The fact that I may have mutual friends and acquaintances is not creepy at all. I don’t care if people who know nothing about the situation choose to see it that way. Nothing is being “broadcast” in any detail.11 points

I think the plans changed since the first teaser, and I wouldn't be surprised if even some somgs teased don't male the final cut. My guess is hat everything changed after Cavallo jumped onboard. Even the 1972 title seems not to be a thing right now, maybe they choose to change it after the Black Crowes new album which has the same name7 points

I really thought Bang Bang was going to be a setlist mainstay when it was reworked as a guitar free St Jimmy like performance during the 2019 promotion cycle with Kevin filling in. It was such a highlight of those shows I was surprised to see it missing from Hella Mega. Hopefully it just missed the greatest hits cut and will return to the regular set on the next tour. It was one of my favorites of 2019 and one of the best things to come out of RevRad.7 points

Sorry these photos aren't great but I can read them (will try to get a better photo of page 6 where the light is shining on the text) Here is the link to my Tumblr post. I thought with the title and 1972 tease this was some big celebrate turning 50 release. 2023 doesn’t make as much sense. And what was with the fact that they have a new record deal now and can release music more frequently and in any form they want all about? Seems like the same old album every 3-5 years and tour cycle thing to me. Never thought I’d feel nostalgic for that. At least a single in 2022 would be something6 points

Well pack all your predictions in, Billie says in the new Kerrang interview that the new album probably won’t be out until 2023 😭😭😭6 points
-
While I'd be happy with the album releasing in 2023 if they're really putting that much work into it -- I also think maybe don't take this Kerrang thing as gospel? Sounds more like he's trying to make a point about the weirdness of time after the pandemic etc. rather than saying definitively that that's when the album is coming out. I also don't think we know when the interview actually happened? Things could have changed/sped up since. As long as we at least get a single this year, I think I'm happy5 points

Bang Bang brought me back to Green Day. I listened to it off of someone's recommendation, and well, I'm still here 6 years later. And I have nothing but praise for RevRad (both the album and the era). I'm also surprised the song was dropped from the playlist. Be nice if they brought it back and finally dropped KYE. As for the general public reception, I think the feeling was "GD is back" after everything that was the trilogy (not knocking the trilogy at all). I do feel AI was the more important single, since it helped launch them into the stratosphere (even if some fans weren't happy about it), whereas Bang Bang was more comfort food.5 points

It was insanely good at first listen and got many good reviews of the fandom, especially in GDC. Don't get me wrong, but when I first listened 'Bang Bang', I thought we're getting an epic album again, but after all RevRad was just a fair album.4 points
-
Why indeed. I suppose because they’re very excited by it and want to let us know they’re hard at work at something great so not to worry if we don’t get new music for a while. Without the teasing they would just be silent for months and that would suck. This way we have something to anticipate. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean it’s around the corner. I do hope we at least get more detail or even a single by the fall.4 points

*GDFan spontaneously combusts* Joking aside I’m glad they’re taking their time with this one and with it being separate from hella mega it will get its own album cycle and tour4 points

I just bought a ticket for my first green day show in Argentina, i can't be more excited!4 points

I'm fine with a 2023 release but it seems odd that the album that's supposedly meant to celebrate their 50 years alive is likely gonna release on their 51st year. I mean, if they don't think the album is gonna be ready for 2022, I'd definitely prefer for them to make sure they're happy with it before releasing it.3 points
-
I don’t either. It’s natural to feel the problems that are the closest to you the strongest - no one has the capacity to care about everything to the same extent, plus honestly, you guys objectively have it a lot worse than we do in a lot of aspects. I was just poking fun at him, but in reality, this is a sentiment I see a lot among US immigrants - they have their own little community that’s kind of distant from locals and they’re happy to live in a place where they’re not bothered by stuff like welfare insecurity and gun violence.3 points

What does Billie mean anyway when he says any band worth its salt should make a record like FOAM in its career? A record like what? What does FOAM represent in a band’s evolution exactly?3 points
-
Yes. I would say even more than AI. Although the reception for that would have been mostly positive, I imagine some old school GD fans may not have liked the new direction. I don't recall any negativity towards BB and near universal praise.3 points

Well I like Father of All, it‘s really energetic3 points

Well, I love the Trilogy and I love RevRad so this has certainly got a lot going for it. I'm just so happy they're working with Rob again!3 points

