I've heard this too, and it's seriously messed up. If that keeps up we'll be getting nothing but one hit wonders.8 points

I’m prob less optimistic that we get it before HM at this point. Big gaps in July and august though7 points

That was the day Mike gave it to him. Billie's wearing the same clothes he had on at the soundcheck photo they posted. It was the same day5 points

I agree with you but they're really not boomers lol, they're solid generation x. They're like 10 years too young to even be the youngest of boomers.5 points

Yup, June 1st, it ends on July 2nd and then they have Lollapalooza on July 28th to the 31st. So, I say, if anything, maybe we’ll get at least an announcement before next Wednesday for a single in July. If a single this big were coming out next week, we’d probably know about it by now. And I say big because Pollyanna, Here Comes the Shock, and Holy Toledo were probably just throwaway songs from FOAM4 points

That was the day they were doing the soundcheck for the Superbowl show so that's why they had their IEMs on. Kevin has his on too.4 points

American band Green Day, Irish boy band Westlife and American electronic dance music star Marshmello are set to perform at the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2022. Green Day, the trio behind songs such as Boulevard Of Broken Dreams (2004) and Basket Case (1993), will perform on Oct 2. The Grammy-winning band were originally supposed to stage a concert in Singapore in March 2020, which was later postponed to April 2021, but was eventually cancelled due to the pandemic. https://www.straitstimes.com/life/entertainment/green-day-westlife-and-marshmello-to-perform-at-singapore-f13 points

They recorded Pollyanna after FOAM and is about the pandemic/life after lockdown. i doubt they will release/announce a new song during the tour . Maybe after the whole Hella Mega tour with a release date and an upcoming tour short after album release like they did with RevRad.3 points

They do for these big show rehearsals with the full band. They didn’t start wearing in ears until after the AI tours I believe3 points
-
Didn’t know wether or not it was that - I considered it too. Im sure there’s some timeline matching we can do for what they were doing during his birthday. What made me say mic and not monitors was I’m not sure if they wear monitors during band rehearsal in the studio. Sure a closer look at the teasers or even looking at HLAHG or Cuatro could give that context3 points
-
Not sure if this was mentioned either in regards to a potential documentary - Billie is wearing a wireless microphone that’s strung through his shirt. Doubt that’s for just the TikTok3 points
-
I just love his chins in this. And the way he's looking at that ball.3 points
-
The samples are so small though that they could never go viral. I’m just saying if they actually had a “go viral” clause, they have given us very little to work with3 points
-
I would agree with you if Green Day were actually giving us samples of the new songs. But from what we have seen, they are just using audio from their popular songs. Also, let’s be real, at this point in their careers, GD will probably never go viral on something like TikTok. They are boomers, and last I checked, a good chunk of TikTok users roast boomers DAILY3 points

That third one has an Insomniac* feel to it. I'm a fan. *not the music don't @ me 😋3 points

Ngl I never expected any of these to surface... but I was obviously wrong lol People have some pretty awesome things... never would've expected earlier songs to surface. It's kinda surprising how many songs from the last decade haven't leaked tbh2 points

So apparently there are a bunch of Nimrod rarities! We have Allison, now we need Tony the Tiger…2 points

So two F1 events in October — one in Singapore and one in Texas. Weird schedule2 points

One day without Tik Toks, I feel the withdrawal, go Greg, post post post!2 points

they gotta be raking in so much $$ playing all these events2 points
-
I feel like "boomer" has come to mean to a lot of people that it's just an older, out of touch person and that's just not true. Like you said, they are all 100% Gen X.2 points
-
To be fair, they're giving us a lot more to work with than they did in the lead up to FOAM. All we had to work with that summer was Butch Walker's studio video. And the guys themselves didn't start teasing until about a month before the announcement, but all they gave us were studio photos.2 points
-
But we already got samples of new songs in some of the teasers. Or we haven't heard any vocals yet if that's what you mean.2 points

Given all the time they’re spending in the studio, maybe this will be a trilogy done right!!!!2 points

I really don't know. In my head it looked like this for some reason but now that I'm seeing it...2 points
-
What made you think of Insomniac? That album had a simple Times New Roman kind of typeface2 points
-
Interesting little thread I found on twitter. tl;dr, Halsey's record company and apparently many others don't let artists release anything unless they market it + it gets viral on tiktok. Could explain why Green Day is just making tiktoks these days and not crossposting to IG or twitter.2 points
-
There is a TikTok thread where these things should go but no one is using it so it’s harder to find2 points
-
If there's just one single song on this album that's on the level of Letterbomb then I'll die happy2 points

But Billie’s birthday is on the 17th. The Super Bowl show was on the 12th1 point
-
I’m guessing it’s their preference. Because they started posting the teasers on Instagram and TikTok simultaneously. But now they seem to have their full focus on TikTok1 point
-
hmm interesting point, but I thought this LP was going to be released independently? I’d admittedly have to get used to buying albums released by Green Day themselves rather than Warner. Bit of a change1 point

So I'm on a cruise full of old people and was expecting all the singers/bands to be singing boring slow old people songs but then I walked into the bar and the guy was singing WMUWSE1 point
-
To be fair, with the exception of Pollyanna they only played their greatest hits on the tour and the only reason they played Pollyanna was probably just because of the meaning of the song and how people were relating to it due to the pandemic etc. I mean, would they have played Holy Toledo live if they released that song at that time instead of Pollyanna1 point
-
Maybe 1972 is the documentary, and they're just making the record for themselves and not releasing it.1 point
-
I still think we're getting a documentary out of this!!! The production quality of the teasers is just to good to just be something recorded on someone's phone!!! Another TikTok!!! From Billie’s birthday, which was in February, so why are they sharing this now? Because it’s probably a clip from the documentary!!! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTdtc7N1B/?k=11 point

I'm just watching David Letterman's My Next Guest Needs no Introduction where he interviews Billie Eilish (it's a new season of the show on Netflix) and she mentions she loves Green Day. David's response: "Green Day (laugh)! They used to be on our show and I was scared silly of the drummer." Billie Eilish: "You were?" (Laughing) David: "Yeah. Because at the end of every song the drummer would, like, throw his drums everywhere and come running over like he was going to choke me out. And I would have to go racing away. But I admired the energy of that. I thought 'sure, why not this?'" Billie: "I love Green Day" And that's how you make an impression that's gonna last forever, kids! 😂1 point
