  1. Maybe they’ll celebrate the 10th anniversary of rehab by doing another rehab

  2. According to my very real and legitimate and not made up at all inside sources, every time @GDFan2019tries to make a prediction, Green Day pushes the release back little by little. Trust me, my source is that I made it up and that is as good a reason to believe as any other.

  4. I wish everybody would stop referring to GD as a heritage act. No they are not. They are still making and recording new music. OK so FOAM might not be my personal favourite GD album, but I still think it has some good songs on it. Every band has highs and lows, and everyone has an opinion and a different take on the music output, but just to say GD are a heritage act because of the last record (or even because of 'The Triliolgy' is stupid). Maybe not everything has gone to plan with the release of the last few records, (BJ's rehab stint etc) and Covid disrupting record promotion and touring, but that doesn't mean that the band is not proud of it's music or doesn't care anymore. GD have always changed their sound or tried new things on records, they do not just regurgitate the same thing all the time. Sometimes things work better than others, but they try. Yes it would be nice if GD sometimes mixed up setlists a bit more and played a few more surprising songs, but they have to try to please a lot of people who make up a crowd, who might only know the most popular songs. They want everybody to have a good time at the shows, and I suppose they think by playing the hits, they are pleasing the majority. They will never be able to pick a setlist that will please everybody 100%. OK rant over!

  5. If this is the case, the album shouldn't be out until 2040 at the earliest

  7. Let's settle this once and for all. I'm ringing up my good buddy, Wiki Pedia and he's gonna give it to my straight. Green Day is an AMERICAN ROCK BAND. They are a rock band that uses elements from Punk Rock, Pop Punk, Alternative Rock, Skate Punk and Power Pop. And Garage Rock. And Garage Punk. And Arena Rock. And Folk Punk. So there you have it. They are simple a plain ole rock band that uses their love of these 9 subgenres to craft their music.

  8. So if they are classed as Punk Rock it’s good and Pop Punk it’s bad? Or the other way around? I just like the music, I don’t see why it matters what “box” someone wants to put it into.

  17. I do really enjoy the variety on Nimrod. I've got a very soft spot in my heart for 'The Grouch' and 'Scattered'. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd love to hear GD play these live again!

  18. No past events should ever be a baseline for the future. We're speculating because we're bored and have nothing else to go on. There is nothing, other than Billie saying 2023 (which I can confirm), to base this speculation on. That could mean January, but it could also mean December. We have no idea and what the band did for FOAM, RevRad, or Dookie has no bearing on what is going to be done for this next album. Marketing music these days is very different when compared to late 2019/early 2020, 2016, 2012, and 1994. Green Day's popularity and the lens in which people view them through is also very different. They're now more of a legacy act than a heart-throbbing punk rock group that is blasted all over Top 40 radio and Hot Topic and Claire's stores. When they want us to know something, they will make it incredibly clear. Until then, I think we should all go outside.

  19. "Best" is such a subjective term.... an opinionated preferential that lobotomizes the fluidity of changes that could in fact be deemed better. Let Green Day be Green Day! Long Live Green Day and the moments they aim for! Let their creativity not be a hardship!

  20. It's hard for me to say which album is the best. Green Day has so many great records and each record plays a special part in their story. Nimrod has always been one that I've spoken about a lot with non-Green Day fans, especially those who were divisive with "old green day vs new green day". "I'm not down with new Green Day" Oh ok so anything after Insomniac you're not down with? "AI and after" Yeah but GD already became so called New Green Day during Nimrod. Nimrod was huge for Green Day's growth and there's just a great range of different songs and a ton of tracks. You get your money's worth with Nimrod. I do wish they released one album between Warning and AI though because 2002 was a really great year for Green Day as a band but it's an era easily not known about or forgotten because there was no real album released during that time. It probably would have beat out Warning but wouldn't have had much impact overall but I could see that album being respected retroactively.
