  1. It’s a car not a child 🙄

  2. What if the reason we haven’t been getting hints is that the master tapes for 1972 were in the stolen car? It’s Cigarettes And Valentines all over again! </s>

  3. Interesting that his car was stolen after I suggested the new Green Day album should be released as a car. What if what was stolen from Billie Joe was actually Cigarettes and Valentines For Buttholes but just like 2003, some weirdos stole it? Hmmm. We're all going a bit mad here at GDA.

  4. I hope something happens soon. I am so bored. I miss No Fun Mondays and the Otis Mixes being released. I was hoping this 1972 era was going to be exciting and fun with all three of the members of the best band ever teasing and posting. It looked like it was going that way… and now nothing about new Green Day music… The Coverups livestream was pretty fun. And then a week later Billie Joe’s car is stolen. Hoping for some good news and especially some new 1972 Green Day music news soon. Hopefully this week.

  5. Haha maybe. He’s kept Blue since he was eleven and still has the shirt from the Longview video so we know when he hangs on to something that long there’s some real love and attachment there

  6. Bands need to start performing Casual shows and then Formal shows. All of us "real" fans in tuxedos or Idiot-Era bandwear... sipping Father of All Dark Roasts and spiking it with booze because it's so darn strong... and the normies get The Hits From Dookie and Idiot Tour. They are free to wear t-shirts and shorts.

  7. You're absolutely right it was the 32nd People's Choice Awards January 2006 Here's a some more photos

  8. Having your place intruded into, things messed with and, most of all, having a thing with emotional value taken away obviously sucks and he seems very sensitive, but at the end of the day, things are just things. It sucks, but it’s not a tragedy.

  9. I don't think so. The song was recorded just a few weeks before it was released, but not sure when it was written.

  10. Man they went through a lot of trouble. That means they knew what they were after and had seen it before. That feels much more invasive and creepy than a random street crime. Billie restores and sells old cars frequently, for him to hold on to this one for thirty years (and that takes a lot of maintenance to keep it running) it had to have a high sentimental value and a close attachment. He doesn’t part with those kinds of things easily. This had to hurt I feel so bad for him. That also had to make a lot of noise and take some time. These thieves were determined

  14. I'm totally guessing but who knows maybe something will be announced on Monday the 7th. Isn't that the anniversary of the release of FOAM too?

  15. Please can we have no speculation theories about the stolen car? This was not a publicity stunt. Carry on 🙂

  16. Kinda racist to assume that it’s bipoc people who steal, don’t you think?

  17. https://abc7.com/amp/green-day-billie-joe-armstrong-stolen-chevy-nova-costa-mesa-police-department/11541698/ It made the news too!!! I live on the east coast but it was in my Google news feed!!!

  18. No one sets out to randomly steal a car and goes for one in a garage (prob equipped with a house alarm system) that also accidentally belongs to a guy known for a pretty niche taste in cars.

  20. Man, I know Billie's pretty attached to certain cars that he has. I hope it's found and returned to him in good condition.

  21. Watching the winter Olympics and men's snowboarding they play Welcome to Paradise. Watched the Netflix show In From The Cold and in episode 3 they referenced Horseshoes and Handgrenades.

  22. It's like an hour and an half show on Saturday the 12th. I'm guessing only hits, no new songs.

  23. It's a 1962 Chevy not a 1972 anyway

  24. If any news was planned this week, I wonder if the search for his car will delay it

  25. What is happening right now lol ? I mean 90% of the time we just put Billie Joe's instagram story in this thread and nobody even replies but now you're coming out of nowhere with a strange racist comment lol wtf

  26. My brother lives near Costa Mesa. Maybe he'll be the one to find it! Then he can meet Billie and ask him for me when the next album teaser is going to drop because it's driving us crazy 😄

  27. I hope the car gets located soon and everything ends well.

  28. I’m sure it brought back memories when they rediscovered it, seeing where they are now compared to where they started from

  29. That's what I've been saying! You put all four tire plates together and it forms one vinyl record.

  30. That was just rusting away abandoned on Papa Cool’s property in the mountains for 25 years. I don’t think they were keeping it for sentimental reasons, they just dumped it and forgot about it. The band hadn’t seen it since 1994 until it got restored.

  31. They even donated the Bookmobile to Wheels for Wishes a few years ago! https://finance.yahoo.com/news/green-day-donates-tour-bus-023900578.html

  32. True. This is really just the news of the day in the absence of new music teases to speculate over. We need that to resume.

  33. Yeah he’s a hoarder. Must’ve about killed him when they sold a bunch of his stuff on reverb.

  36. That’s true, but I figured Pollyanna was specifically written with the tour in mind. Didn’t Weezer and/or Fall out Boy also release a single for the tour as well?
    2 points
  37. But they did they play Pollyanna which was the newest single. I still think they may play one new song next week, and we could get it next Friday

  38. Sorry, I have one more thing to say about this. My brother just reminded me he's actually seen Billie driving that car in Costa Mesa once a few yrs ago. I told him he has to find it!

  39. Something has to be coming this week because a week from today is the Super Bowl Weekend show!!! After those teasers, I just can’t see them arrive at the show empty handed! What would they play, just American Idiot and Basket Case? This would be the perfect time to play something new!! You may be on to something here!! Maybe an announcement on Monday for a single coming out on Friday the 11th?!?!? On second thought about next Saturday’s show, if Billie doesn’t find his car by then, I wonder if they would cancel their appearance

  40. This is ridiculous a man had his car stolen. He’s not allowed to ask for help to recover it because of the size of his bank account?

  42. It was that big sale of guitars and equipment a few years ago. It was with his blessing but it had to be hard for him to finally let some of these things go, guitars and amps from the recordings of AI, 21CB and the Trilogy. I think he had to free up some space for new things

  44. I doubt it, this show isn’t being televised. The only way you might hear a new song would be if you were lucky enough to be there when they are doing soundcheck like these lucky fans in 2010.

  45. It seems like the Green Day we have now sticks to the hits at these kinds of shows. I mean Hella Mega had nothing from FOAM, and even when they were actively promoting FOAM, they always included a Dookie song or something with every performance.

  46. I guess they’re still in the relatively normally living category as long as the super rich go, but I doubt they’d leave a car on the street?!

  47. I might be misremembering it then. Reading his thoughts about Trilogy on ''My Life in 15 songs'', he mentioned this: ''I love those songs, but a lot of it feels half-baked. It was a weird time. I sort of had my own private nervous breakdown.'' I might've forgotten or straight up skipped the first words, which were positive words about the songs. Then again, he has mentioned that he doesn't know what Nuclear Family is about, which gave me this negative feeling that he doesn't appreciate his own songs from Trilogy. He also did that podcast (was it 2020 or 2021?) where I'm also remembering not-so-great-words-about-the-songs, but maybe I'm misremembering that aswell. All in all, I'm glad to be wrong about it. God how much I'd love to hear anything from ¡Dos! again. Stop When The Red Lights Flash deserves permanent spot on setlist.
