I feel like the more you guess, the more Green Day goes out of their way just to delay the release by a little bit.12 points

No past events should ever be a baseline for the future. We're speculating because we're bored and have nothing else to go on. There is nothing, other than Billie saying 2023 (which I can confirm), to base this speculation on. That could mean January, but it could also mean December. We have no idea and what the band did for FOAM, RevRad, or Dookie has no bearing on what is going to be done for this next album. Marketing music these days is very different when compared to late 2019/early 2020, 2016, 2012, and 1994. Green Day's popularity and the lens in which people view them through is also very different. They're now more of a legacy act than a heart-throbbing punk rock group that is blasted all over Top 40 radio and Hot Topic and Claire's stores. When they want us to know something, they will make it incredibly clear. Until then, I think we should all go outside.9 points

Enjoy 15 months of GDFan saying "I think the album should be coming any day now"8 points

This thread is already getting annoying. Imagine if it's really December 2023.8 points

I'm so shocked that it wasn't about Green Day. GDFan has never been wrong about this stuff before. Ever7 points

Man, 1972 is gonna suck and it just doesn't feel like the band is excited about it. I miss the FOAM era4 points

I don’t think the teasing should really be any indication of when things will be released. I actually love that we have been getting these teasers for so long. It’s just a consistent reminder that things are happening. We have to remember, the guys have played a bunch of shows over the last year, and they also have personal lives that I’m sure they all value. I think it would be worse if we knew they were in London last year, but then never heard anything for a year.4 points

I managed to get one from someone on Craigslist! AHHHHHHHHH I'M SO EXCITEDDDDDDDD4 points

Hey guys what's up? I don't know if you already heard of Hella Tiny Tour. It a project we started to let Green Day knows we'd LOVE to have some European deep cut/club shows. We started a petition that you can sign here: https://tinyurl.com/5y5wwtmm Since we appeared on BJ's stories twice we wanna take this to another level, and for that we need your help with the Hella Tiny Tour Video Project: What you need to do: - Make a sign with your favorite deep cut song written on it. - Take a picture or video (5 sec max) of yourself while holding the sign. - Be sure it is in portrait and not landscape (vertically!) - Shoot in front of your country’s flag, a well known monument, building or local venue or anything you want. Be creative! - Send your picture/video on Instagram DM or send it to hellatinytour@gmail.com - Deadline: When we are getting close to receiving enough photo’s and video’s we’ll give you guys a heads up on this page and let you know how many days there are left to participate! We will collect all the photo’s and video’s, make a video out of it and share it on our social media accounts. Let’s go!! *If don't wanna show your face it's ok to show just the paper sign; ** If you can't go in some landscape or famous buildings it's ok your home or where you prefer We'd be happy if you would take part in the project!3 points

I don’t think FOAM should be our baseline for any future Green Day releases.3 points

Hella Tiny Tour for the states too! Just make all shows tiny, both domestically and internationally.3 points

Green day is a dynamic band but also how we categorize music now has changed. Artists are pushing "genre fluidity" not just to allow experiments and artistry but because it's easy for their writing teams to continually use generic progressions and scratch the surface of multiple genres than to try and actually stay fresh and write stylistically for such artist. To explain further MGK is a perfect example of the master of none syndrome I've referred to here. Green Day from a radio perspective in 2022 would solely be considered Alternative and as of late even considered Classic Rock or "New Classic Rock". Most of their airplay now are on those channels. In the 2000s they could easily be slotted into pop rock with select singles falling into soft rock or ez rock rotations. As for a sub-genre debate they're punk. You could break it down further from there and say pop-punk as they've incorporated elements of pop rock and classic rock into their sound over the years. But the whole "are they punk?" debate is a waste of discussion imo. Listen to The Ramones then listen to Green Day prior to 2000. Is there really that much of a difference?3 points

https://www.greendayauthority.com/news/5278/ When radio stations don't give details and tease it as "huge, huge announcement," I don't even pay attention because it is likely overhype to get people to listen during their advertising prime time.3 points

It would be a bit rushed if they release something soon. It's been a year of touring so they might want to take a rest.2 points

It's hard for me to say which album is the best. Green Day has so many great records and each record plays a special part in their story. Nimrod has always been one that I've spoken about a lot with non-Green Day fans, especially those who were divisive with "old green day vs new green day". "I'm not down with new Green Day" Oh ok so anything after Insomniac you're not down with? "AI and after" Yeah but GD already became so called New Green Day during Nimrod. Nimrod was huge for Green Day's growth and there's just a great range of different songs and a ton of tracks. You get your money's worth with Nimrod. I do wish they released one album between Warning and AI though because 2002 was a really great year for Green Day as a band but it's an era easily not known about or forgotten because there was no real album released during that time. It probably would have beat out Warning but wouldn't have had much impact overall but I could see that album being respected retroactively.2 points

It doesn't work here in the EU 😪 I'll probably have to get a VPN exclusively to watch this. At 5am on a Saturday 😅 That's the first time we'll get a pro-shot of a full concert in South America isn't it? We only got a couple of songs in Buenos Aires in 2010 and a few others in Sao Paulo in 1998 but that's all.1 point

AHAHAHAHAAH and IT'S GOOOOD! But stop wasting time doing this and instead... work on the album1 point

It's not from Green Day but the lyrics are nice. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMN3nE6Y8/1 point

Why not just ask them if it was about GD instead of being vague? Afraid of "no"?1 point

Did you ask about new music in a general sense, or new GREEN DAY music? if you asked the former, then there’s a 0% chance its about anything Green Day.1 point

The WMUWSE jokes are coming. Please remember it's only jokes. We know it's about his father. And no he didn't locked himself in his room and screamed to his mother ''Wake me up when september ends''1 point

In Cuatro, I'm sure that Billie said 'Nimrod. Lyrical nightmare'. He mentioned taking the songs into the studio & having to write the lyrics in the studio. Anyway, personally i think the lyrics in Nimrod are his best work, by a longshot (no pun intended). We know he chops & changes his mind quite a lot too, i'm sure on another day he'll tell you how proud he is of the lyrics on that record. Guitar sounds, tones, bass & drum sounds, all sound perfect on this album. I love how clear the hats are from Tre. The songs really drive along because of this. Last Ride In is so perfect too, such a chill vibe.1 point
