  2. Watched a few clips from the recent shows -- getting very good feelings. They might be taking forever to give us any info but Billie's vocals live sound great (as in, the best I've heard since RevRad and possibly earlier) and the band as a whole are sounding so tight; maybe should be expected for a band fresh out of the studio but I definitely think that's something that didn't show after FOAMF with particularly rough performances of things like Jesus of Suburbia especially. Really feeling that *Green Day* vibe here where they're all just so locked into each other perfectly -- Mike and Tre's rhythm section sounds like a record. Whatever we're getting, however long it takes -- they've still got it.

  3. Heard Fire, Ready, Aim today and it's really not that bad. The lyrics are dumb but the music is good.

  4. GDC is dead right now. Green Day killed it with their stupid teasing strategy.

  5. This has to be the worst promotion gimmick/routine/plan i have ever seen. Last tease was months away..what are they playing at? Why start teasing in first place if you're gonna grind down to a halt few weeks later. 😓

  6. One of the rare instances where I wish it were being filmed from a little further back, because the pit was MOVIN' haha

  7. Billie and Kevin have both posted about Howie Pyro's death. D-Gen supported Green Day for some shows years ago. Rip

  8. Yeah! They went to London, came home, and then went back!!! They wouldn’t fly all the way there just to put finishing touches on a small EP, they have OTIS for that!!! This is definitely going to be a full album!!!!

  9. I’m thinking they turned an EP into a full album

  10. I miss how big Green Day releases used to feel. Maybe it was just being younger or knowing less leading up. 21CB wasn't my favorite album but the build up felt epic. Helps when the record isn't a dud.

  11. Will we ever get a bald Billie Joe? Sometimes I wonder if a ton of rock stars wear wigs or have hair transplants done. Such are the thoughts of us who lost our hair in our 20s. Haha #wecallitthecavallo!

  12. Something I am really hoping to see from this project is better pacing between the songs. I remember FOAM felt way too fast for me with just the rapid first of 2 minute songs. I liked their previous albums where they had some fast songs, some slow songs, and maybe an acoustic diddy in there too. Even if their isn't a true "story" to this one, I like when an album feels like there is a beginning, middle, and end.

  13. New TikTok! So now they’re at Ocean Way in the studio where they recorded AI? With Homecoming in the background. They’re sending a message that this album is gonna be a big deal!

  15. BM Excellent is the greatest line Billie Joe ever wrote.

  16. To me it feels like it was a change of plans completely. The way they were sharing teases and snippets of new music made it feel like they were ready to at least announce something a couple of months ago.

  17. New album will be so good that you will forget what songs were on FOAM. Just wait for it... A little patience.

  19. They could just #1972 all year and it not mean anything other them all turning 50.

  20. Happy Birthday, Mike! Should we expect anything from today?

  23. So I was just listening to the trilogy and while reading along with the lyrics on genius, I noticed that there are some more interesting lyrics than I thought. I think because there are so many songs & lyrics on these albums that people think most of them are just meaningless filler but there's definitely interesting stuff in there that you won't notice if you're not really paying attention. Not to say the trilogy is a lyrical masterpiece, obviously it's not. But because there are so many lyrics there and there are some lyrics that are just... bad, a lot of people assume that all of it is bad

  24. Although Brittany wrote 1972 in the caption for her post about Mike’s birthday yesterday! https://www.instagram.com/p/CdKR5lALETL/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Okay, yes, that’s the year he was born, but why would she put that instead of something like, “Happy 50th to my husband!”?
