I don't think any band with as much management over them and money at stake would decide to release an album of B sides from their badly selling and almost universally hated (..I liked it..) previous record. makes absolutely no sense and they certainly wouldn't bring in Cavallo to produce that.

What even makes you think that from what we’ve seen? AI era studio, their best producer of their best albums, months of work, three studios in two continents, heavy distorted guitar samples… what about any of that is in any way reminiscent of the FOAM era? Is there anything they could tease about that would make you happy?

So funny story, my daughter is on a school program in Los Angeles right now for Children’s Media and she’s getting a tour of Henson studios and she just texted me that she saw Billie Joe sitting at a table outside 😭😭😭 I begged her for a photo but she wasn’t even sure if it was him until I confirmed that they’re recording there. I can’t believe it!!

Now I see it, the GD fanbase has a huge collective gonorrhea ptsd issue and that’s why everyone here hates claps.

And all this handclapping has got Youngblood stuck in my head. Very good! I really feel like their new sound will have it's own vibe, but with a Trilogy/RevRad kind of groove.

Hopefully that means we'll get at least an announcement for a single any day now. Maybe they could release it a day before the tour so they can have it ready in the setlist

I think the handclaps aren’t usually what bothers fans about the newer songs. It’s more just the production and lyrics. Handclaps aren’t really much more cartoonish than parts of other aspects of their other music. And I’m tired of hearing about the guitars sounding like they are coming out of a car engine. Sad that the only people that really care about this band anymore often times don’t even really like their records before Dookie. Kerplunk is the album that best exemplifies who they are as a band, and in some ways Foam best recaptures that identity maybe best since Warning.

In the teasers, the guitars sound louder and punchier than anything on FOAM!!! Before they started mentioning American Idiot in the teasers, that’s what I immediately thought of when I heard the guitars!!!

Oh yes, that's right! Maybe it's my general dislike of handclaps (don't care who does them) that made me forget they were there True and can't say I liked them there either. But no, I don't think it's fair to blame the handclaps on Walker tbh, as much as I find them wholly unnecessary 99% of the time.

Say Goodbye had some hand claps in it. They're definitely in Extraordinary Girl too, and I love how they augment the rhythm in that song.

Definitely during the 2nd verse of East Jesus Nowhere and on American Idiot, I think it was Extraordinary Girl but I‘m not sure right now, have to listen to it again

I don't think the handclaps were ever Butch Walker but more a carry over from The Longshot. Sure I've seen a statistic somewhere for the number of handclaps either in one of the songs or the album I must be one of the few people that likes them
