I imagine they were involved in the single release in 1998 perhaps as an early mix, or rejected mix. Sounds like something that'd be on Warning rather than Nimrod to me. Best way to hear the differences are to listen to it w headphones back to back w the album or single version. Whole song is an unmastered mix, missing 2nd distorted guitar, increased acoustic guitar, solo more present, no overdub distorted guitars in chorus's, outro/fade out is different (doesn't have the guitar vibrato last note, fades out with organ, and lacks the drumstick/bass hit in few seconds)

I still don't think C+V (the album) ever existed. Billie had written Money Money 2020 and was on the fence about how to release it because he didn't think it was "Green Day", though some people tried to tell him to say fuck what people think and just put it out. In the end, of course, they did the side project. I just don't buy that in such a short amount of time there was Money Money 2020, an almost finished C+V album they allege was stolen, and in just one year they pumped out American Idiot. Doesn't add up to me. 🤷‍♂️

So looks like Doug McKean and Rob Cavallo don‘t always work together anymore. The new My Chemical Romance song was produced by Doug McKean, but no Rob Cavallo is listed

The original rumour was that there were 6 new songs. Then there were photos from Abbey Road (which could simply have been mixing/mastering, but I doubt it). There were theories that they decided to expand the project, which I'm definitely leaning towards, especially since the teasers stopped and now they seem to be at Ocean Way.

No I'm just behind on the news! Been busy and following along from the outskirts. I will say I am still cautiously optimistic about the album. As a Green Day fan it's just the stance I've been taking after the last series of albums. But it does seem promising having Rob back and I don't think bands spend the money to reserve Oceanway if they're just fucking around and putting out another album. There is most likely some significance to what they're working on. They must be atleast aiming for this to be a solid GD record. Then again, it's GD and they are one of the few bands that could reserve Oceanway just because they feel like it. The snippets we heard are quite interesting but then again I could take three or four 5-second snippets from FOAMF that would make you anticipate more than it actually was right? In conclusion, I am happy to see Rob, a real producer and him in a proper environment. Green Day is such a great band but it's definitely highlighted more when they record something in the most professional manner. Don't get me wrong, I could record them in my basement and they'd sound incredible but that talent deserves the extra push that Rob can give them at Oceanway. I just hope this album is getting the treatment that our standard Green Day records got. Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning, AI and 21cb had a lot of love and care in the studio and in the songwriting process and it shows.

What if Green Day came out and said they are uninspired, out of ideas and are going to give us Cigarettes' and Valentines in a few months because they just don't care anymore? How awesome would that be?

Even if they’re still at ocean way, they could be mixing earlier tracks at the same time. If CLA is mixing then my excitement goes up to 10

Watching tv show 9-1-1 and opening scene they have a kid on the school bus listening to Longview.

I thought that was a sign they were rehearsing for the tour at this point. Kevin started posting about counting down to the tour so I assumed they were back rehearsing.

I'm speculating, but assuming that TikTok from a few days ago wasn't old, that was likely Tré tracking (recording) his drum parts. There are a lot of different ways to do this, but a lot of time the order of operations for tracking finals is drums, bass, guitar, and then vocals. So Tré's parts may be done and now Mike is tracking his bass parts against Tré's drums.

At this rate, they'll have to rename it 1973

I am always stunned when people post such incredibly strong judgements about people we all, in reality, know so little about.