I got a Hawaiian pizza yesterday night and all I could think was Billie would hate this. It's pineapple on pizza.3 points

It's very interesting going through the lead singles and realizing that those are indeed the biggest singles for the most part. And in terms of how the fanbase feels about them, very beloved tracks as well. Know Your Enemy and Father of All... are the most criticized. BANG BANG is probably the most respected out of their post-Breakdown singles, but I'd say Longview and American Idiot are held in much higher regard. My own best and worst of the leads? I'd say Hitchin a Ride is the best and Stray Heart is the worst. These are the lead single of Green Day: Longview Geek Stink Breath Hitchin a Ride Minority American Idiot Know Your Enemy Oh Love Stray Heart X-Kid BANG BANG Father of All...3 points

I am happy to wait and look forward to new music coming. I’ve said all along they may just #1972 a lot this year due to them being 50 and it may mean nothing else. @Alf could be right too re Black Crowes album.2 points

Tbh, I appreciate Billie's honesty that he's not very informed about what's going on in the world outside of his home country, because that's true for like at least 95% of people. I mean, I'm pretty ignorant about what's going on in most places of the world. Ik what's happening in my country & in the US to a degree. But idk that much about what's going on in the rest of the world. Ignorance is not a good thing but pretending to know everything that's going on is just as bad, if not worse What he said about FOAMF is interesting. Obviously, the band is not going to say that "I hate that record that we just released a couple years ago" and I never thought that they hated it or that they just released it to get out of their contract. But I am curious about him pointing out that he especially likes side two of the album because that seems to be the case with most of the fans that they prefer side 2. So does he not care for the singles as much? (Does he agree with me that Teenage Teenager is an abomination of a song )2 points

I think we need to look at the videos as less than teases and more of a glimpse into what they’re up to, cause a teaser does make you think something is imminent and I’m not getting that vibe.2 points

It’s fine that he loves it, I just want more detail. What about it does he think makes it an important album? Is it just the fact that it subverts expectations and sounds nothing like the rest of their catalog? Is that what he thinks any band worth their salt should do? I wish he’d elaborate.2 points

Billie's true feelings about FOAM finally REVEALED! Green Day fans are going to HATE this!2 points

Grass is always greener, Billie. I can see the London thing being heavily criticized. It's easy when you're super rich to be a "citizen of the world." I get what he's saying but it reeks of privilege. So much for being an advocate of change. Just peace out, I guess.2 points

I don‘t think that 'American Idiot' (song) was well received by most of fans like 'Bang Bang'. There was a "drastic" change of Warning, and the oldies, to American Idiot.2 points
-
Personally I love Bang Bang the most of them. They kinda surprised us with such an aggressive fast song (yeah, Billie posted something like ‚kill pop in pop-punk’) and I love to think back to the time and the RevRad Era in general. But would say it‘s hard to pick cause we all have a different opinion and and meaning to the songs. They don‘t play „Bang Bang“ anymore so I dont know how important the song is for them. But I think the most important 1st single could be „American Idiot“ .2 points

It may not be 1972 anymore, given the suspected release date and how they've been using that hashtag less lately.1 point

Maybe we're getting a single this year with the new album coming in 2023 just like FOAM1 point

They're a lifesaver! It makes all the difference in the world. Especially for heat lovers like tomatoes. Hmmm. I know Mike likes to garden. I wonder if Billie ever has any interest in that. 🤔 I know in one of the dreams I had years ago, Billie and Adrienne had a garden and a shitload of cool houseplants.1 point

In the past week we've figured out the driving to Huddersfield, received and printed the tickets for the concert, and got an information update (i.e. catering, security, etc) about the gig from Ticketmaster, and all of this has finally got me excited about going. It's certainly been a Hella Mega wait for this tour to come our way. I've never been to a concert that isn't indoors before, therefore it'll be strange for me to see Weezer, FOB and the Manic Street Preachers (The Killers support act) play in broad daylight.1 point

Does anybody have a screenshot of the Green Day app logo? I remember it was green like Uno with the word Green Day in pink. That was the most useless app but I shouldn't have deleted it 😂 EDIT: Never mind I found it with Wayback Machine. It's literally the Uno cover. Shoutout to the iHeart Music Festival article. Boy they didn't knew what was going to happen.1 point
