Oh a trilogy of albums - that’s unprecedented!

I 10000000% agree with every word of this. Dookie is great and it's impact is undeniable but Nimrod, American Idiot, and 21st Century Breakdown are all on another level of songwriting. Revolution Radio is the closest we have gotten to a 21st Century Breakdown follow up and I would be more than okay with another album like that.

Trinity! - A spiritual, transcendent blast of cold air that will melt your face. Sparkling diamond tracks sit alongside rocky brunt monsters. Is this the end, my beautiful Pollyanna? I've always loved Billie's bond with Blue. It's part of what keeps his roots etched into his heart and makes his music so special. He's put so much into that guitar and it's carried him so far. It's so exciting to see him play it during shows and reinforce that connection he's had with it since before he was even in a band.

Dookie seems mediocre compared to Kerplunk, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning, AI and 21stCB in my opinion. It just had huge singles and an even bigger impact on the music scene. So I wouldn't want anything trying to capture the sound of dookie which at the end of the day isn't that special or interesting anyway. If there is something I've been waiting for Green Day (and I'm never going to get it as it seems) is the proper follow up to 21stCB.

Teasers on December 19 and January 7, there’s no way that’s just a coincidence!!!! Now about the first single, this Reddit says it could be released on the 14th at the earliest, which is tomorrow! I’m sure they would’ve announced that by now because they wouldn’t just shadow drop a single. IDK, if all this is true, when do you guys think we’ll get the single? If the final teaser is on February 2, then maybe a single on Friday, February 4? 🤔

Dookie is a great album, but I'm burned out on it. I don't know that I even need to heard it again. Not for many, many year at least. I know I'm in the MINORITY, but I think they need to make an album like FOAM again and that they are about to break DOWN like the Holiday Mobile. Which is good.

I agree Warning is full of hope and optimism, even if things aren’t great yet, you get the sense he believes they will be. RevRad is also coming from a pretty positive place overall, a few darker ones notwithstanding regarding society.

In looking at all the albums, which do you think is the happiest in terms of lyrical aspects? I'd say Warning is fairly optimistic. There's darkness for sure, particularly in the middle of the record but compared the other albums, it's grinning like an idiot and I love it.
