  2. Stuck With Me streaming now. From iTunes it looks like Walking Contradiction, Waiting and Hitchin’ a Ride will be the other songs released before 10th December as they’re the only others with their run times listed.

  3. The picture of Jason and the koala is so cute! Koalas are evolutionary disasters and I think they are weird, but Jason looks so happy! It's adorable.

  6. Let me explain again: it's not just speculating about GD's family members that isn't allowed, it's speculating about the personal lives of the band members themselves as well. You don't know these people, you don't know Mike's thoughts or reasons for doing or not doing anything, you don't know what goes on between Mike and his wife. The point of this thread is to comment on instagram photos that GD post or have GD in them and the point of this forum is to talk about the band and their music. Not to use their instagram activity or lack of activity to try and work out where the band members are and what they're doing at all times and why, and not to guess about the their personal lives and family members. This isn't because I or other mods have a different opinion on the dumbness of anti vaxxers or have speculated differently about Mike's personal business (we don't/haven't), it's simply because this type of discussion never has and never will be allowed on GDC. We don't make an exception because someone related to a band member posts dumb things on instagram. Stop speculating about Mike's personal life please.

  7. How you got from my post that I was pointing fingers at the band is a complete mystery. My point was the opposite of that but please don't make another multi paragraph response to this. Our opinions are known. And my opinion is that Brit is a very real threat to the cohesion of Green Day right now, mostly because of Mike's adoration of her and his being stuck between her choices and those of the band. It's quite obvious that this is the case.

  12. Too poppy for me. Very FBHT like. Not going to lie, I'd love to hear them come back to those deep Dookie sounding guitar riffs. Just my opinion, don't hate.

  14. I want to film a skit called "What If Green Day Songs were literal" The first song I looked at was Dissappearing boy and I imagine Billie randomly dissapearing, becoming a heel, etc. What would the funniest Green Day song to be literal?

  15. they are on Crush now which is still owned by Warner. their contract is probably different now but not in a way that means anything to the audience

  18. Yeah I agree festivals are good for them, in that they love playing for large audiences and they're able to reach beyond their own fans and remind the world they exist and are still great. That's all good. But as an older fan it's hard to be standing in a festival crowd for that many hours to watch them on videoscreens because you need even more endurance to get a spot up front.

  19. Well WMG has a partnership with Crush and the songs on Spotify say copyright Green Day (BBC Sessions says copyright Warner which would be back catalogue). So maybe they are releasing everything under Crush now? Thing is, they could probably live off their back catalogue at this point and the revenue from touring, licensing and merch and just give their new music away for free going forward and still do just as well. That and coffee 😜 They have so many revenue streams music sales is probably the smallest.

  20. On YouTube Holy Toledo says listened to WMG on behalf of Crush Music, I thought all that meant they were really still with Warners?

  21. So here’s my question: I thought Green Day had negotiated a new deal to release music in any way they want but it looks more like they’ve left them completely. Green Day are self releasing their latest singles (they are all copyrighted to Green Day), yet obviously Warner still has ownership of their back catalogue including new releases like the BBC Sessions (copyrighted Warner), and a portion of ticket sales and merch. I got an email from Green Day official copyrighted to Warner that promotes ticket sales to the Shaky Knees Festival, a sale on all merch called an “All By Myself” sale and Oakland Coffee gift packs of all things, but no mention of Holy Toledo 🤔 Also there have been no physical copies sold of the last four singles. So what exactly is their deal now? Will Warner do no promotion of their new music going forward? If so, how will Green Day do it beyond social media posts that only fans follow? Does Warner get a piece of Oakland Coffee sales? What’s their involvement in this separate company? They had to license the BBC Sessions I guess for the special 7” is it anything more than that? Most of all, I wonder what it will mean both for the release and promotion of new music and the potential release of any more old stuff that’s in the vault. Is that all Warner’s to put out now? Do Green Day control any of that?

  26. It wasn't a kiss with a fan, but when Bille kissed Mike in Hella Mega, he also seemed hesitant. Maybe it was because of the COVID, but it looked a little strange. But it looked like a junior high school boy kissing his childhood friend for the first time, and it was very cute 😍

  27. Thanks to Reddit for those thing I didn't knew. In Homecoming, during Tré's section, there is a faint Don't wanna be an American Idiot in the background. In the video at 6:02 with back vocal boosted The drum part after Tré says ''geez'' is a call back to the post-chorus drum part from American Idiot. The drum fill for American Idiot leads us into Rock N' Roll Girlfriend from Nobody Likes You.

  28. All of Green Day fandom is listening in abject horror as Tre Cool goes ON and ON with dumb, jokey songs. Some of us are crying in our Father of All dark roast coffee. and then there's a slight swell of an orchestra. And then Mike Dirnt counts 1 2 3! Billie Joe counts uno dos tre! Tre Call says "you're doing it F-ing wrong!" and then BLAMO! A wall of rock n roll destroys the toy piano and we get a full Green Day album. So the intro is 47 minutes, who CARES because this trilogy is BANG BANGING!

  29. I'm hoping it will sound similiar to RevRad(my favorite album).

  30. That one time you ask the crowd to say “Hey, hey!”, but they say “Hey, oh!” instead

  31. I'm just imagining listening to that for 47 minutes and then the band erupts in at incredible volume and scares the shit out of you, like somewhere now but the intro is 3/4 an hour long

  32. Sounds like an unreleased track from FOAM. Meh.

  33. Seriously, it looks like GD doesn‘t WANT to sell music anymore. Where is the promotion? Is Crush sleeping?

  34. It’s funny how Scott Nagelberg said that they are the greatest band in the world on his Instagram but he sure doesn’t treat them that way as far as promotion goes.

  35. I agree. Here Comes the Shark with shark lyrics would be awesome. A whole HCTS album of songs. And another version maybe Here Comes the Shart. They could write lyrics about feelings regarding eating a deep dish pizza before a huge stadium show and more. Lots of sharty experience they could integrate into life experience based lyrics. Holy Toledo is amazing and I hope this is a sign of music to come.

  36. Tre posted a photo of a mic'd up baby sized piano today so I think it's safe to say the nursery rhyme album is officially coming

  37. It's a tough choice between Pollyanna and Holy Toledo. But Pollyanna just hits me in a different way. I honestly also like Here Comes The Shock for what it is, a dumb fun standalone single. It would be a really fun song live that I'm positive we will never see.
    1 point
  38. I think every song of these three has great elements. I mean maybe the chorus of HCTS is a bit boring but the instrumental part of the verses is really good and contains this heavy "wall of guitars" which they don't record that often anymore since RevRad
    1 point
  39. No contest for me, Holy Toledo is awesome Foxies sounding goodness! Pollyanna is good too and has a nice uplifting message. Here Comes the Shock......it's fine but all I hear/notice about it is "here comes the shark" so it's just reduced to a joke lol. If it was actually called Here Comes the Shark and had lyrics about sharks I'd like it 100x more.

  40. I like it as a stand alone song. I agree I don't really want them to pursue this style for the next record but I don't think anything they've released this year is an indication of what we can expect from the next album. I think each song has been created for a purpose - HCTS for NHL, Pollyanna for end of COVID restrictions/tour and this for a movie.

  43. At first I thought rereleases of the same biggest hits was no big deal but these are interesting. They capture all the energy of a live performance with the quality of a studio recording. Like a live show without audience noise they’re great.
