I’m with everything Billie Joe’s Eyelids said. So many people on here use this word ‘accountability’ like they themselves have to be the ones holding him accountable. How arrogant, egocentric & straight up backward can some people really be ? He has been held accountable , by many of people and behind closed doors too. But the fact some people on here have such high opinions of themselves, that they think they can just throw vile comments around about something that in reality, they know very little, if anything, about, says more about them, than it does the guy in question. Like why does somebody have to be held accountable on YOUR terms, what makes YOU so perfect that YOU get a free pass to say horrible shit about somebody that YOU know nothing about? How about you take your high opinion of yourself and your oh so perfect moral compass & practise what you preach ? The worlds fucked enough as it is without having to constantly shine a light on somebodies past mistakes.. What seriously do you gain by doing that ? Is it because your life is so middle of the road and boring ? Learn to be fuckin nicer to people and let people learn and grow, people can’t do that when they’ve got somebody constantly shouting abuse about them, wether it be at them close up, or in secret behind a laptop screen. Wise the F up!

I have a feeling the covers are a Billie Joe solo thing and the 1972 project are separate and maybe he deleted it thinking it’s better to just keep the excitement going for the new Green Day project. Maybe. Not sure. Plus, he has the New Years Eve solo performance coming up very soon. That could be another reason not to dilute the fan base with covers until maybe a few months from now. This pandemic is going on and on and making people so sad. I hope No Fun Mondays make a comeback after the excitement of the Billie Joe New Years Eve performance and the new 1972 Green Day project. So many fun things to look forward in spite of another shitty end to a shitty year. Thank god for Green Day. No wonder they’re God’s favorite band.

Could be an EP of covers that molded them musically from their upbringing. 1972 being the year they were born, could see that twist. BUT, I really hope this isn't the case though. With that said: Billie, if you want to give us a solo covers album again, I would absolutely not complain.

I agree. The accoustic rearrangements Billie did for Audible were so good. Know You Enemy gets a lot better with accordion. (Unironically!)

I really hope he doesn’t cover God Only Knows. That’s a cringy cheesy song for me. I think that song is often sung at weddings. I don’t want him to morph into a wedding singer even for a second. I just remembered he sang at Mark Zuckerberg’s wedding. I wonder if it was a money thing. Or maybe they’re close friends. Who knows. I got off track. Basically I really hope he never covers God Only Knows. Or regularly sings at weddings. I Get Around is pretty fun. I like it.

They’re not for everyone but you should give ‘em another shot! Pretty much anything from their 65-73 period is gold. And the boys (Green Day) sound great! Hope this ends up seeing some official release.

I don’t think so. He did say they recorded six new songs. An album might include a cover like The Longshot album did, but I don’t think he’d release a full covers album again after just doing one. Fans would be pretty let down after that tease we got that they recorded in London. Why go to London to record the Beach Boys? More likely just an at home thing he was messing around with

Cover album doesn't match up with the "6 new songs" report. Turning into a cover band would also be a really depressing thing for this aging band struggling to make a good record.

I get that. One thing that EC does so well that I wish Green Day would do is rearrange and reinterpret his old songs when he plays them live. They can be wildly different and it makes a song you’ve heard a thousand times fresh and interesting again. If Billie feels like writing new material has become a struggle, I’d be happy instead of him doing covers if he would rearrange his hits and play them differently, very much like he did with Good Riddance for the audible. That was brilliant.

I really hope this is not a Green Day cover album. I like Billie doing those records and the Coverups, Longshot, whatever because he’s such a little workaholic nut and it would probably be harmful for him not to work. He’s like an adorable super talented little pitcher in the bullpen keeping warmed up or spring training or whatever. And BTW… THE LONGSHOT IS AMAZING IF THE BAND OR WHOEVER TROLLS THESE THEADS BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT’S WEIRD HOW STUFF WE SAYS SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN WE SUGGEST IT: PLEASE NEW LONGSHOT PLEASE! I'm wondering if this will still happen with Omicron becoming such a problem. I know plenty of people already who are double vaxxed and boosted who have still contracted COVID. Sure, if you're vaccinated you're not going to die from it or likely even get particularly sick, but it's still not a good thing to have. We still don't know everything this virus is capable of. I really do hope they go through with it because I'd love to see Billie play live again. I just hope they do it with the utmost caution. I guess we'll find out tomorrow or sometime on Thursday whether or not it's still a go.

You missed my point. If someone is accused of sexual assault without an actual laying out of all of the facts vs possible non-facts, how appropriate is it to repeatedly call someone one of the most inflammatory words in existence? I'm honestly asking you, is it fair to call Joey a pedophile based on one person's account without hearing all of the facts, and when that term really doesn't apply to the situation? Is that where we are now with sexual assault allegations? If so, then how are we better than societies that sentence people without a trial? So if the answer is yes it is appropriate, then we can take that to it's logical conclusion. Why not comment on the personal details of every band member as far as things we've heard without knowing all of the facts and also call them the most offensive name we can think of based on our limited knowledge, and bring it up every time we get a chance?

Also, it's ridiculous to continue calling him a public figure. His band is defunct and he has no social media presence. If anything, he's avoiding the public eye. But Billie should be able to post pics of him without this term continuing to come up. In the same vein, if Mike posts pics of Brit, that would make her fair game as well wouldn't it? I'm not trying to give you a hard time, I'm really not. But to me this is just ridiculous. By the way, Brit owns and promotes several businesses, and charities. So she is very much a public figure. She is also basically an antivax crusader online.. Let's at least have some consistency in respecting family members' privacy.

I really agree with you for the most part. But one way to keep a civil flow of conversation is to not throw out word bombs, or purposefully inflammatory and offensive posts aimed at getting a strong emotional reaction. Again, that's what mods are for.

I don’t care about this enough to bother to type out a nuanced opinion on it. I just want to say that we’re once again in an absurd situation. Over the years, the amount of topics that we’re allowed to discuss has dwindled to the point that we either talk about how pretty Billie Joe is or yell at each other to stop talking. In effect that’s making the forum very hard to use as a platform for normal conversation.

While none of these words are particularly unique, I did skip stupid ones like "the", "to", "a" etc. If we WERE to count the more generic words however..... I’m, like, well, say, want, one and no are the most prevalent.
