I had Rusty James in Quebec City during the Trilogy. They didn't played it anywhere else during the tour. That's the kind of thing I like in a show. Don't change the setlist in his entirety but switch a couple of songs from now and then.9 points

I totally get this. Sometimes it feels like going to the same concert over and over, even if it is a new era. I loved the 21st CB tour, there was a section in the show that was often different for each show, I mean Platypus (I hate you) live made the Montréal show so much better for me because it made that show special. Would love to see them bring that back, pick a couple random gems from the catalog each show.7 points

Aside from Billie's personal stuff it was great! The way they premiered the songs live before the albums came out was really cool, went to a show at the beginning and another at the end and both were amazing, and I still love the albums. Fun times on GDC as well. I even like the album covers There's no era I haven't enjoyed though tbh. Shame FOAM was limited/cut short by covid but still enjoyed what we did get and still excited to finally see them live again after buying the tickets in 2019 lol. Very awesome that it seems we could get another album before then, wasn't expecting this at all.6 points

So I think we solved the mystery of what was going on with Billie's eyeliner/mascara at his birthday celebration. Looks like he used eyeliner to draw lines on his lower eyelids. No mascara involved. What a weirdo! I guess he was purposely going for that Clockwork Orange look. Also, congrats to his mom! She looks really good for 90 and I hope she continues to have a happy and thriving life for many more years. ❤️6 points

For sure, I would love to seem do that again in the next era. I mean I completely get that most of the show is going to be fairly scripted, but getting that rare gem made each show more exciting.6 points

I can’t stress enough how much I want to see them do Dirty Rotten Bastards live especially with that killer bass solo and guitar solo!!!6 points

Didn't they play it for the whole tour but dropped Good Riddance at some shows? Yes they did. The tour started in Rosemont and they ended with Brutal Love at that show instead of Good Riddance They also dropped in some deep cuts on that tour too like JAR 21stCB tour was the very best though!5 points

Billie will sing "this girl has gone far away" randomly during a guitar solo of another song, and play a tiny bit of the riff. Deal?3 points

Yeah so was mine, sorry I should have made that more clear. 100% this. They played it when I saw them at Soundwave festival in Sydney, 2014 and it was glorious. Someone even did a pretty good recording of the whole show on youtube and I urge people to check that out. Sure it's no 21cb showcase but it was a cool little show. I know right? I have been secretly hoping that they will play Stay the Night live at one of my shows one day, but I'd probably have a heart attack and die of excitement if they just started playing DRB. Just like the (pretty much confirmed) title suggests, I really hope 1972 is a celebration of many things.. one of being of the bands entire backlog so they can finally start busting out some deep cuts live. Surely you'd think they would be bored of playing the exact same songs thousands of times per tour? I know I certainly would but I have a pretty shitty attention span these days XD.3 points

I agree with that as well, tbh I made my own „best of Trilogy“ playlist with the 19 best songs to me. But I think that they just needed to make the trilogy as it is at that point of their career. And most of my comment was adressed to the production and the style of the music in general3 points

Agreed. I have my fingers crossed for the next era. It can be a gem from the new album or an old album. I mean I will still go to show, because I enjoy them live and well meeting all the fans. But give the little gem to each show and damn, the fuckers would have us going to every show. Anyways I am excited to see what the new era brings3 points

Dear Green Day Make songs that you would want to play live even if the whole wide world hates them and you only sell 10 copies. Also. I wouldn't mind a song about Alligators. Maybe a sequel to the Foxboro song?2 points

So how long has it been since our last tease? Was it the Lenny one? When are we getting another?2 points

Maybe and Mike just did all the arrangements (because he’s the only one credited). Or Jason and Tre just came out to see it. I didn’t even notice them there until you pointed it out2 points

One F-ing minute of every Green Day song. Except for Haushinka. In its slot they cover Walkin on the Sun by Smash Mouth. This is ideal.2 points

I completely understand where you are coming from with the band having a new era and new sound but the problem lays in the fact that it can be extremely difficult to tell songs apart, especially for people that don't listen to Green Day as much as it's fans do. There's no denying there's consistency across the trilogy, but that's just it... there is simply just too much of it. I will never forget the time I tried showing some people who weren't hardcore fans some songs off Uno! shortly after that album came out and then distinctively being surprised when I asked them what they thought of "this song over the last" and their honest answer was simply "wait this is a different song?". In my opinion, literally any songs off any Green Day album prior to the trilogy had the right balance of being easy to tell songs apart, while still maintaining the themes and sounds of the albums that they belonged to and looking through the bands entire catalogue, I challenge anyone to tell me how the trilogy did this even close to as well as the albums that came before.2 points

Interesting take on the Trilogy! Thanks for putting into words the feelings I’ve always felt but couldn’t put into words.1 point

To me 21CB is also the best album, the production is just so beautiful! But I also like the production of the Trilogy. After nearly a decade of heavy guitars it was time to strip everything down a bit and create a more backyard-and-no-stadium-like feeling. So at first sight the production of the Trilogy seems more simple than of 21CB and AI but at the same time, it‘s partly even more complex and has many interesting elements in it (by example, they took Billie’s background vocals to the next level). And this is why I love the Trilogy as it is.1 point

The levels of whataboutery here are disturbing, but nothing less than i expect from a generation of cry babies. Granted a lot of the conflicts that the US has been involved in, can be seen as unjust, by some. But never has the US forced tyranny and dictatorships upon people. Democracy should be something that is celebrated & a lot of countries that we've ended up in, there's been many of civilians of those countries begging for us to be there, so we can't really win, because we'll piss some cry babies off here on home soil, even though we've helped put an end to a lot of peoples suffering under brutal regimes. Listen, i know we're not perfect, but comparing the US' involvement in other conflicts is just stupid & naive & smacks of wanting to look / sound cool without really knowing the full facts. 9/11 was unprovoked. Granted we went into Iraq which had nothing to do with 9/11 in reality & in certain times in recent history it's looked like the wrong decision, but there's a lot a large number of Iraqi people who are grateful that our involvement happened because now they get to live a little freer & they get to choose who runs their country through means of elections. I could go on even more, but i can't be bothered.1 point
