On the latest episode of The Office Ladies with Jenna Fischer, and Angler Kinsley, they had the director of Ordinary World, Lee Kirk, on and he revealed he's working on another project with Billie Joe. He didn't give any details as to what it was but clearly Billie still has the acting bug.13 points

So, just to be clear we need more eyeline and less clothing? Sound right to me. Surely in the summer he could pair back the long sleeves etc, far less forgo the undershirt, was it cold in Berlin and at Rock Am Ring? I hope he's not conscious about any weight gain, he doesn't need to be!6 points

I noticed they now have a new profile image on TikTok. Has the transition away from the FOAM era started?5 points

Cool! I greatly enjoy watching Billie act whether it's good or bad . But I think the best acting he's done (besides the AI musical which was on stage + singing so more in his usual lane) was in Ordinary World. I thought the film itself wasn't great but the acting including Billie's was good. So hoping something comes from this.5 points

Billie in that movie was adorable and great in every moment 😍 I think with a good script and a good director he would have had a chance to succeed as an actor.5 points

I hope it’s more acting. I guess it’s possible it could be movie music or script writing but I really want to see him act some more. He seemed really into it for a while and then it just stopped. I was hoping for that Young and the Restless cameo 😄 Wish it wasn’t with Lee Kirk though. Billie was great but the film was just meh.4 points

No matter how many performances I see of Hitchin a Ride, I will never not have a big stupid grin on my face when watching them. ☺️4 points

That's a normal ticket price in the US. Actually, for a large act, I feel that $85 is cheap when looking at other artists' fees. Plus touring costs more these days.3 points

At this point I’m convinced they must be in some kind of dire straits.3 points

Billie seemed to have a good time making Ordinary World so good for him. (that's the most positive comment I can muster on the subject of Ordinary World)3 points

I think @Beerjeezus means Johnny Depp but I had to look to find out. Things aren't always what they seem. We don't know why Billie follows him and so anything is speculation3 points

I approve of the increase in eyeliner. Good job, Billie! I wouldn't say no to even more, though.3 points

Sorry I don't know. Maybe someone else who's booking in the US might know? This is the seating plan online Even if there's a pit at the front I imagine the $85 tickets might be third tier? You could possibly message the venue. I saw there's a contact us option on the website2 points
-
It's expensive for sure but it's a fairly intimate venue (7,000 cap). Hopefully this means more shows at smaller places. I wouldn't count on it though because these casino venues often book big bands on Sun-Thurs at a loss (they pay the artist their usual guaranteed rate even though they can't make a profit with the limited amount of tickets they have to sell) just to get people into the casino on week nights.2 points

Ooh how exciting! I have yet to watch Ordinary World and don't know if I ever will (that moment in the trailer where he's like 'you up for a little quickie?' always makes me cringe lmao) but I'm excited to see what this means! Might be another few years though until we get any more information. Could explain why he's going to London so much too, the movie could be taking place on location there!2 points

So I had a dream that GD were playing in Wigan and that my train happened to stop at Wigan on my way home from London (even tho it goes nowhere near Wigan irl lol). So I got off to be nosy and see what was happening. The stage was just like to the side of this dirt road and there was like zero security or fences or anything, and a tiny crowd (maybe about 500-700 people). They had the merch stands up but for some reason instead of selling GD merch they were selling these stuffed/cuddly cushions that were in the shape of those Among Us things but they weren't supposed to be those. And they looked exactly like something that I already owned 3 of in the dream so I was like wtf, how do I have GD merch before it was GD merch 🤔 I'm taking photos comparing my ones to the GD ones and sending them to my bf like look at this shit, they're selling my stuff as merch lmao At some point I met Tre and we talked but I can't remember what was said. And then I saw Billie and Mike talking to eachother not too far away, nobody was with them. Then Mike turns and starts walking towards me, says "see you later" to me as he walks past but I don't have time to say anything. I wanted to get a photo of his leopard print hair so I start following him at somewhat of a distance, secretly trying to get a decent pic. He keeps slowing down or walking back towards me and I think he knows he's being followed and trying to get me to back off, so I go back and find Billie again. He's running around and jumping in the air, I assume trying to get his energy up for the show. I'm taking videos and in one video he sort of jumps in the air and lands about 10ft away from me, and I get it on camera. I send it to my bf like OMG LOOK HOW CLOSE I AM TO BILLIE. And then I see Mike in the distance and go after him again to try and get a pic of his hair. I don't know if dream me ever did get that pic. I stayed to watch some of the show too, only had time to see a couple songs. Can't remember which songs they played but they were good, lots of pyrotechnics. Then on the way home I bumped into a random GDC user and they told me their daughter was supposed to be at the GD Wigan gig but she didn't know if she got there or not and for some reason she hadn't gone with her. And I was like "oh I was just there, I met Tre, Mike spoke to me and Billie was standing 10ft away from me, I could've spoken to him but I didn't" and she was super jealous lmao.2 points

If the venue is like 7,000 maybe I’ll go to it with the $85 price. Still a bit steep.1 point

Unfortunately it kind of is a real world problem. Ever since he won a lot of women are recanting their lawsuits, this is going to have a big affect on the metoo movement going forward. My mother who used to work with abuse survivors is very sickened by the whole thing. What @Beerjeezussaid is also right.1 point

No leniency, but I can try to scrawl some verses really quick. I got a bad bolt like some screws loose / dive bomb baby / burn the Hamptons to you Billie, Billie, Billie / medicate the night / moon kissing fools on a fireside Terror indicated / flayed the vision / equal inequality flying for your dead life / woo-hoo oh yeah! Okay, that felt good. Is 1972 out yet? Please Green Day, I'm desperate. This morning I listened to Post Malone. Post Malone!!!!!!!!1 point
-
Thats the Here Comes the Shock route They could go the Let Yourself Go route and shout the title 12x And if you are feeling a little lenient, then could go the 99 Revs route and sing the title 4x (if you exclude the "tonight" part). Bonus points if you do the last chorus instead, which is 8x.1 point

But to be fair, with all these synced and choreographed lighshows, visuals and pyros and stuff, it‘s much more difficult to play different songs at every show1 point

Reading an old NME interview with Elvis Costello from 1995 and he describes something that unfortunately makes me think of Green Day as they are on this tour. He starts by referring to artists he knows that put on a different show every night and are always trying new things with their shows (like EC himself still does): ”(They) are people I’m very encouraged by, they still make a huge effort. You know what it is? They haven’t settled for a safe version of themselves the way a lot of artists have. There are people who get to a certain stage in their careers, put on the grey suits, get some endorsements and go out with a carefully tailored version of what they used to do really well. There’s no chance of failure, there’s no chance of success, it’s just sad.”1 point
