They've just released another teaser video a couple of days ago and your conclusion is that they've given up? Jeez some of you people just love to make up unexisting drama and random theories9 points
-
Someone on reddit pointed out an interesting thing that probably means nothing but if it’s intentional who knows: The first 1972 tease dropped December 19 (19 - -) The second one dropped January 7 (197 - ) So will the third and final tease arrive February 2? If it’s intentional maybe the third tease will announce a February 17 (birthday) or 18 (Friday) release. Two weeks prior would be an appropriate time frame.6 points

The only thing I saw was on Instagram last week while looking for #1972 but it's clearly fake. The half 2 in the bottom left is probably made on Paint lol https://www.instagram.com/p/CYbmHZjA4bP/5 points

There was another mini tease on new years, Tre posting "have a slappy new year" with the hashtag 19724 points

They didn’t really hype up the last few singles that much other than, “Oh hey we got a new song coming this Friday” except for Pollyanna with that quick studio teaser video. The way they’re acting with 1972 tells me it’s gonna be big!!!4 points

Ah, the eternal question. I’m beginning to think he glues them on 😂😂3 points

That's the show that makes me constantly fear for Billie's pants falling off. Every time I yell at the screen "Billie! Pull your fucking pants up!" I have no idea how they stayed up. What's the point of even wearing the belt if you're going to let your pants be so low that just the weight of the belt leads it to do the exact opposite of its job?3 points
-
Yes. This. It’s a lot and it’s the whole band hyping it. I think it’s exciting to watch the clues and worth the excitement. It’s gonna be big! I hope so.3 points

Considering they haven’t released an EP since the Lookout days, I don’t know how you could conclude that. Even singles get hyped these days.3 points

Here's a couple more I found from the same show and on this one just how does Billie get those pants to stay up3 points

I remember when FOAM was 26 minutes they said it was because 26 minutes was the minimum to count as an LP. So an EP would have to be under 26?3 points

i still doubt we get a full new album imo its highly likely we will see an EP to support the european hella mega shows (if they can take place)3 points

The album will be a Tik Tok Exclusive? They knew I've been avoiding their app and they've exploited my only weakness. Touché, Tik Tok. Touché.2 points

This is the original photo It was taken by Theo Stockman, one of the actors in the American Idiot musical. There's also an original image from the front cover2 points

That’s an amazing snapshot of a moment in time. Also interesting to see that was how their roadie Timmy Chunks first discovered them and that his band opened for them at that show.2 points

I'm sure that way more effort than one would expect went into this, give the kiddos some kudos.2 points

Would be funny if it was a re-recording of one of the Lookout-era albums. It won't be, but it would be funny.2 points

10 Musicians That Are Embracing Sustainability Green Day As early as 2006, punk rock band Green Day was already working on a Move America Beyond Oil campaign with the NRDC in hopes of inspiring young people to move toward renewable energies. “This campaign is about channeling the power of millions into something positive and powerful. People are sick of our oil addiction and feel like nobody is doing anything about it,” Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer and guitarist of Green Day, said. “The solutions are there, the support is there, but the leadership is not. Our message is that it’s okay, and very rebellious, to take on that responsibility.” Green Day has supported various other charities and campaigns, including creating a charity drive after Hurricane Katrina and donating to victims of Hurricane Harvey. Outside of music, the band members also founded Oakland Coffee Works, which sells coffee in certified biodegradable bags and pods to eliminate plastic waste. https://www.ecowatch.com/musicians-embracing-sustainability.html2 points

Yep. Didn’t come north during 99 Revolutions at all, cancelled 2017 and postponed 2020 and 2021. Don’t get me started. 😭😭😭 I think they’ve been lower than that!2 points

They did release a live EP during 21st CB though It feels like a new album. If that's what your perspective is for something big then bingo. I don't think they'll ever go as big as they did with some albums in the past. Based on how the last few singles sounded if they can just get really focused it could be a decent album.2 points

I hope something happens soon… A teaser single or a longer clip of something official… I wonder what’s going on behind the scenes! I bet it’s exciting! I wonder if there’s any drama or more plots and hints being planned! The pandemic is exhausting… Green Day hints are like delicious cups of caffeinated beverages or fresh air and energy… I hope another hint drops soon no matter how small or silly or big or whatever… This is so exciting and fun!2 points

You got me looking up the limits of EPs to see how long this thing could be, haha. 30 minutes or less is an EP. I think now is a good time for FOAM Part II: We Also Told You So!2 points

I was looking back at some pictures I'd saved on my old phone and found it hidden amongst some screen shots. I must've saved it to post but didn't. I found this lovely photo too. I'll have to see what else is there2 points

He was actually decoupling the tracks through AI to try and recreate multitracks - which points to a remix more than a re-record, although I have no idea why they would randomly remix they already missed the anniversary1 point

I think that web Will have Some rerecorded if some kerplunk songs un 1972... Many references on Billie's insta1 point

February 2nd is too far for another hint lol We're gonna have something this week.1 point

The average budget for a band in their shoes back in those times was about $1000 so I would say yes. Bad Religion's first album was similar and on a $1000 budget.1 point

They really need to either a) Improve their hint game, or b) give us something more substantial. I'm beginning to think they changed their minds.1 point

That's what he said isn't it? Is that the last time they played Glasgow back in 2010? I'm thinking it must have been Fox Theatre 20091 point

I'm not sure I follow your logic... Are you saying they'd just drop an EP out of nowhere, no hints, no nothing? Possible, but highly unlikely in this day and age with a tool as powerful as social media. Of course, I'd have nothing against it being an album, but my gut feeling says it would be too soon, plus it would require them to have recorded it in various different locations (which to be fair is not unthinkable, but still...). Better to keep expectations low, I'd say. Also, I'd rather have a good EP than a bad album any day of the week and twice on Sundays...1 point

This arrived from the US this morning. It's the hoodie from the Broadway musical (I couldn't afford to buy one at the time!) These are the seller's photos not mine For anyone in the UK I didn't have to pay customs on this and I think we can now order up to £135 from the US without paying excess customs (unless it's posted with the Global Shipping Programme which will still charge you even if the item is just six dollars!!)1 point

You may need to manage those expectations to avoid disappointment when it’s only an EP of good standard Green Day songs. I honestly don’t think they are attempting any kind of “comeback”1 point

Sad to see the forum so quiet. Last time we were getting teasers of new music, it was insanely busy here.1 point
