  1. New email from Oakland Coffee says “2022 us going to be an absolutely epic year with multiple releases…..” sounds like they have lots planned!

  2. I would just like to show some love to this wonderful elderly woman moving and snapping her fingers to Green Day playing Castaway on the Chris Isaak Show; all while other people were making stilted dance motions as if they never grooved to anything outside the Top 40. For this, I say we honor her. Never forghetti Castaway Granny

  6. Alright someone get this man his fix and yes that someone will be me. The new EP is revealed to be a spite record, detailing the long running feud between Green Day and none other than Mr Robert Downey Jnr. The boys take swipes at every opportunity. Each song is titled off a RDJ film, only they pick the ones that sound like pornos to give him the big middle finger. Revenge is a dish best served...in an EP. Green Day - Songs for an Asshole 1. Bowfinger 2. One Night Stand 3. Two Girls and a Guy 4. Dolittle 5. Hugo Pool 6. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 7. Stab You (Robert Downey Jnr) in the Heart (HIDDEN TRACK)

  8. And a super secret track called Iron Man. It's part Black Sabbath, part original Green Day song and talks about how corrupt the Marvel cinematic universe is. Rumor has it that all three Spider-men sing backing vocals though

  21. That’s an amazing snapshot of a moment in time. Also interesting to see that was how their roadie Timmy Chunks first discovered them and that his band opened for them at that show.

  22. 10 Musicians That Are Embracing Sustainability Green Day As early as 2006, punk rock band Green Day was already working on a Move America Beyond Oil campaign with the NRDC in hopes of inspiring young people to move toward renewable energies. “This campaign is about channeling the power of millions into something positive and powerful. People are sick of our oil addiction and feel like nobody is doing anything about it,” Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer and guitarist of Green Day, said. “The solutions are there, the support is there, but the leadership is not. Our message is that it’s okay, and very rebellious, to take on that responsibility.” Green Day has supported various other charities and campaigns, including creating a charity drive after Hurricane Katrina and donating to victims of Hurricane Harvey. Outside of music, the band members also founded Oakland Coffee Works, which sells coffee in certified biodegradable bags and pods to eliminate plastic waste. https://www.ecowatch.com/musicians-embracing-sustainability.html

  23. You got me looking up the limits of EPs to see how long this thing could be, haha. 30 minutes or less is an EP. I think now is a good time for FOAM Part II: We Also Told You So!

  25. I log in once in a while, and what do I see? Green Day are breaking up? "You are not leaving this band unless you're in the coffin". Once you're in, you're in for good. There is no turning back from being in Green Day, nor being its fan. There are only 2 types of people: the ones who are Green Day fans, and the others who lie about it. Suck it up and get ready for the next record

  27. I agree Warning is full of hope and optimism, even if things aren’t great yet, you get the sense he believes they will be. RevRad is also coming from a pretty positive place overall, a few darker ones notwithstanding regarding society.

  31. That's the show that makes me constantly fear for Billie's pants falling off. Every time I yell at the screen "Billie! Pull your fucking pants up!" I have no idea how they stayed up. What's the point of even wearing the belt if you're going to let your pants be so low that just the weight of the belt leads it to do the exact opposite of its job?

  33. They didn’t really hype up the last few singles that much other than, “Oh hey we got a new song coming this Friday” except for Pollyanna with that quick studio teaser video. The way they’re acting with 1972 tells me it’s gonna be big!!!

  34. They really need to either a) Improve their hint game, or b) give us something more substantial. I'm beginning to think they changed their minds.
    1 point
  35. I'm not sure I follow your logic... Are you saying they'd just drop an EP out of nowhere, no hints, no nothing? Possible, but highly unlikely in this day and age with a tool as powerful as social media. Of course, I'd have nothing against it being an album, but my gut feeling says it would be too soon, plus it would require them to have recorded it in various different locations (which to be fair is not unthinkable, but still...). Better to keep expectations low, I'd say. Also, I'd rather have a good EP than a bad album any day of the week and twice on Sundays...

  36. I remember when FOAM was 26 minutes they said it was because 26 minutes was the minimum to count as an LP. So an EP would have to be under 26?

  37. It's not TV but I did make a photo documentary and book about Green Day fans at shows! I got some interesting photos that show the lengths people will go to for the band. I don't think I'll do more photos like these, but I'd love to photograph people at home with their Green Day collections or just listening to their music or whatever, so I could include people who can't go to shows as well. Not sure how that would work though. It'd probably have to be people photographing themselves.

  45. @greenday.stuff Good read, thanks for sharing. I agree with some of what you say and really disagree with some. I think because largely in this community Foam was not well received, many have come to believe it was badly received universally but that is not so. I am including this to make my point here https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/green-day-father-of-all/ I am also not saying all reviews were good, but this was not the slated album it has become in the interval in fans minds. I think non Green Day fans liked it a great deal more than ardent Green Day fans which is hardly a rare event for any band. I am not sure why fans find it so hard to take (not just here) when a band does something different, it seems like they are unable to put aside their preconceptions and just listen! I agree with a lot that’s been said, Billie Joe is often asked about his writing and frankly I don’t blame him for the variety of answers he’s given over the years but he did once say, “well I’ve got no new girlfriend to write about”, and that is sort of the point. He’s trying to keep writing different, new things but what about? A writer like he is writes so much from the heart and his own experiences this can be a real issue. Many bands have far shorter careers than Green Day and often it seems like they just run out of material! Approaching 50 and with all that’s gone on in the world I could well believe has made him very reflective so fuelled his creativity but it doesn’t make him a different person from when he was 30. If at 30 he was goofy, irresponsible (his word) etc etc, he still is at 50, he’s just older, not different. More mature you say, this band? I think that’s not very likely! 😂 Well, maybe a little. Either way I can’t wait for whatever is next.

  46. Maybe the guys recorded an album back in 1972 and have been saving it for 50 years only to find in 2022....it's finally aged well. The Sweet Newborns. Natal Idiot
