I've never liked the slicked back look on Billie. I much prefer his hair gently gelled up or fluffy (curly or straight). I love it when he has bangs, preferably falling into his eyes. 😍 Here's another from that show that's just 🤤6 points

You know you're a fangirl when you're walking past this and have to stop and take a picture solely because of the name. Bonus fangirl points for listening to PD while going past it. (Also, who the hell knew there was a St. Kevin?)6 points

From @bubukittyfk From Kevin (loads of stuff on his story but I've picked out a couple of screenshots) That's one hell of a leg kick! Tre has competition for KFAD5 points

I was going to make a joke about that maybe being the case, but I thought 'nah, that's too on the nose'. Just goes to show how ridiculous this band is. True story. Most of the time you can't even set your drink down between sips.4 points

You're all wrong, it's Billie's lil' leggies that make him look extra short I always think the same when I see them live! They're all kind of petite. Miniature band.3 points

I love the lyrics to "Castaway" especially "Spontaneous combustion in the corners of my mind". I used to say my brain sometimes felt like a bowl of spaghetti slopping round but this covers it better3 points

I love the activity on Instagram ❤️ even the silly stuff! Maybe especially the silly stuff. So fun!3 points

I agree they’re my favorite, maybe because we hear songs like Castaway and Church on Sunday so rarely now and they’re brilliant songs done live.3 points

The Warning cuts are the highlight here (I mean it’s all great but these stand out the most).3 points
-
The only trouble with that is that’s the kind of thing you do when a band is long since broken up and/or the members dead. I fear I won’t live long enough to see the amazing Green Day material that gets released when Generation Alpha/Beta/Gamma discovers them in 2075. Not to mention the biopic feature film.3 points

Gott agree that the Warning tracks are the real highlight in this collection, although really enjoying it as a whole. 2000 LYA sounds super punchy!2 points

Green Day fans are so diverse. Basically whatever they do someone is going to start whining about it and it’ll probably start a division among fans as usual. That’s fine. As long as the music is interesting and new and the band is happy. I hope whatever they do next is really and truly what they want to do and not what they think they should do. I hope the next record they do it for themselves and they love it. Glam rock and hand claps if they please. As long as it comes with a small club tour too along with the stadiums. And if they are taking suggestions I love rock’n’roll and glam punk so bad that’s cool if they wanna lean that way ❤️ but I’ll be happy any way they go as long as it makes them happy too. Plus, rock was all “dead” or whatever 🙄 and now it seems to be coming back hard because it is so good and I am so excited for the new era! Green Day! Rock’n’roll hall of fame icons! So excited for whatever comes next whatever it is.2 points

This is International Superhits Live. Not saying that's a bad thing. Just saying that's what this is.2 points

I like the Elvis hair the way Duke Snyder did it,, gelled but not too much and still messy, sometimes it looks too slick and I think it ages him a little but it does suit him.2 points

It's risky playing Green Day drinking games as @Beerjeezus @Slave To The Network @jengd and I found out 🤣2 points

Unpopular opinion: I liked Mike’s long floppy hair during the Trilogy. I wish he’d do it again, in any color. I’m done with the stupid sideburns you can cut yourself on. Only makes him look even more gaunt.1 point

That’s really all there is to it. Trouble is, the restaurant’s IG page is kind of bad, nowhere do they link their website or address. There are no location tags on any post I have no idea where they are. Not very good business1 point

Same!! 😆 I also love it when Mike has bangs. Another one ☺️1 point

I know back in the day critic's used to talk about Billie's "nasal" tone but has anyone else noticed how pronounced it is on this version of "Castaway"? Not a criticism, I love it, just couldn’t help but notice it.1 point

How about something similar to The Beatles Anthology, with pre-fame demos (including 5 year old Billie’s Look For Love), studio outtakes, previously unreleased songs, live recordings, and interview exerpts.1 point

It would cause some confusion, but can we get a studio album called Shenanigans? Because Desensitized just might be the greatest song of all time. I guess they could do it backward and call it Snaginanehs. Like a reverse b-sides would be like a all a-sides or something? How about Bloody Shenanigans? Shenanigans and Valentines? Polyanigans? I don't know. I just love Shenanigans so much and no other band has a b-side collection like it. Shenanigans should have been a studio album and DUI should have been on it. SHENANIGANS!!!!!!!!!!1 point

