I've been unpacking some boxes from my old house (I moved 10 years ago! ) and uncovered this old poster I'd printed off. I used to think this was a lovely photo of Tre back in the day3 points

I Am The Disappearing Boy: 30 Years Of Kerplunk Billie Joe texted to ask if I was going to write anything about the 30th anniversary of Green Dayās Kerplunk. I told him I hadnāt given it much thought, especially because the anniversary was still months away....... https://larrylivermore.com/2021/12/15/i-am-the-disappearing-boy-30-years-of-kerplunk/3 points

I agree with @pacejunkie punk, I think Mike looks older because heās so thin and the sideburns arenāt helping, also, heās had them years now.2 points
-
Yes but he could be short without looking so tiny, legs make him look short, shoulders so slight.2 points
-
Unpopular opinion: I liked Mikeās long floppy hair during the Trilogy. I wish heād do it again, in any color. Iām done with the stupid sideburns you can cut yourself on. Only makes him look even more gaunt.2 points

Okay, so this image for the album cover and it's called Generation !Cero! But don't let that image fool you, it's inspired by the likes of the Descendants and Crimpshrine. Some say it sounds more like a Pinhead Gunpowder record is Pinhead Gunpowder were to a bombastic, explosive and fiery demon of an album. WOO HOOO1 point
-
not anymore the tour has been moved to 2023 and no interrupters on it anymore. They're both on the bill for slamdunk next year though. Is the Hella Mega Tour meant to have a support act, or just the three main bands? What kind of set times have there been for shows that have happened?1 point
-
Or some songs from the trilogy they've never played would be pretty cool1 point

Whole Red 7 show was simply beautiful in terms of bands looks. Billie Joe looking hot as fuck, Mike sporting then-fresh long blonde hair, TrƩ with his usual look and Jason White looking more chill than ever. Beautiful picture.1 point

Even cheaper on amazon right now. $8.65 for the vinyl. Free shipping w/ Prime. I bought mine from the band store and hella overpaid, but I nabbed a spare just now 'cause that price is too good.1 point

American Idiot is their 13th most played with 555 plays. Jesus of Suburbia, 18th with 490 plays. Know Your Enemy - 20th most played with 374. Poor little old Oh Yeah though. It's only been played 4 times! It should take the place of She or Longview and be played at every freaking show. At LEAST until the 50s.1 point

I love the lyrics to "Castaway" especially "Spontaneous combustion in the corners of my mind". I used to say my brain sometimes felt like a bowl of spaghetti slopping round but this covers it better1 point

Can we add American idiot holiday Jesus Of suburbia and know your enemy to that list . Oh yeah and oh yeah.1 point

The only trouble with that is thatās the kind of thing you do when a band is long since broken up and/or the members dead. I fear I wonāt live long enough to see the amazing Green Day material that gets released when Generation Alpha/Beta/Gamma discovers them in 2075. Not to mention the biopic feature film.1 point

Green Day fans are so diverse. Basically whatever they do someone is going to start whining about it and itāll probably start a division among fans as usual. Thatās fine. As long as the music is interesting and new and the band is happy. I hope whatever they do next is really and truly what they want to do and not what they think they should do. I hope the next record they do it for themselves and they love it. Glam rock and hand claps if they please. As long as it comes with a small club tour too along with the stadiums. And if they are taking suggestions I love rockānāroll and glam punk so bad thatās cool if they wanna lean that way ā¤ļø but Iāll be happy any way they go as long as it makes them happy too. Plus, rock was all ādeadā or whatever š and now it seems to be coming back hard because it is so good and I am so excited for the new era! Green Day! Rockānāroll hall of fame icons! So excited for whatever comes next whatever it is.1 point

How about something similar to The Beatles Anthology, with pre-fame demos (including 5 year old Billieās Look For Love), studio outtakes, previously unreleased songs, live recordings, and interview exerpts.1 point

Finally got around to listening and it's excellent. This will definitely be (blasting) on in the car Saturday/Sunday for my drive to the parentals for the holidays.1 point

Hate to say it but merch is the thing that takes the least effort with the biggest profit margins I think thatās all there is to it. The band do nothing but sign off on the designs if that and the markup over cost of manufacturing is huge. I wish they would actually expend the time and effort to go through the tapes and release something fans have never seen or heard before despite the fact that it takes much more effort for much less profit if any (especially for these lesser known albums). Iām curious to know how many copies of the Insomniac rerelease they sold for the work that took. They seem to only want to be a t-shirt and coffee business these days. It feels more like what you get after a band has long since retired.1 point

Bleh. As a fan, I'd love to see my favorite band of all time to actually do something with their past albums during anniversaries. During 21st Century Breakdown's 10th anniversary, there was a good chance to perform one or two songs from that album and/or release random live video from that era, which is actually not that much to ask as a fan. In Kerplunk's case, they could do literally anything else than putting some shirts and hats online. Re-record it. Remix it. Share funny live videos from that era (if those exist). Tell stories. Perform No One Knows for the first time. Do acoustic versions of all of those songs. Show some goddamn love to album that is not named Dookie or American Idiot. Fucking shirts and hats for Kerplunk's 30th anniversary, are you fucking kidding me? Can't wait for 21st CB's 20th anniversary, maybe we can get some mugs and beanies then1 point

Whilst looking for something completely different I stumbled on this old photo of Jason White from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno from 9 December 2004. He looks quite different I think1 point
