things are timed and Yada Yada, but there's room for audibles. For these sucky setlists, I demand the next audible be a Know One Knows / Jerry Caldwells Pool Party / Kill the DJ medley. And bring back the Midwest medley too, but add Southern Girls to it. Kidding, kidding. But if we get 1972 and they don't perform any songs from it, I'ma actually email Billie and ask what the deal is.

I mean when someone says "I'm not interested in hearing their new stuff" I don't think that means "I'm not gonna go if they're playing any material I haven't heard before". I think it just means "I'm mostly coming for the hits and the songs I already know. They can play a couple new songs but I don't want half of the songs to be brand new songs I've not heard before" To be fair, if I was going to a show of a band I wasn't that familiar with, I wouldn't be wanting to hear a ton of brand new songs I've never heard before. I prefer my first experience listening to a new song or album to not be live. I prefer hearing the live version of a song after I'm already familiar with the studio version.

He's comparing two bands who put some of the best concerts of the festival. He says that both bands "operate" differently on the brain (Green Day access anger and Coldplay access love - first difference) and on stage (second difference). Green Day wins because on stage they let the crowd free to feel their own emotions during the concert (making them more honest) while Coldplay's is a big timed spectacle (for example, they distributed bracelets that have some kind of technology and during certain times of songs, they would all light up at the same time).

I don’t think that’s it that happens every year but someone on reddit also said he spent the two days they were in Brazil in the hotel while we saw the others out to clubs and on boat cruises and stuff. Hope everything’s okay. I do think he was having voice issues by the end of the Rio show but who knows what it is, if anything.

I am not a realistic person by any stretch of the imagination. What a weird sentence. Anyway, I've crafted a setlist that looks like something the band would actually play, if they didn't hate everything they've done for the last 12 years for some reason. It's still singles out the wazoo, but fans would FREAK at the self titled song and I think Meet Me on the Roof would send the crowd in hysterics. There really is no better music than FOAM music.