I guess what I'm saying is to him social commentary is not politics it's just life. Everything you say is true, but it's the definition and expectation that others place on him that he fights against, this idea that Green Day is the band to be expected to have an opinion on every political issue going forward. I think he writes as the mood strikes him but defies expectations and that's one of them.1 point

While I was looking for the exact quote Billie Joe did about long songs, I stumbled around to some article from April where he cites Jesus of Suburbia (and She?) as ''the best Green Day song''. https://www.vulture.com/article/interview-billie-joe-armstrong-green-day-history.html EDIT: Found it, it was from Kerrang's interview https://www.kerrang.com/green-days-new-album-is-like-nothing-youve-seen-before “I’ve decided that I don’t like long songs,” the frontman reveals today with a knowing chuckle and a twinkle in his eye, “and that’s coming from a band that wrote [the nine-minute-long] Jesus Of Suburbia! I’m like a 16-year-old with ADHD. If I’m listening to other people’s music, I always look at how long the song is. If it’s over three minutes I go, ‘Urgh, pass. I don’t wanna listen to that shit.’” ''He leans forward, throws up his hands and shouts to comedic effect. “Who has time for that?!”''1 point

He's said multiple times, but this is the most recent. Sorry, I don't have time to find the exact spot where he answers it, but it's within the first 30 minutes of the video1 point

It's weird because when I met Tre he was tiny as well (bearing in mind he was skinnier on the 99 Revolutions Tour). I think Green Day In general are all small guys. Tre definitely looks like he's "bigger" but like I said he was tiny in every respect when I met him so much so I was kind of shocked1 point

I think is the opposite. They won't make another Breakdown because they had a big chunk of stress making the record, pulling every string and polishing every detail. If being socially aware is being political, then they were political from the very beginning. Politics is not only related to politicians, is how, where we live, what you have to do to eat a meal at the end of the day. How we interact together. Political elites have made everything possible to bruise people and looking away from politicians, just to make things easier for them. In that sense, I bet he is more tired of speaking his mind, his convictions, his soul, to trying to make a change, to make people giving a shit. And it didn't happen. Probably it won't. If he would stop making social commentary, then RevRad shouldn't exist. And then, in that record, he wrote the most deep song that I have seen from that guy: "What's good about love and peace on earth, when it's exclusive?" "What part of history we've learned, when it's repeated?" FOAM is full of political statements too. Not gonna mention MM2020pt2. Is not like "Fuck x politician". Is more like "I have tried almost anything to make this a better place, and it is not working" Do you remember? "Ain't funny how we're running of hope" If Billie is tired to be in a political/social band, he would have stopped long time ago and enjoy his millions. But guess what, he can't. And it's painful to me, as is from a lot of us. But that is the reality we live in, and I'm super grateful to have him to put music in this apocalypse1 point

Finally got around to listening and it's excellent. This will definitely be (blasting) on in the car Saturday/Sunday for my drive to the parentals for the holidays.1 point

Yes. He often sang it that way live. Like when he sings WICA live and would often say “I’m a loser, a drug user” instead of “I’m a loser and a user”1 point

I get the sense Billie is tired of Green Day being mischaracterized as a political band. He never intended to AI to be overtly political, like every other album it was meant to be about his own feelings and where he was emotionally at that time. Politics factored into it as a setting or a backdrop to fill out the statement he was making about how it made people feel. But it also pigeon holed them as a political band and he’s been fighting against that label ever since.1 point
-
I think it’s his narrow shoulders that make his head look big, when you see him in reality I don’t think his head looks big but I agree, Tre is so much chunkier than Billie you don’t realise he is actually shorter.1 point
-
It accentuates his big head. I don’t mind the sides swept back but I like when it’s loose and messy on top1 point

Dear Green Day, Please be advised: These songs have been put onto 4 or more collections and never need be added to another one. We know you think these songs define your career, and that's alright, mama. But when it comes around to These six songs, we are DONE. She, When I Come Around, Basketcase, Brainstew, Hitching a Ride and Minority. If you must use one, Hitchin a Ride is still tolerable. If you must keep all but one, please ditch Brain Stew. It gives me a brainstew.1 point
