  1. The networks latest album kinda felt like the most green day album since the 90s in a sense. There was Tre and Mike songs, and they weren't afraid to just be fucking goofy (with some real themes in between.) I hope 1972 is similar to that

  2. They’re at the best when you get the sense that they’ve all contributed more or less equally

  3. I bet Al Bumm is in The Network.

  5. My guess is when there is an announcement, it would happen earlier in the day. No later than noon ET.

  6. Totally agree, can never believe next track is Graffitia! Wish there was more. I love Junkies on a High, I like when go for that lazy, sleazy groove.

  7. I like it more than slightly! Only thing that stops it living up to their other albums for me is how short it is, it's like comparing albums to an EP.

  8. I'm just getting bad vibes about this whole thing. Like how Mike wasn't present for the first half of the recording session then they went back to record more, potentially because they didn't like how it came out? Not good. See I can pull things outta my ass too

  11. "Our friend Al Bumm IS COMING TO TOWN. Can anyone help him out with a place to stay? A couch? A floor? A RECORD PLAYER?" I think we're just days/weeks away from a statement.

  12. They've literally been spending the last few weeks in a recording studio in London, posting pics of recording equipment.

  15. I must admit that I too immediately thought of Jake when there was the discussion about how everything went smoothly and there were no mishaps. It makes sense not to mention it, though, as has been said. That was a completely freak accident and is likely all the fault of the forklift company and people involved with the machinery. If there are any legal suits going on, which I'm sure there are, that's private business. Jake also has a right to privacy about his condition and his injuries don't need to be brought into the public eye via interview with someone who wasn't even involved in the accident.

  16. Anyone seen this comment from Tre? Don't remember what it was replying to but "Al Bumm"

  21. Agree! I wish it was longer it would have given more of a chance to get into the groove of it. I think it was an innovative album for Green Day. At least we got the Network shortly after FOAM.

  25. It's an album celebrating 50 years for all of them, and we all know that Billie never thought he'd make it to 50. So I think it's kinda sweet they're all hyping it up like this. Isn't this year also gonna be 30 years touring together as well? I know Tre played for them a few times in '91, but he didn't properly join until '92, right? I've never really been too into musical artists and stuff to look forward to an album, so this is my first time anticipating it. It really has a sense of childlike wonder around it to me!

  26. I'm planning on recording the whole thing just to get Green Day performance. Then I'll try to upload it on Youtube. Or streaming the whole thing on Twitch. I really don't know.

  27. I honestly don’t think they’re in the recording phase anymore. I think they documented a ton of the recording phase to use as teasers and now they’re either waiting for final mixes or for more information on an appropriate release timeline. If I were to guess I’d say we will know more in late May or early June. I’m feeling a Fall 2022 release.

  28. met billie joe, tre and jason white at cherry bar in melbourne when they were touring here in 2017. my friend was playing in a soul band that night at cherry so i thought i’d go along to watch. i opened the door but someone was blocking it from fully opening, it was billie joe. ”sorry man!” he said. i went white as a ghost and just said “n-n-n-no worries mate” what are the chances they were also at the same bar!! had to drink about 7 pints before i could build up the courage to go talk to them. eventually when i started walking towards them their security said i couldn’t go talk to them, which i respected. i was just happy to be able to see them in the flesh and breath the same air lol. later on i was ordering a drink at the bar when jason white stood next to me. i took my chance and let them know how much the band has meant to me throughout my life, he was super cool and said come have a drink with us. we ended up hanging out for about half an hour talking about the times they’ve toured here down under. i was so nervous and was trying my best to stop shaking. i was so rattled that i left my phone on the sink basin in the toilets. tre tapped me on the shoulder when walking out of the bathrooms and said “hey you left this”. upon seeing that i was walking out of the bathroom with tre the security stepped in, thinking i was probably bothering them. tre said “nah, this is dom, he’s with us!” (so cool) i got my photo taken with billie joe and sadly didn’t get the chance with tre, but the memory is still so clear in my mind. the next night i managed to play guitar during knowledge with them. easy to say that it was the best 24 hours of my life. anyway that’s my cool story of meeting them. oh and safe to say that i didn’t end up watching a single second of my friends set that night.

  33. Tre joined the band in late september/early october 1990

  34. They definitely seem like they're celebrating. Tre played with them first in late 1990, and was official by 1991.

  35. Exactly!!! It’s almost like FOAM was an afterthought to them. “Get ready for the Hella Mega Tour…oh and by the way, here’s an album.”

  36. The fact that they've been teasing this album since December of last year just tells me they must be really in love with it and excited to share it whenever it's ready.

  38. I don't remember seeing this photo of Tré before

  39. He deleted it. Maybe he didn’t mean to share it there. I watched it once. It was the full recording of their INXS Don’t Change cover with Jason on vocal and David on drums The original video posted by David was deleted so maybe that’s why

  46. I sort of met Billie in Baltimore but someone else rushed in front of me to give him a guitar and I ended up taking a photo of the guitar guy with Billie and muttering something stupid after which Bill Schneider said they had to go I also met Tré in our hotel once but his security wouldn't allow photos. I managed to tell him that the drums had sounded great at the show the night before but then became a bumbling idiot and don't even remember how I ended the conversation

  48. I bet it is. The original ¡Dos! vinyl has Drama Queen on it instead of Stray Heart so IIRC that song has never been released on vinyl.
