  1. I so hope we’re getting a documentary out of this! They’re shooting so much film 😍

  2. I don’t know if its ok to post this, but f**k it… I got my hands on the unreleased outtake Alison (Elvis Costello Cover) from the Nimrod Sessions. It is from a bootleg 7inch record, which unfortunately skips a bit. But it is definitely GD, as you can tell. Crazy to hear after 25 years. If it is ok w GDC I will rip the full song. I also will be posting an unreleased alternate unmastered remix of Redundant from 1998. No.. its not the Richard Dodd wide mix. I’m calling it the “Warning mix” since it is less distorted and more stripped down like Warning - the album. There is no second guitar, and the mix has more presence on the acoustic guitar, tambourine, and overdubs. It sounds less chunky and something that’d fit in more so on Warning rather than Nimrod. I imagine it was an early mix before it was finished - but why it is labeled as 1998 makes me curious as to why it was mixed like this after the album release…. More to come. 3. New TikTok! So now they’re at Ocean Way in the studio where they recorded AI? With Homecoming in the background. They’re sending a message that this album is gonna be a big deal!

  4. Got AI vibes😅. Like 1972 master tapes have been "stolen" and they decided do something new. Looks similar.

  5. Looking at screenshots Billie has black nail polish on like he did at Shaky Knees so maybe it’s new? Yeah, they have multiple studios that they own for making demos and rehearsing. You use someone else’s professional studio when you’re ready to record. But it looks like they’re recording this album in spurts, with a selection of songs in various locations. Who knows if they’re even done yet?

  6. With Rob Cavallo!! I thought Tre’s comment about the big slow song was about Homecoming playing in the background but maybe they just added that for the TikTok. Beginning to feel like you guys who’ve been saying they are aiming big may be right. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🙏🙏

  7. Don‘t think so. Rob Cavallo and RAK are far too expensive just to record demos..

  8. 1972 masters were stolen so they scrapped it, went to Ocean Way with Rob Cavallo and are recording American Idiot instead. Cue Homecoming! It’s deja vu all over again! 😂

  9. Something I am really hoping to see from this project is better pacing between the songs. I remember FOAM felt way too fast for me with just the rapid first of 2 minute songs. I liked their previous albums where they had some fast songs, some slow songs, and maybe an acoustic diddy in there too. Even if their isn't a true "story" to this one, I like when an album feels like there is a beginning, middle, and end.

  10. Well he is fifty, we are being somewhat realistic here. Let’s not ask for the moon (pun intended) 😄

  11. Very exciting! I wonder where they are in the record production process, considering that in three weeks they are flying to Europe for the tour and they will have only small breaks until October. Maybe they will drop a few singles during summer, something that is at a later production stage right now, and then the record in the fall? That would mean promotion right after the tour ends, and likely a new tour after that. A very busy year ahead for the guys if that’s the case.

  13. Cavalier Cavallo is the George Martin of GD! It’s gonna be worth the wait!

  14. Or better yet, just do what he did in 1994 at Madison Square Garden

  15. Or better yet, keep the t-shirt and lose the button down

  17. Hoping most of all to see a reappearance of Captain Hey on this new record

  18. I know where this was extracted. A few days ago a person was auctioning this 7 inch on eBay. In the end the person won the auction for a high price. Here is the link where this appears. https://www.ebay.es/itm/294922984521 Info: This is a super rare Green Day 7" 45rpm record makes the perfect gift for the ultimate Green Day collector or fan! Purchased from Tower Records San Francisco back in 2006 and has been kept in MINT condition in storage. Hand-numbered (15 out of 20) Side 1 features an acoustic cover of the 1977 Elvis Costello hit 'Alison' and Side 2 features the full band version with Green Day as well as an acoustic live version with Elvis Costello himself.

  24. Big ballads and Mike Dirnt vocals on one track. That's the only items on my wishlist. I am a FOAM supporter, but it would have done it so much good to have one epic anthem on there. It sounds strange, but a 21 Guns right in the middle or toward the back end. Oh Yeah! Right now, I'm still in End of an Era denial. Just like the Trilogy and Rev Rad, the Foam era didn't get to live it's full promotional life. I am still waiting for a Teenage Teenager single and video I'll never get, just like Forever Now and a host of Trilogy singles. Maybe Green Day want to make sure 1972 isn't screwed up by anything. No family, health, drug, pandemic or war problems. They need a complete win, with 4-5 singles and a tour with no cancelations. It's been too long.

  26. Not gonna lie, part of me is kind of concerned about all this. Like, yeah everything sounds good. But idk if this is just a "Well people didn't like FOAMF, I guess we need to do an AI type album now, we gotta get Rob back in here and do what people expect of us" kind of deal and if it is, my worry would be that this is damage control & they've not really been inspired to make an album like this I don't want Billie to think he can't make any album that has a Foxboro or trilogy kind of sound without everyone hating it and I don't want them to feel obligated to make another AI if they don't want to. Now I'm not saying that I think this is what's happening. It is very likely that they just want to make an album like this now. And I don't think the band has ever really cared about what other people think. But this is just something that I'm a bit concerned about. Especially since FOAM was only 2 years ago. I hope they're not rushing into anything

  27. I was thinking that the only difference between this pre era and revrad is the video teasers. I mean, they teased us with the revrad hashtag like... 8 months or something? And I remember they finished the record on June of that year. So be patient, easily they could drop an album by Sept or Oct.

  28. That works for me too. But untuck it.

  29. And judging by the positioning of the mic and Billie clapping into it, I can picture a big heavy studio reverb sound to that slow song!!!

  32. Maybe. Although he had nail polish on at one of the other shows earlier this year as well so it could possibly be from way back too.

  33. Oh that‘s Chris, I always have a different picture of him in my mind 😂

  34. There are only 2 short songs on the album, Fire Ready Aim and Sugar Youth both roughly 1:54. I was a Teenage Teenager is the longest at 3:45. The rest are between 2:30 to 3 minutes long. It just feels short because there are only 10 songs. But yes, I hope 1972 has 5 minute songs, and I hope the album is between 60 and 70 minutes long!!! Would’ve been better with a tease of a new song. Although Homecoming fits perfectly because they’re back at Ocean Way!

  36. Watched a few clips from the recent shows -- getting very good feelings. They might be taking forever to give us any info but Billie's vocals live sound great (as in, the best I've heard since RevRad and possibly earlier) and the band as a whole are sounding so tight; maybe should be expected for a band fresh out of the studio but I definitely think that's something that didn't show after FOAMF with particularly rough performances of things like Jesus of Suburbia especially. Really feeling that *Green Day* vibe here where they're all just so locked into each other perfectly -- Mike and Tre's rhythm section sounds like a record. Whatever we're getting, however long it takes -- they've still got it.

  37. I’m thinking they turned an EP into a full album

  38. GDC is dead right now. Green Day killed it with their stupid teasing strategy.

  39. So now that they are still recording, I don't think that we will get an album before September. But maybe they're close to finish the recording sessions, when we think about the tiktok video with Rob Cavallo in the car, maybe they we're already recording in the US when this video was posted a few weeks ago.

  41. 🤧I just get so worried! That maybe they can't finish recording everything they were supposed to before the European leg (June '22!!!), and then no new musics for da rest of summer! I need a worry rock now, to rub it! Gosh! ☘️ But if it is 1972, then Tre hasn't even been born yet (hehe) and there's still time to finish up the album/s before December (the month of Tre).

  46. I miss how big Green Day releases used to feel. Maybe it was just being younger or knowing less leading up. 21CB wasn't my favorite album but the build up felt epic. Helps when the record isn't a dud.
