Good pick up. I just downloaded the pics and uploaded into 3DShot app. The circumference of the head in each pic is very close. If we allow a 5% margin of error then this very well may be the same person.13 points

Well, I kinda don't want this to turn into a thread analysing the back of people's heads, but I will just leave this out there...13 points

Just checked Butch Walker’s insta and he’s still got a full head of hair. *breathes sigh of relief*13 points

I love this forum, and the fact that we’ve started analysing bald men from the back made me laugh out loud 😂😂11 points

He never said EP, just that they recorded six songs in London. We then assumed EP, but it may have been an album all along and they always intended to go back and do more in the spring7 points

There’s no better producer than Rob for them. Very exciting if he is indeed producing this.6 points

@Montclare Yup I agree entirely. Lolla is super expensive. It's not worth going and paying that much just to see GD. Maybe if I'd never seen them before I'd consider it but at this point it's just a let down especially since lately when they come to Chicago they play Wrigley which I also don't want to go to. I just want a good, normal arena show.6 points

This community never stops freaking the shit out of me. Keep the bald head dissection coming please ❤️.6 points

It was longer than that I think, something like eight months. I think we’ll see 1972 in the late fall (Oct/Nov) and maybe a new tour for 20236 points

Ok, so from what I got from all this, the good news is that we’re likely getting a full album rather than EP. The bad news is that they are still recording, and we’re not getting it anytime soon. I still wish for some sort of announcement though , so I would know what exactly I’m patiently waiting for5 points

They really seem to be reacting to the response to the last album with these teases. After so much hand wringing over the sound and the production of FOAM, they’ve now had a teaser clip where they’re working out a song and they say “Oh Green Day!” like, to indicate a classic Green Day sound and now they tease that Rob Cavallo is in the room. They are signaling that this project will be the sound you know and love.4 points

Agreed. Every year when they announce the lineup, I pray GD won't be there. Kills me that they'll be here and I can't go. There's just no way I'm going to stand through 10 hours of bands I don't care about to see them. The only festival I'd consider going to would be Riot Fest, which would make more sense for them since at least it's the same genre.4 points

This has been the last acquisitions that I obtained during 2021 and now at the beginning of 2022. I highlight the Billie Joe Armstrong vinyl that is almost impossible to find in my city in an electronics store. That vinyl is made in the Czech Republic.4 points

The rumor originally came from that fan that claimed Billie said he had a recorded 6 song EP. Guess things changed. Hope we are least get a single to hold us over.4 points

Would like them to try a new producer, but Cavallo is better than Walker.4 points
-
Well, one thing is for sure, Butch Walker is nowhere to be seen. I liked him but bringing Cavallo back would be a breath of fresh air4 points
-
Honestly, I know it’s wonderful but bringing three fans up is too much for me, it takes too long. I could live without Knowledge and the Kiss cover. They have such a brilliant, huge back catalogue of their own, I don’t want to hear covers at a show.4 points

Yeah but they announced the project before any of the studio stuff came out (at least from what I can recall). Yep most likely to just get a new vibe.4 points

Could well have been an album right from the start, but we just mistook the teasers to mean something different.3 points

by the way...I wonder if this project was originally intended as an EP and is now turning into a full album. Hard to say. And now let's hoping to have a new teaser later this month!3 points

Hair color would fit to Doug McKean, and Rob Cavallo could be the closest one to the camera. That would be amazing.3 points

Seeing them recording into a Neve makes me all kinds of excited. Very well could be Rob Cavallo there sitting closest to the camera -- starting to think this might be a bigger release than we thought.3 points
-
This actually makes me think we’re most likely looking at a full album to be released later this year if they’re back to record more songs now.3 points

Tbh, I wish they'd just have their own concerts. But I caved in and bought a ticket. I just wanna see them again so bad. I'm having so much post concert depression rn🥺2 points
-
And to me it would be kinda strange if Butch was the producer and at the same time not in the studio. Or maybe they randomly met Rob and Doug in London and thought it would be fun to take a picture especially for GDC 😂2 points
-
Yep, if they're continuing work on the project right now, then early predictions of a release after the bulk of Mega Hella tour dates would seem to be correct and the lack of consistent teasing would also make a lot more sense. I just hope that once we approach the release date that they up both the hype game and promotional strategy considerably.2 points

Wow not something I would've expected to be confirmed like that! I love that he wrote the lyrics out for them2 points

Green Day used to bring fans on stage kind of whenever, not necessarily just to play guitar or sing. Do we think they'll ever do that again? Like, what's a fan supposed to do if they can't play guitar, but want to get the chance to be pulled on stage? Is that supposed to be a motivator to get people to learn guitar? I would absolutely die to be pulled up and get to hug Billie, but I can't play guitar and I'm sure as hell not going to sing in front of anyone, especially Green Day themselves. I'll only ever get to hug Billie in my dreams, unless by some ridiculous odds I see him outside of a concert situation (like seriously, how do fans just run into him? That's fucking insane!).2 points
