This is what I've wanted for them forever. Give me a genuine sentimental album. The newest teaser sounds good. If the song sounds like that it'll be a breath of fresh air. The end shot with the trees reminds me of the 1039 cover5 points

It's gonna be a comp, I think the boys are keen on reinventing themselves and not treading old ground, and these 6 songs will be used for an upcoming studio album, but I predict 1972 specifically will be another compilation, but a significantly more interesting one than gfb or bbc sessions. please note this is unfounded conjecture lol5 points

I think you are bang on. This is a band who have said repeatedly there will never be a Dookie part 2, or anything else, it’s not what they are about. I think the song writing could be reflective and wide ranging but I don’t expect Kerplunk part 2.4 points

I hope Billie finds inspiration to put the word 'salad' into a new lyric. That would just really pound my cake, ya know? Maybe record in a haunted cabin in the woods and focus the lyrics on love for music. Matt Skiba would sound excellent with Billie Joe. He should do Nightlife 5. I thought he had told the fan that they recorded six new songs. Did he say that or just six songs? I expect they’ll be new, they might remix old stuff at times but they never re-record old songs why would they do that. Billie said recently he likes writing from the perspective of his younger self so for his birthday I think this release is called 1972 because he’s going to be looking back lyrically and the music will be typical Green Day sound.3 points

I realized after thinking about it for a second. I was like what year was five years ago? Pandemic has like sucked up half a decade in music pop culture history. I kind of remember now. It was kind of not a big sort of deal release. One new song, one video, Xmas stocking stuffer kind of vibe from that I remember. I bought it of course but kinda forgot about it.2 points

I doubt it would just be another compilation just 5 years after GFB. The song in the teaser has to be a new song because it doesn’t sound like anything familiar. And their early stuff had that hard, crunchy guitar sound. This one doesn’t, but of course we haven’t heard the whole song yet, so who knows?2 points

Internet trolls are so annoying. I wish they’d go away. They’ve existed as long as the internet has. I hope Billie Joe ignores them. They are not worth a second of his time. I’m so glad he’s back on Instagram. Posting the pic of Tré was probably just an oops. I didn’t think anything of it until someone mentioned it here.
